I ticked Google on and no sooner did I hit restart it blue screened on me. Henceforth I took the liberty to remove it immediatly from my system. I have the report if you want it.

OK do I continue using system start up and services or can you instruct me at this point to set it back to normal start up.

I have a number of still showing programs in my add and remove that won't remove. Things like itunes, The Ship, EA, and probably a few others. See what happen was I did a system restore at one point last week or more and it brought them back but the programs are gone. But there buggung me big time just being there.

Also that Clean up program I got from you back in the day might be out dated although it still works fine. Only thing is it when it cleans it also forces me to put all my passwords in everything I do all over again. Anything new by any chance thats better. I would like to clean all the junk in here.

ok I am also addressing the keyboard issue. What I found was Intergrated Perripherals/onchip PCI Device/usb keyboard support via OS. If I click that it gives me the option to set it to BIOS. What should I do there?

usb keyboard support via OS

Try setting to BIOS and see if that helps
Take note, you may lose some functionallity in Windows enviroment, but this you may not notice
Take a look here at the differences
http://www.adriansro...S_Guide_03b.htm
If you do find that you lose to much functionallity
I suppose you have a choice of either keeping an old PS2 keyboard handy
Or you can always have handy a USB to PS2 adapter>>their fairly cheap
Don't confuse it with a PS2 to USB

OK do I continue using system start up and services or can you instruct me at this point to set it back to normal start up.

Go back and select Normal startup, you don't need everthing enabled on startup, but for now, just set to Normal
I'll let you know some steps you can take to prevent startup items later

Also that Clean up program I got from you back in the day might be out dated although it still works fine. Only thing is it when it cleans it also forces me to put all my passwords in everything I do all over again. Anything new by any chance thats better. I would like to clean all the junk in here.

Can you do the following
Please supply an uninstall list from Hijackthis
Open Hijackthis>>Open MISC TOOLS SECTION>>Open UNINSTALL MANAGER
Click the SAVE LIST... button
Save the list to your desktop then copy>>Paste back here the Whole contents

In the list, let me know which ones in the list are already uninstalled please

BACK TO THE DRAWING BOARD. It blue screened again (once when google restarted and now again while playing COD4). So I am back in clean boot mode. Not really sure instructions on enabling with both service and start up tabs I guess. But I also believe google was or is partially responcible. No matter its gone and now I guess I need to continue looking. Maybe you can decifer the code.

itunes, EA Link, Battlefield2142 isn't there or is partial.

I have no idea what Kahl Install wrapper is.

Also this must be realated to steam but Source SDK Base was coming up as an error on start up.

Try and track down the culprit from msconfig
Then we'll go thru the uninstall list

Oh, and can you also post a fresh hijackthis log and let me know if you have problems posting it
A couple of us are having problems posting logs, I just want to see if you get an error message also

Do you want to post your own logs from FRST?

I put off doing the memory test regretfully. I never changed the setting and I need to go back and look at the directions to do that. Meanwhile here is the hyjack list.

This is a very confusing thread, I thought you reenabled everything on startup
It appears that it's most disabled
I don't know where to go from here, enable everything on startup and post me a fresh hijackthis log
Also run Memtest, take the hour out of your life and run it please

OK looks like it was set to boot from cd. I am in bios now looking. It says first boot device CDROM so I guess that's it.

Everytime I do something though I get slaped down. I put the cd in and restart the computer and a a screen pops up and it wants a comand promt. It give a list of 4 different comands above the line where you enter the comand. I tried typing in something. NOTHING works to make the memory test start. What do I do?

Now I noticed while this page scrolled an error. something about USB adapter. But anyway it scrolls down and the comand promt line says CDR-DOS] A:>

I'm seeing above current options /MLX /BL=16 /LEND=on /DELAY=off

WHAT DO I DO TO MAKE IT RUN?

Beat myself to death trying to get Memtest to work. I burned the cd rebooted and it never work.

Anyway what I did was take a 512 memory stick and removed one and went and play coc4 with evrything running. The very first one I replaced and after playing for two hours it never blue screened. So I don't know. I am going to play some more.

tweaked beyond measure with this whole situation. I must be STUPID if I can't even get a simple test to run.

I haven't seen that error message before, are you sure you burned Memtest.iso as an image file?

Are you sure you unzipped Memtest.zip so you had Memtest.ISO on desktop
And are you sure you burnt it as and Image file?

All burning programs are a bit different for burning with
Which one do you use?

Good news I think. Played for 6 hours straight. So maybe it was that stick of ram. Know we can get down to business and try and get rid of the things I don't need running, and any junk slowing me down.

Yes Yes and Yes. But after burning it, shutting down my computer NOTHING. I tried and tried. It was bringing me to CDR prompt. I would type in DIR and then tried everything to make it run and NOTHING. That piss off out of my mind I drove to my friends house picked up a stick of ram and proceded to pull out my ram one at a time. I think I hit it the first one which in fact was a very old stick. So I obviously put the one my friend gave me in and went to play. ALL DAY LONG. No blue screen no errors. With everything runnibg including Vent and mIRC Avg, ATI, It is in normal set up and I didn't turn anything off.

Now your here and I'm here. And I will do what ever you say I need to do including trying to run this test. Just tell me what I need to do.

I used nero to burn it.

itunes first error said The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource
2nd error said Theinstallation source path for the product is not available

Ea didn't have error but didn't remove. Keep in mind the program is one but when I did a system restore it showed back up in add and remove. Same thing with bf2142

Except bf2142 had an error saying setup.exe has encounted a problem and must close sorry for the inconvienence
