Yesterday I got a copy of windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, to replace my windows 7 ultimate 32 bit. Before doing this I copied all the important information from my main drive to my second hdd. After doing this I started installing the new OS. After everything finished, my second hdd stopped working with my pc completely. It will not show up in bios. It will not show up under disk management. I have no idea how to fix this, or even if it's fixable.
The second hdd is a laptop hdd from hitachi. model: HTS543216L9A300
The hdd had worked fine for over a month with no problems at all, until I installed the 64 bit OS.
Please help me if you can.

If your sure the hd was good earlier
Go into the bios, look at any settings
Do you see one to go from AHCE to IDE?
Try setting to IDE
What do you have set?

I didn't see anything that said AHCE on it.
I have a place in my bios that shows me my main hdd, its under ide channel 0 master, and my second hdd should be under ide channel 1 master I think...but its not there.

Anything to do with IDE?
Is it a SATA or PATA drive?
Can you pull it out of the computer and try it on another and see if it's detected?

both of my hdd are sata.
I have no other computer to test it with here unfortunately.

Find someone you can test the harddrive with, that is the best trouble shooting method
Besides that method, we're just guessing

Okay, will test it out on another computer within the next few days. Thanks for the help, if you think of anything else to try in the meantime please let me know.
