Win XP Activation crack

Alright, I borrowed Win XP froma friend, original version. I installed and found I have to crack it with in 30 days, 26 days as of this writing. My tech-expert sent me this file called, winxp_crk. And gave me instructions to crack the activation thing.
I found out in the readme, that i have to uninstall the SP1 patch if I have it(?). Though he says I don't have to uninstall it. now, can someone please explain to me how I can sucesfully get the activation thingy off my butt?

You can crack XP without any 3rd party software at all. Your Tech-Expert isn't much of an expert.
