Idle Chat / And Now I Say Something
« on: January 10, 2009, 02:16:39 AM »
Well with all these going away posts, it seems not a whole lot will be going on, as everybody is apparently killing TTG for a second time... I blame eloyman.  Anyway, I probably will still come on, and I don't decide to quit places, I just stop going to them, so if I stop coming here then bye.

Well I suppose I should make a list thing...

Reazee: You are maybe the most sarcastic person here, and it is hilarious, I would type more... but I still talk to you... so yea...

Pureblood: All in good fun and all that.  People took things too far... A lot, I never meant any of it, though you are very strange (not entirely bad, you just make no sense at all to me sometimes).  You can't take a joke, which leaves you ripe for joking about, and the stuff you say often warrants a joke to be made.  Though, that you didn't always understand my sense of humor was understandable, and I wish you the best of luck in other things.

Jibbles: Lots of stuff happened between when you joined and now.  You went from being somebody whining about the me being dead topic being in the wrong place in barely legible text, to owning and running maybe the biggest blackmarket to spawn off of the TTG community.  I honestly don't understand you at all, and you are maybe the strangest person I have ever talked to, but it has been amusing, and always worth a laugh.

Paco: Like Reazee I still talk to you, but I figured you would like being on one of these stupid lists.

Matthew: You are below Paco on this list.

Madhatter:  You were a good mod on Runecore and a good elite here, good luck being more constructive.

Eloyman: You aren't bad to talk to, but you clearly don't know when you are taking things too far

Josetann: Isn't it fun to look back and see the change that the site made once you made me a mod?  Not necessarily good changes, and I don't know how you feel about what the site became, but its been fun, even if at this point in the game you regret it http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

Guestolo:  Though I don't think I've talked to you about anything beyond like 'Could you help with this?' or 'What do you think of this?' kind of situations, but you seem like a pretty cool guy.

Six Why: You are pretty awesome, and know how to make somebody laugh.

Aragost: You don't come here anymore but you are terribly British.

Gower: Thanks for the interview, don't kick my neck off, and good luck with that update on Ban Jagex

Because he kept asking for it.  Reazee and Littlefly recommend him I guess.

He may be a proven scammer to, I dunno... Either way I say no.

So everytime I turn on my computer it never boots right.  Sometimes it gets to the Windows loading screen before succumbing to many many colors, and freezing.  I think the graphics card may be dead, which would suck... But if anybody knows of any other cause for these messups it would be greatly appreciated http://images.thetechguide.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

Anti-Scammers Forum / Rejigging

And over the starboard bow I spied a spy, spying on this spy. I told the captain of the spy spying on the spy, and he had us turn the ship for the spy to make him stop his spying ways.

But the spying spy told his captain the very same, and no amount of pasta could unnerve you more than that moment. Knowing the spy tthat spied on this spy, was spying still and the ships were heading straight for each other.

This was it, chicken never seemed so serious.

But alas, it was the giant mirror of Gerfnim, and we hit that mirror. The other ship cracked and fell away. We were beginning to sink! We looked behind the mirror, and to our shock we see, the legendary land of milk, where everything is milk. We stayed there for a fortnight, and then we left.

General Discussion / Apology to MOST of TTG
« on: October 12, 2007, 05:45:13 AM »
Yesterday, as Snowzak, Reazee and Aragost noticed and over-reacted about, JB Lee had secondary mod powers.  I don't apologize for that, I don't regret that, at all.  What I do apologize for is lying.  When I got on for 5 minutes to check on something, I see that Aragost, Snowzak, and previous to that  Reazee, had all made threads wondering why he had them and why I "didn't make him a proper mod" about how I was a dictator and stuff like that, so I don't care who you are, chances are if you get angry enough, you are going to lie to the people that made you angry.  Things got a little bit carried away and next thing I know Reazee is posting "proof" that JB Lee had mod powers.  Now honestly the situation was blown way out of proportion.  I was, as I had posted, not going to be here in the near future for a week or two because of College applications and stuff.  I gave secondary mod to JB Lee so that he could moderate the forums while I was gone, but apparently that is being a dictator.  So I am sorry to the members of TTG, sorry I lied about it after it happened.

Now then the people I am not sorry towards being Reazee, our lame-duck mod Aragost, and, less importantly, Snowzak.

Reazee: You have been at JB Lee's throat since the whole MSN thing.  No matter what you say you still hold a grudge, I could have given secondary mod to any member and even if you found out you wouldn't have cared, because JB Lee didn't have it.

Lame-duck mod Aragost:  You probably did the most, posting that I was a dictator for doing it, and should have made him a "proper mod" even though it wasn't a big deal when it was only temporary when I wasn't here. I don't regret making JB Lee a mod, Aragost, but if this is how you handle things and over-react to things, then I sure do regret making you one.

Snowzak:  In all honesty you just annoy me.  You argue points that obviously aren't true and think that you deserve mod when you obviously don't.  Then you contribute by over-reacting the the situation just as much as the other two did.

Like I said before sorry for lying about it I hope you understand why it happened and exactly what the situation was like.

Thanks,
Allanon

Anti-Scammers Forum / The elite's status on phishing
« on: October 02, 2007, 01:52:27 PM »
While we cannot make an official rule about phishing or anything like that, it should be looked down on.  Elites such as yourselves should not be scamming at all, even in game.  I know that we can't punish you for it if you do it, because if we banned in-game scamming then we might as well make breaking Jagex rules against our rules... and you can put together what that would mean for us.

Anyway, if you are caught selling your site or advertising it to a member of the forums, you will be banned, no question about it.

Just know that if somebody votes no in an elite poll for a new person saying that it is because they scam in-game, it is a perfectly valid reason.  Elite's aren't supposed to scam no matter what, so yea, it is a good enough reason for a no vote.

In a nutshell, don't do it, I won't ban/suspend/de-elite you either way, it just isn't the kind of characteristics that elites should be showing.  Don't advertise your site if you do have one, or try and sell it.  If you make a guide on how to do it, it might get deleted (in fact PROBABLY will get deleted) but you won't be punished (like you wouldn't be arrested if you made a guide on how to kill somebody).

Thanks if you actually read all that

Anti-Scammers Forum / Re-structuring the elites
« on: August 11, 2007, 12:45:09 PM »
Littlefly and I have been talking through MSN and PM's about the elite structure, and we both have the same general idea, with slightly varying ideas about other things, but this is how I think it should be done so far:
-At the beginning of the first month, a poll is made with all the elites on it and one with the mods on it
-The two with the most votes are put in a group that get to decide on the next elites.
-the two mods with the most votes would stay in the group forever
-One person would be randomly picked from the list of elite each month
-Also at the beginning of each month, a list would be made and anyone (I would say 2 elite recs still, or just if one person thinks someone should be an elite, either way) an elite thinks should become an elite.
-At the end of the month, the 3 people voted into the group, will be PMed, if one doesn't answer within one day, then the person with the third most votes (or another random person depending on who doesn't respond) becomes a selecting person.
-The group of 5 talk through PM's, MSN or other (non posting) ways, for 3 days, discussing which person on the list of possible elites, should become elite.
-At the end of 3 days, if they have decided that person becomes elite. If they haven't decided, or decide against making someone elite, there will be no new elite added.

Ok this next part is just an add-on of the one week poll and still needs some work:
-At the end of one week there will be a poll, whether to keep the elite or not.
-Each member must explain their reason for voting or it will be removed.
-The only reason's for voting must be based on the member's activity on the forums in the last week. So if it is a personal problem it shouldn't affect voting.
-If they say something like "so-and-so has flamed and abused his trust all week" they would need to link to (a) thread(s) displaying this as proof.

I think this is working out to be a pretty strong idea so far, give me some feedback.

 -Allanon

 LiTtLeFlY's idea:
I say we have 3 guys that do the voting every month. 2 of the guys that do the voting are voted into doing it by all of the elites once a month. So if one month you didnt like the guys voting decistions you can vote him out of the group of 3 and a new elite will be voted into it. Maybe both of the guys will be voted out of the group of 3 and 2 new elites with the most votes will be put in the group of 3 for that month. Maybe both guys will do good and everyone will like their decisions and both will stay in the group of 3 for another month. To find the 3rd guy we will just go down the list of elites every month and put a new elite in the group of 3 every month. So atleast everyone will have a tearn and 2 of them are voted into doing it by all the elites.

If there was 5 guys doing it, how the hell would be get them all on msn at one time, also they can debate over pm's but still. How the hell are 5 people post to decide over one guy becoming elite from a list of like 4 that are running for elite just over pm's.. it would be insanly hard to finaly pick one person. Also 5 is alot. I think 3 is perfect because 2 of them are voted into it by all of the elites and one is put in the group of 3 every month and taken out at the end of the month and another elite is put in from the list of all the elites. Still i think 5 guys is way overboard on trying to decide who becomes elite and to top it off, they will have to debate about it over pm's.. because me and Allanon know that all 5 cant get on msn at the same time.

SO EVERYONE, give me and Allanon your insight on this. Which one you like better.

« on: July 28, 2007, 11:59:10 AM »
Originally it was on the officially endorsed list, but the owner sold it to the infamous TTG Junkie, so the site is now run by a scammer, I would recommend that none of you join Runedom, or even go to the site, Cursed was screwed out of this and anyone who joins the site is supporting a scammer.

Thanks,
