I recently upigraded from a PIII mobo and cpu to a PIV mobo and cpu. I'm running Windows 98SE and up until my old cpu fried, my pc worked fine.
Now with the new mobo and cpu, my sytem is terribly slow booting up and shutting down. Shut even hangs from time to time.
Can anyone help me out on this. I thought I would be upgrading, not downgrading!

I dont think win 98SE is capable of running correctly in a P4 enviroment. Im shocked it works at all in fact.
/ohmy.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':o\' /> It sounds derastic but I think I would try upgrading my operating system to at least win 2000 if not win xp pro.

I agree! Upgrade to XP Pro. I would format the drive and start fresh. Get 512 Ram and a fast HD like a WD 7200rpm 8 meg cache and your pc should sing. Once you use XP you'll never want to use 98 or ME again. Also check your BIOS settings and make sure they are correct and optomized.
