Title: system conflict !!
Post by: Hurricane on January 10, 2004, 01:41:55 PM
Hello

I am unable to install my new dsl connection and have checked the usual problems including an uninstall and re-install of the connection,, also got help from my isp tech staff. I am running  win. me and get the following message when booting up

"system detects  a conflict for ip address 192.168.0.1 with system hardware address oo:30:AB:1A:E0:D4 "
I have tryed system restore but this also won't work...
Could this error message be the cause of me not being able to get online??
Note: a virus scan detected the LoveLetter virus which I have deleted..
 Any ideas????
 Thx in advance- Alan

What kind of card do you have. Try updating the driver for you MOBO and card. Also if it is pci. Try different slots. You may have to go into device manager and remove the NIC card first. Good luck.

could be that the dsl modem is trying to use the same local IP address as the NIC?
