/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> Alright, I borrowed Win XP froma friend, original version. I installed and found I have to crack it with in 30 days, 26 days as of this writing. My tech-expert sent me this file called, winxp_crk. And gave me instructions to crack the activation thing.
I found out in the readme, that i have to uninstall the SP1 patch if I have it(?). Though he says I don't have to uninstall it. now, can someone please explain to me how I can sucesfully get the activation thingy off my butt?

can someone help me how to crack win xp pro with sp1 on my 12 PC tnx...
-
Please can someone help me out of my self-inflicted hell. I cracked XP on my computer and it seemed to be working fine. I logged on last night and it would not go go all the way. It said Windows was not activated and would I activate it now.
If I said No it leaves me at the welcome screen. Clicking on my username login, brings the message up again. Fair enough.
If I click on yes, it brings up a screen saying this copy of windows has already been activated, click ok to exit. Unfortunately it then kicks you back to the welcome screen.
I can't even get into the system to try and sort this out. Does anyone know any files I could replace, using a boot disk which would either allow me to activate through Microsoft or probably get rid of this activation problem once and for all.
Is there a way to uninstall a crack?
Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated. It is killing me not even being able to get into my system.
Please please help

Why don't you thieves simply buy the software like every other legal and legit person. It sounds like you spend an awful lot of time finding ways to beat the system which is plain unethical. What some of you are doing is stealing plain and simple..

LOL You people are lsot so ill help you out. If you want to bypass that anoyig activation heres what you do. Go on to windows cd that you used to install it. Go to folder I386 and then look for the file unattend.txt. At the bottom of this file it will say "Producr Key" use that number instead of the product key on the box or whatever and it will bypass the activation screen.
P.s. Make sure you get the key from right off the disc. Not the one copied to your computer during isntallation.
Let me know if it works

Okay, while I admit that most people asking for methods to bypass activation are thieves: Not everyone who needs a bypass is a thief.
I've found, in my digital travels, that most people who lash out and call people thieves (or whatever) only do so to conceal the fact that they don't have any relevant information. That aside, there are those of us who payed good money for our Operating System only to have the disc lost, stolen or broken. And, before you dive into "why didn't you just get your key off your system" and all that: I would have, had I known of a way to access it without logging into XP first. DOS bootdisk can't read NTFS, so that wasn't an option. Neither was logging in. Working with User Group profiles left me stuck with none of my users able to log in (Not even the Administrator account). Reformatting would wipe the Product ID information, so it's not like I could take that path and still get my key back. So... no analog product key since the disc was stolen and no digital product key since I couldn't get into the OS to read an OS info report.
Yes, I contacted MS. Yes, they were very helpful. If you consider tree stumps helpful when it comes to passing your next astrophysics exam. They told me to buy a new disc. Sorry folks, but I'm not spending over $400 for one Operating System.
The point: If you have information, share. If you don't have it or don't wish to share it: don't post. The more you post useless items such as flames, the more cluttered you make the web for those of us who are searching for useful information.

I completely agree with what you just said. And not only can you lose your key or get it stolen, after you activate too many times, it will no longer be accepted. If your one of the millions who's computer crashes due to viruses, spyware, etc. and you have to activate many times because you have to keep reinstalling windows, its not really your fault. You can legally purchase a copy of Windows and have Microsoft [censored] you over because they can.... they just want the money. Now while i do believe that its TECHNICALLY stealling... what do you call what they are doing to us?
-
My win xp home is legal, registered, and reactivated over the internet many times - Virus(s), Trojan(s), and my own reg edit experiments. Since all windows are "leased" and not owned (insert many derogatory terms here), I'm pretty sure that I'm close to the limit of my reactivations. I would just like to activate mine without calling billy and asking for permision. This, copy the activated wpa.dbl doesn't seem to work no matter how many ways I do it in safe mode with or without comand promt before or after installing sp1.
I bought it, I paid for it, it's mine damn it. If I was leasing it I would like to know "before" I purchase it and not in the volumes of fine print during installation. Any help before billy screws me would be appreciated.

Just so people know if you have an old windozs disc. you can get an upgrade xp pro for $88 if you a student at http://www.journeyed.com/itemDetail.asp?T1=55481723 (http://\"http://www.journeyed.com/itemDetail.asp?T1=55481723\") The secret is to do a clean install, which any windows disk from Me onwards will do. You have to have a prevoius M$ windows disk....
Or you can buy an oem xp pro full copy for about $130 from like newegg.com
Activation can be a PITA I know I have done it. many times. I have to call M$ 3 or 4 times b/c I have exceded the number of activations for varioous reasons...mainly due to my swapping out hardware on 2 diff machines a lot. To M$s credit they activate it over the phone and reset the number of times. The only thing is they get real rude if you copy the number down and don't enter it directly....I wonder why....

well that's just it, when i bought my computer from the school, it came 'as is' and had no documentation or discs so i dontn know what to do since i cannot do an 'upgrade' cd option as it asks you for a previous cd like you stated. but thank you for the link sir, it comes down to Eat and have money for laundry/ or get retail version of XP from local bestbuy store

@ http://microcity4less.com/item.asp?PID=719 (http://\"http://microcity4less.com/item.asp?PID=719\") you can get xp home for $56 not counting s/h. Dude, eat macaroni and cheese for a while and pay the 56, 60 bucks. It's not very easy to download "anything" without somebody knowing about it. Every ISP will keep track if you don't know how to bypass it. Hell, if you don't stop it windows will call M$ whenever you go online, when you install programs, when you do certain actions with your computer, keep hidden files on your drive that keeps track of "everything" you do. Most of these store bought programs to clean your tracks are not what their cracked up to be. Word xp has hidden info in the documents if you don't know how to remove them. And the list goes on and on. Even comming here gives up your addee and the referer cookies pretty much tell the rest of the story. Proxies slow you down to a crawl.
Oops, sorry. Got carried away.
So far the best idea for activation that i've seen yet, if it works, is coping the unattend.txt off of the installation cd.

Hi Guys,
Providing your computer is operational, you can download (or otherwise install) Belarc Advisor, a Free Personal PC Audit Tool from...
http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html (http://\"http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html\") ~605Kb
No brainer/no options install. Run it to list all MAJOR CD/Product keys on your computer.
Lists all kinds of other neat stuff, hdwr config, patches, all installed software with version numbers and so on - a real handy 'must have' PC audit tool
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
Outputs to your current default browser. You do not need to be online! It's not a web-based service nor reports to one - it's installed on your computer and the info is yours only and private. You can save/print the output for future reference via your browser's menus.
You can run it as many times as you like. I keep the outputs saved by date/time as I make any changes to my system - an extremely useful reference. Priceless when it comes to exploring/debugging someone else's computer.
The reason they use your browser is Belarc provides a link (an underlined *) at the end of each item for you to click to get to the install directory - very cool!
Once you know the MAJOR CD/Product keys for YOUR computer, you can install/uninstall/re-install any 'Product' via any distibution method - CD's, downloads - whatever.
There are some exceptions regards minor/tertiary installs, but run the report, then decide what these exceptions may be, and if it's of concern.
For instance, if you run Diskeeper (and you should), the registered name and key is not listed with that product in the 'Software Versions' section of the output. You must obtain this info prior to doing anything like major system re-vamps & esp b4 re-formatting your drive. Natch, you can do it the hard way as well ;-)
I've run this util on many systems, some real sick one's as well, and never had a problem. Takes about 1-2 minutes to generate the report on the everage computer.
Take note - don't get click happy with this util!

Hi I'm pretty new at this stuff. The most advanced thing I've done on a computer is install hardware/dowload programs. My machine was custom built and has wim xp pro sp2(build 2600). I had some kind of trogen (trogen.gen) program. This caused me to have to uninstall everything and reinstall the window xp program along with
everything else. When i put the disk I got from the guy(bob) who built the computer(it was a copy ) into the computer to reinstall it I noticed that windows wanted me to register this copy. I called bob and told him I needed a key code with 25 characters he gave me one and when I tried to register it I could'nt microsoft said this number had already been registered many times befor. I need some relief from this crap. I tried the install cd to get the key from the unatend file but the number did'nt work also tried the product key's that were mentioned that didnt work either. I have11 days left any sugestions???
thanks for all the idea's form everyone

Ben, call micro$oft [800 936-5700], tell them the numbers on the sticker on your Dell computer is illegible, and that you already called Dell and they sent you to Micro$oft, they will ask you to read the number on the disc [look for a number in the clear center of the cd the number starts with an x] they may ask you to describe the printed name on disc ie "windows xp, dell logo or something similar"
i got that way two serial numbers one for a Dell win2000 CD and one for the Dell xp pro CD [Micro$oft knows those CDs can not be installed on a non Dell computer so they'll give you the serial number to re install].

After looking on the net for awhile I finally found a hack for win xp pro sp2 that worked. I had been turning back the computers clock but that only worked for a couple weeks. I have a question . How many times can you re-install windows? Is there a limit? Also beware of viruses when you download a potential hack program 60% of all programs I tried had a virus in it. Don't download anything unless you have a antivirus program Good luck brother hackers...

I've followed this thread for some time hoping to simply fix the problems caused by SP2 (i've got xp pro). My problem is I can't use any of the excellent advice here because my system won't let me change the key, despite trying all the various programs mentioned that normally do this. It seems I am blocked in some way from changing the key. Any suggestions?

Ok, this is really starting to get frustrating. I have a Windows XP SP1 disk fully legit that i got from my dell, I try installing it on my Toshiba, but when it gets to the key IT WONT ACCEPT ANYTHING! I have seiously tried everything. It says to enter the product key found on the side of my dell, I do it yet it doesnt work. Could it be because I'm running ME? Or maybe becuase it's recognizing that my Toshiba isn't my dell? I've tried these corporate things by changing pid, ive tried the product key in unatted in I386, and ive tried all both product keys on each computer using magic jellybean. NO MATTER WHAT IT WONT ACCEPT!!! What do i do? And btw this is not fair because I ACTUALLY OWN THE PRODUCT.

After six years of using Linux I need to install windows on three computers for my son and two daughters who are attending high school. I have three computers and one copy of windows xp. This means that I have to find a program to crack the activation for two computers. I believe that some of the cracks are virus laden, just dont work, or are too complicated.
Meanwhile, all i have to say is that.........I will be glad when Linux gets more popular so i dont have to bother with windows at all anymore.

Cheers!

I used a crack and now everything I try and log into windows it gives me the repeat screen of doom. It says its trying to activate windows then it says its already activated. Then it logs off and you do the whole process over and over and it never ends.
Now its trying to activate by phone, but its doing itself automatically and it doesnt give you the option to click. After a few seconds it logs you back out and you are forced to do it over and over.
Can anyone help?

For those of you stuck in "limbo" there's a cheap way to run programs while windows is prompting you to activate (usually right after login)
Push Win+U to bring up utilities (and the narrator)
On either the narrator or the utilities control, click Help
Click Options | Internet Options...
Click the Privacy tab
Click Import
this will pull up a file browser from which you can run any program
locate the program you want to run (it often helps to select All Files under Files of type) then right-click on the .exe you want to run and select Open. NOTE: double-clicking will cause an error, you must right-click | Open.

I've installed a copy of Win XP Pro SP2, and when it prompted for a cd key i used the keygen and it worked fine. but now it's installed, when i try to activate using all the cracks and methods mentioned, it just wont work. Do you have to crack WinXP before installing SP2?? I only have a copy with SP2 already included! Can I just do a clean install and use a "corporate" serial? does this really avoid all activation issues? and if so, can i still use the same keygen to get my product key... man it's tiring being a cheat sometimes...

This is only going tohelp a few of you. I read yalls post the other day (thursday i think) and and found a few truths. One guy says to download and run that utiity from that one site to get your installed productid number. This works great for doing that. However, and this is where i got caught, I are running Dell install disks. NO I did not have the coas to go with them. Now when I run that litle utility it comes up with believe it or not the same install id. I thought ody thats weird so i put a different HD in my dell and reinstalled same disks (an being a dell they do not have to be activated) and ran said utility again and came up with the same product ids on both installs. Now i know (because i have done it) that you can use those disk with your coas on any comp and every thing is okay and activates. My problem is the dell disks I bought were XP PRO not home and the XP HOME coa numbers dont work with XP Pro. Yes both my del bought comps have home on them. NOw my issue is I can change both my Dell comps to Pro and use the Home disks elswhere or i can call my friend with a Dell with XP PRO get his COA number from him and try it. Guess what, It works and activates, and updates. So the long and short of all this is if you are using a Dell oem disk just find an approriate (IE HOME OR PRO) COA number and use it. My local library has a lot of dell comps loaded with XP PRO that can be wrote down and used (I THINK).No I am not telling you to do that its just someplace I saw that had those COAs displayed.

Ok,
I need two ??'s answering. Firstly, i'm currently downloading xp 64 bit edition. I'm using a crack copy of 32 bit pro by using the FCKGW key and changing to a corporate key. Will i be able to install 64 bit edition using the key number in unattend.txt, not activate and then change the key to my 32bit corporate key DMV3H-K8YRF-QCMVM-823KK-B8737? If not can someone tell me a corproate key that will work?
Secondly, my friend has loaned me a copy of XP home that already has SP2 integrated (i think, if not it has 1A) can i use the FCKGW key or should i use the key in unattend.txt not activate and change to a corproate key

For what it's worth... try activating XP with your LEGIT windows xp disk in the CD Drive. I just activated it, whilst looking up the "I386/unattend.txt" code and it went through fine, even though the last 10 reinstalls I've had to phone up Bangladesh or some [censored] to get it activated.

Heh you know i went though the same thing. I wanted a cd with SP1 installed so i didnt half to spend 2 hours installing sp1 and 2 on my maching everytime i reinstalled it. Well here a few tips for those (If they can find it) Get the orginal XP before sp 1 and 2 (I got build 2600 so yea) and that one ask you to give the key during the setup. No key activation [censored]. Well i found a program where i can slipstreem (Or combine) Sp 1 and 2 into my copy. I got a Corporate key from my friend who gave me XP over 3 years ago when it first came out. Now i just use that key all the time. Used it on I dont know how many computers. Great thing? 1) No online activatoin 2) the key IS LEGIAL just i'm using it illeagly but hey how they gonna really know? 3) heh I got more then one key that is good. got a WHOLE list... I want to put up my XP cd up on the net but i have no where or not enough bandwith for my webserver to put it up. WHen i get real webspace i'll put it up somewhere... but its a though for those who keep having to deal with that activation [censored]...

I downloaded Windows Xp Professional using Bittorrent, then activated it with a crack in found on a site. Then windows told me windows was activated already. So I've used it for awhile then it tells me windows needs to be activated, so I push yes but then it says "windows has already been activated". So now I log on and push yes activate but it just says already activated and logs me out. I'm completely locked out of the computer....
Ive tried other activators but none work
I can still manage to log on in safe mode though...

Dear friend,
Please send me the process method to crack win XP sp1.
Have a nice day ;-)
-
Hi everybody,
I recently reinstalled Windows XP with SP2 and the activation worked fine (thanks god!). To make sure it was activated correctly, I typed "C:\WINDOWS\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a" and the window that appeared confirmed it.
Now yesterday when I tried to open a session, a warning window appeared with this message: "You have 7 days remaining to activate Windows XP. Do you want to active it now? (Yes/No)". So I hit "Yes" and the activation window appeared again. However, the window showed me that XP was already activated, then the session opened without problem !
I'm a little confused right now. Is windows really activated or will my pc be screwed in 7 days ? I don't want to reinstall again, and would like to know if anyone ever saw this or know what to do before the deadline...
Thanks for the support guys,
Frank

In seven days you will be locked out of windows. I happened to me. Try to use other activation cracks.

Hey all you haxorz. It is clear that we have defeated you all here at Microsoft. Almost any software out there can easily be cracked. You can do a quick google search and activate anything. Anything except Windows XP. None of the "hacks" suggested here actually work. Even if they work on SP1, then I get you on SP2.
Admit it, we beat you. "Hackers" my 100 billion dollar butt! We have won.
Linux would be problematic, but it can't even run the simplest games. You "free thinkers" and commies can't even get Linux to run games.
What a crock! Everyone here on this message board, I just want to thank you in advance for the $89 you'll be spending with me in the next 30 days!

Wath happens if I have a xp pro key, not corp, then I create a registry file with the fololowing content? I found this in the bluelust keygen
w i n d o w s R e g i s t r y E d i t o r V e r s i o n 5 . 0 0
[ H K E Y _ L O C A L _ M A C H I N E \ S O F T W A R E \ M i c r o s o f t \ W i n d o w s N T \ C u r r e n t V e r s i o n \ W P A E v e n t s ]

So this thing show will make msoob.exe says taht my pc is activated, but is there any side effects for doing this? (so my pc now not using corp key)

[quote name=\'origrudeboy\' date=\'Feb 17 2005, 06:55 AM\']Please can someone help me out of my self-inflicted hell.

Sup guys,
here's my problem: when I bought my new PC, Windows XP Home with SP1 was already installed and activated. The store where I bought it also gave me a legit CD of the Windows version installed on my machine.
Couple of months later, I had the format and reinstall everything using my legit WinXP cd and cdkey. Everything when ok until the Activation warning popped when there was 7 days remaining. I try all I could to activate and it just won't work. I even called Microsoft but the guy wouldn't give me an activation code, instead he wanted to charge me 15 dollars for a new cdkey...
So, I decided to listen to someone I knew and use his crack to hide the activation warning. The problem now is that this stupid crack didn't stop the activation, it only hides it for a couple days. So right now my 30 days are over, I can only boot in safemode, and when I try to repair/install, the activation sill won't work and let me boot normally.
I'd like to have your ideas. Should I find a crack that works via safemode (that's the only way I can boot...)? I don't want to buy a new cdkey nor to reformat
/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

Windows Autokey
http://tinyurl.com/9s4mr
This is a program which creates a 1.4mb high density floppy boot disk for getting around Windows NT and XP serial keys.
Run the program with a formatted floppy and then it will tell you that all content on the disk will be erased. Once you make the disk reset the computer with the disk and the NT or XP setup CD in the computer.
When windows is installing it will seem to skip the part where you enter your serial key as it decodes it out of the windows cd.
Have Fun

I want to install at home but don't want to be locked out of my computer after 30 days if I can't activate it. Any ideas???

Concerning this method....
Hey. I know a way.
ONLY WORKS WITH SP1
Go on regedit and find HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents , then go on OOBETimer and delete everything there. Then go on phone activation and type in 401111 for every box. It should work (Until you install SP2, which resets it.)
If anyone knows a way that works for SP2 then email me!!!
rossyboy8Email Removed
I have used this method before, it worked perfectly, but I cannot get it to work now.
I am installing Windows XP Home Edition (OEM) from the same CD as last time, same keycode on the installation, same hdd, (so I have 2 copies of it on the same hdd, against M$'s reccomendations it seems).
I also have WinXP Corp installed on a different hdd, though I can't imagine that being important.
I followed rossyboy8's instructions right after installation, regedit > delete as much of the data as I'm allowed to in OOBETimer > register with the telephone option using 401111 in each box. It let me fill in all the boxs, but told me to check the number when I hit the button.
To be sure I then deleted the OOBETimer entry from my registry, but it seems the activation executable won't even run without the OOBETimer registry entry.
I then added the entry back (as an empty binary entry), then cleared the LastWPAEventLog entry (the only other entry in that directory of the registry), but this didn't help.
The only thing I haven't tried is deleting the LastWPAEventLog entry.... is there any way this method will work with my other installation of Windows on the same hdd?
Should I just reinstall to my other hdd?
Thanks for your time.
(Yes, I do want 3 installations of Windows XP.)

If you think pirating software is wrong, you're thinking like a moron. They're the ones that rip you off by overcharging you for the damn software! They're the thieves. On top of that, as stated, as they're trying to stop piracy, they mess up legitimate installations of windows with their ridiculous activation! If they didn't want people to pirate it, they'd sell it for a reasonable price and allow you to install it as many times as you want without having to deal with the stupid activation.
Microsoft might be smart though... I've heard a rumor that there may be a free version of Windows Vista. I don't know how true this is, though.
I could say more, but I'm going to stop now.
-
I know this information will be useless for some but for those of you that have just installed XP Home Edition servicepack1 and can not find your Product Key go to microsoft.com and find sp2. The last time I checked microsoft would mail it to you at no cost. It said 2-4 weeks shipping but I got mine in two days. You can install it at any time and it will reset the activation back to 30 days. The best thing to do is wait till the last day and then install it. It does not solve the problem of activation but it will buy you some more time. I have no idea if it works on any other version of XP sp1 but I don't see why not.
-
For those of you with XP sp1 that can only boot in safemode. I know for a fact that you can install sp2 but whether or not it will reset activation back to 30 days I'm not sure because the one time I had to install it in safe mode it was on a machine that was already activated. It's worth a shot.

KISS YOUR ASS IN 7 STEPS.
number one:
open note pad copy and paste the following text:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents]
"OOBETimer"=hex:ca,82,b8,55,d4,04,b5,cf,cc,5b,24,00
save the text as de.reg onto your desktop so you can find it.
NUMBER 2
double click on the de.reg on your desktop and say yes and add it to the registry.
NUMBER 3
Click "Start" and go to "Run..."
Type in %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a and click "OK"
This will bring up the "Activate Windows" window.
NUMBER 4
Check the option for "Yes, I want to telephone a customer service

Then click "Change Product Key" (don't enter any information on that screen)
Type in a product key, I mean your product key.
and click "Update"
NUMBER 5
The activate Windows by phone window will reappear at this point, just JUST CLOSE THE WHOLE THING DOWN BY CLICKING "X" in the upper right hand corner
NUMBER 6 (almost there your going to [censored] when you see how quick this is.)
Activate Windows by copying the following text into a new notepad and save it as up.reg on you desktop, once again so its easy to find.

Sorry I had to quote all of that. But i'm just curious to how people find out how to manipulate windows like this. Or any program for that matter. Knowing what to type, and what numbers to put where, so on and so forth. And I don't want to hear "Someone else showed me." That doesn't answer the question. Is there some master comp user that knows all and teaches the willing? Cause I want to take his class.

Look, at close to 200$ a pop, legally you should buy a Win XP Home cd for every computer you want to install it in your home.
Why can't we have to option of installing it on all the computer we have at home? It is the HOME edition after all. We should be able to pay just 200$ once, then install it on as many computers we want, as long as they are ours.
Its such a rip off... They could make a system where u call MS and tell them how many pcs you have and they would just activate your license for a specific number of computers.
And what if you buy a new computer? You have to buy Win XP again?!?!? I tell them go to hell! Lemme crack my Win XP for my own home. I'm no thief. Every other software I buy I install on any computer in my home and I don't copy it to anyone, does that make me a thief?!?!?!?

I don't agree with that. All you need is doing some registry tweaks
in YOUR registry on YOUR computer. That's not stealing!! It's handling your computer like an expert.
But haywood, I'm glad you keep paying to Bill gates so the software they're making will be better anyway and we can still keep tweaking the registry........

THIS APPLIES FOR ANYONE STUCK IN 'LIMBO'...
This information is made up of common sense and helpful posts that I found here. Beware "Activation cracks" as recently they haven't seemed to be doing their jobs (except for Antiwpa which is our saviour!)...
At the time of writing an active link to a .zip file containing Antiwpa was present on this forum, I downloaded Antiwpa via this link and have successfully used it.
Thanks to Script Kiddies Next Door for the info below!
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Before performing the steps below you need to have downloaded Antiwpa (Antiwpa-V3.4.6 for X64 and X86.zip has a file size of 21.4Kb, be careful as they'll be fakes out there) and have put it (in an extracted form) on floppy, CD or flash disc.
Allow Windows to boot and click 'Yes' when it says that your installation needs to be activated. When the window stating that "Windows has already been activated" appears click Win+U (the Windows Key + U). This will bring up a Utilities manager and a Narrator.
On either the narrator or the utilities control, click Help
Click Options | Internet Options...
Click the Privacy tab
Click Import
Now browse to whatever medium you have used and execute AntiWPA2.cmd / AntiWPA3.cmd (depending on your version of Antiwpa).
Reboot the computer and it's done!
NB: AntiWPA3.cmd must be executed from within Windows as it uses some Windows apps to edit registry key, etc.
Good luck
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
-
EDIT FOR ABOVE POST:
When opening the Antiwpa .cmd file you need to right click it and click 'Open', else you get an error.
-
I prefer to boot into safe mode (F8 on boot) and run antiwpa3.
If you loose the link to antiwpa posted above, it moves at times, try http://antiwpa4.tk (http://\"http://antiwpa4.tk\")
except for Antiwpa which is our saviour!
CW2K is the author of Antiwpa
-
Anybody used the above successfully for more than 30 days?
Kindest Regards~

the way to solve all winblows problems
download fedora, redhat, mandrake, suse...ect (they are all free)
make a boot disk with it
format the winblows drive
and load the linux os
problem solved and you helped the world by not paying microsuck for inferior os'
if you really want a microsuck os get one for free
all data should be free
-
1- Choose a distribution of Linux that looks good to YOU from the Baskin-Linux 31 flavors. Keeping in mind that you can't base your choice on what people recommend, because deep-down the choice has to be a personal soul-searching event to find a flavor that suits your needs AND your usability preferences.
2- Pray that you have broadband.
3- Download said Linux flavor (usually multiple CD-sized downloads [600-700MB] in order to get it all)...
4- Pray you downloaded the ISO versions so that you can just burn to CD and go rather than figure out how to make the CD's boot.
5- Make backups of your data files or kiss them good-bye.
6- Record said flavor of Linux to CD's.
7- Boot from the first CD and pray that setup actually recognizes your hardware and works... and follow the unnecessarily complicated setup instructions to decide how to partition and format your hard drive (thus eliminating Windows and anything else you had)
8- Pray that your flavor actually supports your hardware in GUI mode or that you're comfortable with a super-amazing, powerful command prompt that can do anything and everything--- if you know how to spell and use all the commands... and parameters... etc etc.
9- Select from dozens, sometimes even hundreds of "packages" to install.
10- Complain and whine and cuss about how Windows should have all this stuff too while cursing their name for every time they try and you think they're violating antitrust agreements.
11- Boot into Linux and enjoy the extremely secure, extremely functional environment you've created for yourself.
12- Cuss, scream, and pound on things because you can't really use any of it without ripping out hair because of the downright stupid GUI environment or the complicated command line. Afterall, "yum check-update" only works on Fedora Core to check for updates, but if you want to install them you must use "yum update" (keeping in mind the irony that "Updates are YUMmy" (and there are dozens of them) even though we all whine that Windows releases them and it ticks us off.

Were thieves? Just look at the money Microsoft is making off a copy of windows. They are the thieves. I'm just about ready to go to Linux

if xp was *truly* affordable...say £25. we would not be having this discussion would we? gates & his cronies would still make thier $$$ billions.
re: the "why don't you all buy a legit copy" brigade...financially security breeds smug-faced "i'm all right jack" preachers...yes?
sadly linux et al is still a geeks toy, not a viable alternative. the monopolies commision or whatever should force microsoft to make xp affordable to the masses.

There is a damn good reason for cracking a Windows XP software. As a company, we have a Microsoft Action Pack Subscription with 10 licenses of Windows XP for instance. But as developpers and testers, it often happens that we have to reinstall, add a new disk, change the motherboard, and so on and so forth. After two or three activations, it started to say that activation was not valid
/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' /> and that we had to call Microsoft.
Okay, the procedure is a bit stupid, but: first you call, you have to enter 8x6 digits through your phone, second, it tells you it is invalid (which obviously you knew already), thrid you hold to line to get in contact with a "service operator", fourth, you have to give him (AGAIN) the 8x6 digits that are on your screen, fifth, he will give you another 8x6 digits code, and your copy is activated correctly.
(Usually, after two hours it crashes and you have to re-install it...)
/blink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
Anyway... "Juste un coup de gueule..."

Ok, I have read every post and tried everything to fix my problem. To be honest, I don't even know what my problem is, exactly. Just recently a few of my programs have stopped working (AVG, ZoneAlarm, iTunes, Quicktime, etc.) for a reason that I'm not even sure of. Some say the installation is corrupt and some just don't respond. I am under the impression it's because I can't update Windows since I have a bootleg version of XP Pro. I bought this computer from someone else and didn't know it had a bootleg version. I tried using a keygen to register it and it says I have a ridiculously long amount of time before I Need to register it but everytime I try to validate it on the Windows site, it fails. If anyone can give me any advice it is much appreciated.
And please, no bitching about me being a thief. I didn't know it was bootlegged and I'm too poor to just up and buy a licensed copy.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Uninstall sp2 from add remove programs
I wouldn't recommend installing XP SP1 without first changing your CD-KEY if yours is a Warez'ed copy.
run regedit, navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents\OOBEtimer
and change the value to: ca,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 - this will delete your key and make your XP un-registered.
To RE-register a CORP XP PRO with a new CD-KEY, run: %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a from START-> RUN, select the TELEPHONE option and hit NEXT, click on the CHANGE PRODUCT KEY button, enter the new CORP key, hit UPDATE, this will take you to the previous window, from there, just EXIT and REBOOT. Your SP1 and Windows Update will now work.

I have a prefectly legal copy of windows xp home edition, but I don't feel like calling up microsoft and waiting on hold for an hour to have them push activation for me, can someone please help me out here?
-
Ok, I googled around a while ago because I too needed XP and I couldn't find it (I paid for it but lost the CD). I found this thread and it helped me a lot with the antiwpa stuff
But I realized that the easiest thing to do is to download a torrent downloader (I prefer bitcomet) and just torrent this file:
http://thepiratebay.org/details.php?id=3415196 (http://\"http://thepiratebay.org/details.php?id=3415196\")
It is XP Pro SP2, Corporate Edition
this means that not once will it ask you for activation or serial number. I just came back to post this because I cant stand when people find an easier alternative and never come back to tell others. It only took me 2 hours to download b/c there are so many seeders
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
This is also much safer than antiwpa-ing another copy of XP because this is nulled and therefore does not have any relations with MS anymore
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> It also has 0 viruses and spyware implemented into the software itself unlike many other XP versions that you might download. Antiwpa and the other cracks are TOO risky. Cracks always have spyware and stuff and you don't want that on your pc. I promise you this is the best way to go (if you dont believe me, ask the other 40000 people that have downloaded it
/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />)
Mods, feel free to delete this post as it obviously does pertain to torrenting; i just assumed a post with antiwpa links in it couldnt really get hurt by any other similar posts
/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
If you have any torrent questions, just ask..

i dont understand why its so difficult to have an xp whithout bay in at just go at torrentspy.com or torrentreactor.net and download one it will have a file that tells u how to actvate or most of the times u dont have to wen i got my xp i intallit and it never ask me for an activation i just had to get an windows genuine advantage validation and now i dont have any problem whith that i have intalled on all my friends computer and it works great
-
Hey there, first time here. I found this forum very usefull. I was in the same situation. Had to re-format and everything was fine, then all of the sudden, the Activation loop.
So to get around this, get the WPA Kill software from the net. It comes with instructions. But basically if you are locked out, log into XP in safe mode if you can still get on the internet, you are golden. If not get it from someone on disk. Basically all you do is run this program and it takes out the WPA registraion out of the registry.
Hope this helps

My XP SP2 said I had to re-activate after changing the filesystem of one of my drives form FAT32 to NTFS. Nice feature. I have an original XP licence. My key would not re-activate, so I tried a crack to keep working. After 3 days I got the endless loop: Log in, Say I have to reactivate, get the screen with only the OK-button and the message ít's already activated, click OK and log out...
Even safe mode didn't work.
/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />
FOUND THE SOLUTION!
Press F8 while starting, but choose save mode with command prompt. It will let you in. Start up regedit and change the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/Currentversion/WPAEvents key.
Reboot and the normal reactivation screen will appear.
Then I dialed the Micro[censored] number and I had to enter the 8x6 code by phone. It couldn't be verified and I was immediately connected to a helpdesk officer who gave me an activationid within two minutes...
I wanted to avoid to call Micro[censored], but it dit cost me a lot of frustration, time and trouble. The call took only 5 minutes totally on a toll-free number.
Good luck.

For the love of $#%^$#^$##&&%$, all those supposed cracks don't work! Here are the 2 easiest ways to get Xp activated!
1) Got to a torrent site like torrentz.com or torrentreactor.com do a search fow 'Windows XP Corporate Edition', download, get key, burn, install and done with no activation.
2) If you were dumb enough to give $400 or so to Bill Gate$ and his cronies or burnt Xp Home or an OEM or regular retail copy of Xp, go to http://antiwpa.btwarehouse.org (http://\"http://antiwpa.btwarehouse.org\") and download the patch from there. THIS IS THE ONLY PATCH THAT WILL PERMANTLEY ACTIVATE WINDOWS XP WITHOUT ANY B/S IN THE FUTURE. THIS IS MORE CLEVER THAN OTHER PATCHES AND WILL FIX IT, NOT DELAY IT. To give u an idea on how it works, Windows processes a file on startup called 'winlogon.exe' which amongst other things performs an activation check to make sure that u have activated or how many days u have left. When u boot into safe mode, 'winlogon.exe' is prevented from performing the activation check by the windows kernel. This patch trick winlogon.exe into thinking it is running in safe mode, even when it's in Normal mode. If u run the windows activation app, (Go start>run>%systemroot\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a , or on some systems upgraded from windoze 2000 (2k) or NT Workstation 4.0 c:\WINNT\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a ) windoze appears to be activated, it even says so itslef. This is not one of those tricks that merely delays the activation process. I have been running Xp Home on my crapbox here at home with it on it for just over a year and it has never asked me 2 activate windoze. I hope this helps yall out. please PM if u have an probs.
Ashton.
P.S. By using Corporate edtion, u may not be able to install service packs if u use certain keys from a keygen. If u installed using a key beginning with FCKGW u will have 2 change to a legit corporate key. I won't list the keys here but i do have them. i can give u a link pointing u how to change the key in corporate edition only. http://labmice.techtarget.com/windowsxp/ar...es/changeID.htm (http://\"http://labmice.techtarget.com/windowsxp/articles/changeID.htm\")
-
Yeah, people waste too much time searching for cracks.
There a many different versions of Corporate editions. Just download one that suits you.
Or roll your own with nLite.
-
YYZ361, plz tell me more on how u roll ur own with nLite, plz!

I got a copy off windows xp home edition, activation came up saying i had 26 days to activate.i tried to activate it and it told me this key has passed its alootted number off activations, but when i turned my pc back on it came up windows must be activated in 30 days again. Will doing this set my activation back to 30 days each time?

haven't seen FittMunken's guide??
How to bypass WPA (Windows Activation) on Windows XP. - by FittMunken
Tested on Windows XP Professional SP2 and Windows Server 2003 R2.
First, click "Run..." on your start menu, type "regedit" and press enter.
The Registry Editor opens up, and you are presented with a long list of keys on the left.
Browse through the list to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WPAEvents.
(If you can't find this key, you're screwed!)
On the right, you should see a stringz value named OOBETimer.
This is the activation stuff. If you change it, Windows will change it back within a few seconds.
Whatever its value is, change it to FF D5 71 D6 8B 6A 8D 6F D5 33 93 FD.
(At first I thought this was different for each machine/serial number, but it's always the same if windows is activated...LOL)
After you've changed it, right-click WPAEvents and choose "Permissions..."
A little window opens up with a list of user names. Click SYSTEM, and in the list below ("Permissions for SYSTEM") check every box under "Deny". Click OK to own windows. You don't even have to reboot lol.
If you're too slow windows might change it back, so just hit F5 to refresh and make sure it got saved.
If not, just try again. Microsoft owns for making it so easy to hack their software.
So, just keep on enjoying an activated version of windows. FittMunken over and out!
And if you need to download windows, here are a few places to get it:
You obviously need a bittorrent client, and you might as well make sure to download the best one!
www.utorrent.com owns all other bittorrennt clients. in fact, all other clients suck.

I was having problems getting Windows Server 2003 64-Bit activated and I happened to find a site selling a custom operating system dvd that contains Windows 98se, Windows 2000 Pro, Windows XP Pro, Windows XP Pro 64-Bit, Windows Server 2003 Enterprise, Windows Server 2003 64-Bit Enterprise, & Hiren's Boot CD 7.7 all on one DVD. It was only $50, so I bought it and paid for it with PayPal, then immediately downloaded it from their website. I tried installing Server 2003 64-Bit, and it was already activated and it works great. I then tried installing the rest of them and none of them require activation! The site is http://www.customoperatingsystemdvd.com/ (http://\"http://www.customoperatingsystemdvd.com/\") ... check it out.

Anonymous, that is VERY interesting. Can you tell me the versions/builds/sp of the 64 bit OS's? Thanks.

Help, it's Tax Day and Win Media Center 2005 SP2 says that I MUST ACTIVATE and won't let me log on!. About 2 months or so ago I installed WMC2005. After install I used a small "crack" from a friend (it replaced the "winlogin.exe" (or something like that)). The crack got rid of the nag screen telling me to Activate Windows. I thought all was fine, until today. I booted up and I get "you must ACTIVATE with microsoft" I can NOT even boot into safe mode. Is there any way to activate the software now? One more thing, I went into the "change Product Key" screen and tried a few SN I had laying around (it will not take any of them, and I am not exactly sure what the original was....). Any suggestions would be welcome, If I can't Activate then it is back to Win98se. I really need to do my taxes too!

HELP PLEASE:
I had run out of days to activate, so I switched to a different app and used the open dialog to open regedit32.exe. I then did fittmunkens method, and it seemed to work...it said it was already activated. But then when I click 'done' it logs me off. When I log back in I get eth same thing over again.
In my WAP_EVENTS KEY, there was also a wpa_lastevent entry along with the OOBETimer entry. Maybe I should delete that wpa_lastevent key? THat key is missing on my other machine which was legally activated....

I used FittMunken's guide by booting into SafeMode and using the Task Manager to run regedit. I changed OOBETimer to the values listed. I checked Deny for System permissions on the top 2 boxes, but did not mess with special permissions.
I rebooted into normal Windows and noticed a change that looked initially very promising when I clicked "Yes" to activate Windows at the login screen. I had the normal top 2 options of activating over the Internet or the phone, but the last one, which previously said "No, log me off" now says "No, remind me to activate Windows every few days" and below that, it says "If you wait to activate, you can still use Windows, but you will receive periodic reminders. After 1539123732 days, you must activate Windows before you can continue to use it."
I excitedly clicked No but the friggin thing sent me back to the login screen, asking again to activate. I can use my computer via the Help link that opens an IE window, but I'm wondering if I missed something, or if there is another step I should take. For instance, should I go into advanced and Deny some of, or all of, those permissions?

Hello. Does anyone know the key differences between a corp XP with SP2 cd and a retail XP with SP2 cd? I am asking because I'm on dialup and it would take several days to download a corp ISO, but if I just knew what to modify it could be done with my available non-corp copies. And those devilsown corpfiles don't work, believe me.
This could be done easily with QuickSFV and a pair of corp and non-corp discs.
Thanks,
The Lightning Stalker

Okay, I'm going to answer my own post which is something I often do.
With the help of Casolai, who has a copy of what seems to be a genuine volume license disc which can successfully be slipstreamed to SP2, we were able to determine which files are different from a standard to a VL (corp) installer. There are 11, and also the boot image is different, but this may not be a factor. They are:
Dpcdll.dl_
Eula.txt
Intl.inf
Nt5inf.ca_
Oembios.bi_
Oembios.ca_
Oembios.da_
Oembios.si_
Pidgen.dll
Rdpdd.dl_
Setupp.ini
Now the eula.txt file couldn't do anything and the oembios.* files are only used by OEMs like Dell to check the BIOS before installing. Oembios.bi_ alone is 12MiB of extra baggage! Last but not least, intl.inf doesn't do anything but set up the language files. So this leaves us with:
Dpcdll.dl_ <--Purported to contain the time bomb in non VL editions
Nt5inf.ca_ <--some type of security catalog. possibly not needed
Pidgen.dll <--Product ID Generator
Rdpdd.dl_ <--Remote desktop protocol
Setupp.ini <--Bet you already guessed this one!
You'll notice these are basically the same files as were in the devilsown corp pack, so there must be differences that SP1 & 2 know about. I cannot provide these files or tell you where they are but I can provide a .sfv file that you can use to test files available on the net to see if they're the right ones.

The activation cracks do not work. I have tried it and once it got to 23 day mark it came up with the activation notice, once I said yes to activate, it told me it was already activated...so I had to reformat and get a friend to call Microsoft to get the activation code. The cracks do not work.
I have a corporate edition of XP Pro..it does not need activating.

I tried Fittmunken's suggestion and it seemed to work... at least it stopped bugging me about activating my windows product. So, I'm a newbie, but I'd like to expand upon this method that was given earlier, as I see more than a few people are having problems getting it to work.

The problem most of you are probably having is when you get to the "Permissions" section, so allow me to expand on this tricky area.
Under "Permissions..." for WPAEvents, Go into the Advanced settings.
UNCHECK "Inhereit from parent the permission entries that apply to child objects. Include these with entries explicitly defined here"
When prompted what course of action to take from here, click "COPY"
From there, Highlight the SYSTEM line, and click edit.
Deny all options, apply, and run a free copy of windows.
-
Thanks for the clarification, but it still asks me if I want to activate windows. I now have 2 days left only...
-
I dont know if someone has found a solution to the looping message "This copy of windows has already been activated" when trying to login after your 30 days is up. I just found a work around after a very late night of fooling around with windows. Ill post the crack and the steps to run the crack on the computer. YOU WILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD THE CRACK AND BURN IT TO A DISK OR PUT IT ON A MEMORY STICK because networking wil be disabled while applying it.
First:
1. Start up the computer and tap F8 before you see the windows screen. Then choose, Safe mode with Command Prompt.
2. Let windows boot and then login if needed. Wait for command prompt to open.
3. Click the X on the command prompt window and then hit CTRL+ALT+Delete
4.Once task manager opens, hit file, New task.
5. Type Explorer.exe and then let the desktop + startmenu load.
6. Now take the downloaded crack from above, and either plug in your memory stick or put in the disk. Run the crack and hit APPLY/BROWSE button at the bottem of the window. Let it patch and then close it once it says its complete.
7.Restart the computer and logon normally
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> ENJOY!
THE PATCH IS ATTACHED TO THIS POST. Reply with any questions/comments.

OH MY GOD
enough with the "just go out and buy the software" talk. Are you serious? Microsoft has been selling a horrible product to a largely captive audience for 20+ years. It was Bill Gates who stole the original OS from some poor sap in the first place. You know they test the software on us to make it better right? How many times have you bought a computer with windows on it, then, because of some error you lose everything, and then microsoft wont even kick you down with a new copy? How many hours have I wasted trying to fix a problem created by windows? I reserve the right to download, crack and bitch-slap Microsoft all I want.
Anyone who says I'm stealing needs to change their beleifs. Hey, we all have alot of beleifs, not all of them can be correct. When you realize one is false...GET RID OF IT !

[quote name=\'chmod777\' post=\'76665\' date=\'Dec 11 2005, 09:17 PM\']Ok, I googled around a while ago because I too needed XP and I couldn't find it (I paid for it but lost the CD).

I promise you this is the best way to go (if you dont believe me, ask the other 40000 people that have downloaded it
/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> )
Mods, feel free to delete this post as it obviously does pertain to torrenting; i just assumed a post with antiwpa links in it couldnt really get hurt by any other similar posts
/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
If you have any torrent questions, just ask..[/quote]
your post tells me there is no such torrent/

Hey everyone, I also have been playing around with this . . . I do have a corp edition of XP that I've been using for a while now, but I did get a valid copy of XP as well. I spent a lot of time reading up on the cracks for activation, and finally put together a package that should work for anyone ( at least with SP2 ). I guarantee you there is no junk, no viruses, trojans, etc in this package, it is very small, only takes about 10 seconds to run, and a reboot, and it's a done deal! Email me at i.collect.70s.stuffEmail Removed if you want to give it a try and I'll email it to you.
Oh yea, did I mention that you don't have to boot into safe mode for this to work??
Of course it's stripping out my email, the domain is gmail.com

is this legal?

A friend of mine recently got a very bad virus on her computer and the entire drive needed a partition. She has a gateway, but could not find her operating system disk to reinstall windows xp. She used my OEM cd from gateway to reinstall windows xp on her computer, but immediantly got the "Activation Required" notification. I tried using her Key to activate but it wouldn't work. After many long hours of searching, we came across this little trick, and it worked for her! Not sure if it will work on anything besides XP, but can't hurt to try it!! Good Luck..........
To Activate Windows XP without key code........
Go To Start- Run- Type in regedit
Go to Hkey Local Machine and click the +
Software click +
Microsoft click +
Windows NT click +
Current Version click +
WPA Events
On the right, there should be something that says "oobetimer", right click and hit modify
Delete the letter/number code and replace with this.......
FF D5 71 D6 8B 6A 8D 6F D5 33 93 FD then click OK
Quickly (you only have a few seconds before the system will change the number code back) go back to WPA Events on left, Right click on permissions
Highlight the user SYSTEM and put a check under DENY for everthing
Click Apply, then OK to everything.
Restart your computer
Check to make sure you are activated
Go to Start, Run, Type in %systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe \a
click ok
If you did everything right, you should get a message that says, "Windows is already activated"
And yes, after this, I was able to install Windows Updates on her computer and it even passed the "Genuine Windows Validation Tool"
From what I understand, the code that is being changed is the same on EVERY computer once Windows XP has been activated. Anyways, Good Luck:)

Somewhat off the thread topic but I just bought a used PC that has no OS currently installed on it, and I'll have it in a couple of days. I do have a sealed CD and instruction booklet with MS Windows XP Pro that was supposedly intended to reinstall XP on a Dell Computer (the pc is not a dell). The CD has a green and white label and it notes: "The software is already installed on your computer. Only use this CD to reinstall the operating system on a Dell computer". At the top it says "Reinstallation CD, Microsoft Windows XP Professional Including Service Pack 2". On the shrink wrap are Dell part numbers, bar code and rev A00. On the MS boklet inside, it says the COA might be required to complete the operating system setup.
So the question of the hour is whether this cd will allow me to install XP Pro with SP2 on the new PC, and then... will it ask for a COA key code to complete the install? I have a hunch that this CD was part of a corporate install package, but I'm only guessing.

thanks

It seems that people are questioning the crack that is used for my solution. Many people seem to have done it the way I discovered and it worked for them, and also me. As for the crack, it seems people can no longer download it, so I will repost it shortly. EDIT: I just downloaded the crack but something inside the zip is messed up.... looks like someone tampered with it :-\ I'll reattach it to this post.

Still not working.

Try to download with flashget or other download manager, this is the only way that works for me.
-
I did something one month ago in the regedit that worked and then during one of windows updates about 7 days ago it added some logon authenticty crap and I was locked out, so I tried:
Generic Antiwpa-2.1.5-winXP-2k3........and nothing.
I then tried:
Antiwpa-V3.4.6 for X64 and X86
and it magically worked and I got back in.
My question is, should I turn off those automatic windows updates?
I'm pretty much an idiot with this stuff so I appreciate the feedback
Thanks

So I decided to upgrade my Desktop from windows 2k to XP. I have a legitimate copy of xp home sp1 that came with an old HP laptop that I dont use anymore. So I install xp on my machine and it asks for an activation. I really didnt want to spend the time on the phone with M$ so I ended up finding a nice little activation crack... so it says "This version of windows xp has already been activated". I cheer and move on with life. Now... a month later it is saying I have 7 days left on my activation.
So when it pops up saying I have 7 days left and would I like to activate... I click "Yes". But because of my crack it takes me to a screen that says I have already activated.
-Is there a way to get around this so I can at least attempt to go through phone activation? (Bring up the original activation process)
-Or 2, reset the countdown timer?

[quote name=\'dietch\' post=\'358562\' date=\'Jul 17 2007, 06:49 PM\']So I decided to upgrade my Desktop from windows 2k to XP.
-Or 2, reset the countdown timer?[/quote]

/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> Alright, I borrowed Win XP froma friend, original version. I installed and found I have to crack it with in 30 days, 26 days as of this writing. My tech-expert sent me this file called, winxp_crk. And gave me instructions to crack the activation thing.
I found out in the readme, that i have to uninstall the SP1 patch if I have it(?). Though he says I don't have to uninstall it. now, can someone please explain to me how I can sucesfully get the activation thingy off my butt?[/quote]
Well, I tell ya how to get a perfect VALID INSTALL of XP- That can be validated.
First, check your install disk. Is it HOME? Throw it Away. Is It PRO? Check to see if it is a VLK version.
Is it MCE? Then find other people with the exact versions and upend their boxes and COPY their Product ID codes.
Basically we want the VLK version, it can be found at the Torrent Sites. Always READ what people SAY about the torrent else you get a fakeypoop Planted-By-MS piece of PooPoo.
Search for AntiWPA3 - It is all over the net so just check the Torrents. YOU WILL NOT NEED Antiwpa3 for Windows XP Volume License Key editions: But you WILL need it for any version of Media Center.
Next, search for a VLK pack called WGA-XP. this pack is a ZIP file has these four files inside of it:
Volume in drive C is SYSTEM
Volume Serial Number is F097-7D6D
Directory of C:\Download\WGAFix-XP
06/05/2007 08:53 AM <DIR> .
06/05/2007 08:53 AM <DIR> ..
11/10/2006 09:46 AM 981,336 MGADiag.exe
06/10/2006 01:50 PM 63,295 wga-fix.exe
07/03/2004 07:18 PM 94,208 Windows XP Keygen.exe
11/11/2006 06:24 AM 3,294 WP_Readme.txt
4 File(s) 1,142,133 bytes
2 Dir(s) 123,533,660,160 bytes free
Fiest you use the KEYGEN to generate a valid, new, VLK key. I will nto get into how to use the Keygen, there are settings that will produce keys for several XP versions. You want to use the setting for XP Pro Corporate.
Make about 5 to 10 Keys and print them.
Insert your XP VLK Service Pack 2 install disk (NOT UPGRADE DISK!!!) Into your Drive of the target machine.
Install XP - Use one of your keys, you may get one or two bad keys PER YEAR. Just use another key if that happens... And if you cannot get a good key, then throw away your XP install disk, it is not VLK.
After XP is installed, attach the PC to the internet. Run the Windows Downdate and get the Validation control: And STOP right after you get it, do not reboot if prompted and DO NOT continue. Before you do anything else, run the program WGA-FIX.exe. Then, REBOOT, and restart Windows Update. Get the rest of the validation and BITS (Backg Intell Xfer Sevice) ONLY... Nothing else.
Now, run the program MGADIAG and kick yourself in the buttocks if it does not say GENUINE (Kick yer butt cos you probly used a non-VLK version. To find a VLK version, look for it at the torrent sites.
You can also use this with known GOOD Product ID keys for Media Center, but you must use the ANTIWPA3 program. I just looked, and I found it rigtht NOW with no problems, the same pack I have been using.. it is still there after a year.
Also, it is one thing to USE vista for just [censored]ing around. Just dont BUY it. Download it and Crack it, but fookin dont buy it, expecially at 400 bucks per Ultimate Edition, it aint worth it!
Beer GOOD Vista BAD.
(I had links to the Torrents but that bad, me take away)

Yo Ahhhh:
After you get the Green GENUINE code in the MGA program, proceed to Windows Downdate.Com
Get any needed updates, but DO NOT get ANY "Security Downdates"
Block those off so you will nto see them ever again... And et ONLY the links that say "UPDATE for Windows Xp. etc..." And click the LINK that describes what eeet eees, before you downlaod it.
ALSO: Download ALL Dot Net versions, but no root kits, not ulness you actually want it.
MS sneeks invasive poopoo into the security Downdates.. The way I see it, if CCC targets your computer, aint nothin you can to to stop them, regardless of security poopdates.
So, just dont get them, and use good AV and antispy poop, and I aint mean Norton-poop.
The best way to keep poodoo out of your computer is to not go to porn sites, now I know thats a problem for some peeps, but that is where the junk gets injected from.

It depends. If you have a legal licence included with an old pc from Dell, and you buy a new pc (Packard Bell) with vista, but want to downgrade, I see no moral issue with making your old xp work with your new system. You've already paid twice for Windows. Promoting piracy is one thing, making stuff you've already paid for to work is another story.

this crack:
It seems that people are questioning the crack that is used for my solution. Many people seem to have done it the way I discovered and it worked for them, and also me. As for the crack, it seems people can no longer download it, so I will repost it shortly. EDIT: I just downloaded the crack but something inside the zip is messed up.... looks like someone tampered with it :-\ I'll reattach it to this post.
In case you need instruction again... here
I dont know if someone has found a solution to the looping message "This copy of windows has already been activated" when trying to login after your 30 days is up.
7.Restart the computer and logon normally smile.gif ENJOY!
didn't work. Anyone know any other way to get rid of the 30-day thing? I'm running a clean install of Windows XP PRO SP2 0EM on a dell OEM key build 2600. I installed it yesterday, but I want to get rid of the activation thing.
-
I tried the method of changing the registry codes and permissions and whatnot and the Activation window now says my Windows XP is activated. However, whenever I start up my computer, I get the message that I have to activate windows. I currently have 3 days left. What's going on? It says it's activated but I'm guessing it's not?
-
I downloaded the linked file a few pages back. I found that it is a valid copy of antiwpa 2.1.5 written by CW2k. Seems the zip header is damaged though.
An older version that does in fact work for most people, but does not work for X64 or 2003server. Sometimes XP will revert back or your antivirus will remove it.
Yes many antivirus software calls this out as a malware or other, which is not true.
version 3.4.6 or even 3.4.7 is newer and more stable.
If you install any of these from safemode can you get running again.
I recommend an other forum http://defcon5.biz/phpBB3/ (http://\"http://defcon5.biz/phpBB3/\") only because it is where the author of the crack frequents.
But I will send you the file today.

Hey, I've tried the method that change the regedit stuff and upon reboot, it says:
"blah blah blah hardware..blahblah...click yes to reactivate windows" etc.
Then if I clicked "No> it boots to normal window and everything is fine.
If I clicked "yes"> It says "windows is already activated.
Then when i run "%systemroot%\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /a" to double check, it says windows is already activated.
However, everytime I reboot, it will go through this "please reactivate" (and upon clicking yes, it'll tell me i've already activated) loop.
Anybody have any idea how to resolve this?

The wpa-function is called from two locations in winlogon, the
major one is called at login. The other from winlogon message loop which will actualise
the days counter every 1-8 hours.
So you need to address Both the registry and the winlogon.exe, you only got the second call fixed.
Try one of the patches above.
-
Thanks! I always thought the patch is an alternative method.
After applying the patch, I no longer have to go through the "please reactivate" message. However, there is this star logo in my taskbar that says "this copy of windows is not genuine."
Thus, upon searching the net, I found that you can bypass this by:
End the process wgatray.exe in Windows TaskManager and restart Windows XP in safe mode. Now delete the following files:
Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\windowss\ystem32
Delete WgaTray.exe from c:\windows\system32\dllcache
Start Windows Registry editor and delete the folder "WGALOGON" located in the following location:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\ Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinlogonNotify. Delete all references in your registry to WgaTray.exe
Restart and viola! It's gone~
One thing to note is that everytime u end the process in taskmanager, it will automatically starts again. So you have to be real fast in ending the process, then swiftly deleting the exe file.
Note sure if i can link this, but information (and other alternative methods) gotten from here: http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/04/workaro...on-genuine.html (http://\"http://labnol.blogspot.com/2006/04/workarounds-to-disable-non-genuine.html\")

Signature link doesn't work. I got new PC and installed a version of XP SP2 that required no serial. Tried FittMunken's trick (which works perfectly for SP1 for over 2 years now) but yesterday it said that I got 5 days to activate, when I try and activate it says it's activated. I downloaded a torrent of a corporate XP SP2 Pro edition and burned it already on CD. My question is this: How can you tell it's Corporate BEFORE the installation? When autorun triggered, it just said that it's going to install Windows (the initial blue window with all the options). How can I verify it's Corporate? I got a bunch of keys for corporate editions (either SP2 or plain XP Corp.), if I use one and fail and then use another and fail again, how many times can I "fail" the key before it stops the install (if it stops!)? Thanks!

You are throwing too much at once.
1. The link works fine today. http://cid-c0f03a17f30c51b9.skydrive.live..../Public/347.zip (http://\"http://cid-c0f03a17f30c51b9.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/Public/347.zip\")
if a direct click does not work then copy link location and paste into address bar.
2. All XP versions required a serial number (key number) if it does not ask it is in the install file for the disc.
3. I don't know FittMunkens's trick
4. a Corp edition does not require activation but may not pass WGA later on if key blocked by MS.
5. to check if corp edition open file setupp.ini file on disc, if Pid ends with 270 it is corp (VLK).
6. if the failure happens during installation then you can keep trying as many times as you want.
I recommend you install by booting the CD not from within windows.

Thieves? They're always gonna' be around. Don't worry about 'em; mind yourself.
Me? I am absolutely devoted to Jesus Christ. My XP install? Came from another laptop that I lost in an auto accident. So I have a 'spare' XP install disc. What I do not have, is time to jump through tele-prompt hoops, and 'oprima el numero todo', ad infinitum, and finally beg for install permission for a replacement machine.
Bill got HIS money for this one. My time is MY money.
Now, if they'll pay me contractor's business rates ($32.50/hr/1 hr. minimum - what I charge in consulting), then maybe I'll consider sittin' on the phone for however long it takes.
Think they'll pay???

Quit being assholes and help a dude out.
For everyone out there who might have this problem.
We all know you're getting the error since you're using a pirated version of XP - I'm not gonna be a wussy who calls you a thief and refuses to help you since we all have our reasons to pirate XP, and some of them might even be legitimate.
The crack you used is probably the same one everyone else who is having this problem used. The issue arises since the crack changes the winlogon.exe file to give you an error if not activated, and not let you logon. You applied the crack after a fresh install of XP. Works great. Then, updates come along and SP2 changes the winlogon.exe. All you need to do is crack it again.
I didn't do that, and I waited until day 0. I couldn't log in to my user even through safe mode to recrack it, like some people were able to do. I tried repairing my XP installation, and that downgraded me to SP2 since I used a SP1 disc, but it didn't remove my activation information. I was in a pickle. I had my own and my other user on this computers data locked away.
Luckily, I had set aside a partition for Ubuntu that I never installed since I'm lazy. I used that partition to install XP again, then ran the crack from that user but browsed my winlogon.exe in the WINDOWS folder somewhere in the other disc, and cracked it. That saved me having to backup everything and reinstall xp. Phew.
I hope that helps some people, although you kinda need to have a partition to do that. Otherwise, I hope it lets you know you need to re-crack it before day 0! I looked all over the interwebs for this solution, and none fit my situation.

I'm feeling out of my depth here but.... I have a Xp Pro disk but there is a problem, i think it has to do w/ the boot file. If i restart the computer set to boot from disk drive it just boots into Vista. When i explore the CD and click on setup.exe the setup screen comes up but the install option is grayed out.

If you are installing XP over Vista, you must do it by booting to the CD. You may have to change Bios settings of boot sequence to not boot your HD. You cannot start from within Vista, Microsoft hates downgrades.

Either your XP disc is damaged (likely) or you have a SATA drive and do not have the needed file on a floppy for it to find with F6. Sata is like SCSI.

I've had the same problem with my WinXP x64 installation. Yesterday it went in a activation loop and I couldn't manage to fix it.
I tried the manual reg-solution, but seems like it was too late to fix....
...that was until the newly beloved file called 347.zip

I copied this to my computer with an usb-stick and dbl-clicked the 'install.cmd' file.....the pc shutdown'ed and when it came back up, I didn't see trace of activation-harrassing at all....

Hello. Not certain wether or not you resolved your Windows XP Pro 30 Day Activation crack or not? But here is the solution.
********************************************************************************
******************
1. Click start menu/run/ type "regedit" and press enter,
this will take you to the registry editor
2. Now follow this directory:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion/WPAEvents
3. When you get to WPAEvents in the righthand collum there should be "OOBETimer"
right click it and go to "modify"
You should see 0000 (a bunch of numbers) and 0008 (a bunch of numbers)
4. Delete EVERYTHING before the 0000
5. Change the numbers after the 0000 to :
FF D5 71 D6 8B 6A 8D 6F d5 33 93 FD (this works with windows xp home and pro, both 32 and 64bit versions)
(extra characters will show up but do not worry about it. )
6. When you've entered them right click on the file "WPAEvents" and go into "permissions"
in there highlight "SYSTEM" and underneith it check the two boxes under "deny" and click "Apply" then "OK"
7. Restart your computer. To check and see if it worked. Click Start "Activate Windows." It should come up with a box
telling you that it is activated.
Why buy when you can hack, Microsoft is rich already. And will never go bankrupt
-
Jean, you are awesome, or at least it seems so thus far. Followed your instructions, everything seems to be working just fine. I'm just having trouble trying to double check is windows is activated. Went to Start, but don't see Activate Windows anywhere...

Jean is responding to a post from 2004. Yes that would work in 2004.
With service pack 2 and all the updates installed, don't count on it.
run msinfo32, if you see any thing mentioned about activation it is bad news.

/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> Here s what you need to do with XP Corp Edition... to make it " LEGIT "
1- Before you format your hard drive, get Limewire and SEARCH for " license "
You should get alot of hits..... Look for XP CD keys and hopefully you will find a KEY that says it was from a student or university XP KEY
2- once formated your drive, type in the new KEY you got from limewire....
3- It should be ACTIVATED and good to go.
4- One way to check it is to try to download WMP 11 and see if you can download and install it...once you are able to do it..you're as good as gold!
-
First:
7.Restart the computer and logon normally smile.gif ENJOY!
Is there a XP 64bit solution for this?

Well here's a story for you to consider:
I forked out full price for a retail version of XP, attached my sticker to the machine like a good boy. Went on holiday and took my box of essential CD's with me containing the nice holographic CD. While on holiday my bags get rifled and the box of CD's go missing along with other computer stuff.
So that's an unfortunate event. I've lost my CD but I still have the license, which entitles me to run Windows XP Professional on my machine. So I fish out a copy of the corporate XP cd which I got from a friend once. Product key invalid.
Trying to get a cheap solution, I purchase a Dell OEM CD from the net, install XP and when it comes to activation I enter my product key and proceed to activation, have to call by phone and punch in the numbers, reboot. Same message: can't login because I have to activate, try to activate now: can't activate because its already been activated. Perhaps making software that works is too much responsibility for Microsoft programmers
/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> .
So back to the corp version. I purchase a genuine advantage kit from microsoft for full retail price. It arrives and because I still have the original sticker on my PC, I give it a go. Still no. Seems Microsoft has taken special steps to ensure it's software will not work if the original key is departed from the original CD.
HaywoodJaBlowMe I can see why you feel that way, but dammit man, giz a break! All I want to do is run XP with the same license I originally purchased, but Microsoft has designed it's policies so that cracking is the only way to actually get an installation that works!!!
I do now pronounce that I am a Microsoft hater and it was Microsoft that made me turn. Until now I have been a long loyal customer of theirs, but now I have been liberated by Linux and get much satisfaction from the fact that everything "just works".
It hurts me only a little that Microsoft behaves like this, but it hurts me much more to be accused of stealing!!!

I'll put it on rapid share.
In case you need instruction again... here
I dont know if someone has found a solution to the looping message "This copy of windows has already been activated" when trying to login after your 30 days is up.

There are ample cases that Microsoft stole or violated from other software firms. You are talking ethics. I am a guy, who is good with gentleman and bad against thief. I encourage people not to buy any Microsoft software but use and distribute among people.

Hi
Came across this piece of software recently. If the vendor's blurb is correct, it should help those of you with problems reinstalling legal copy of XP.

Hey everyone - first post here. I've been running XP for years and have never had this problem, but now I'm locked out of one of my computers. I was getting some glitchy behavior a couple of weeks ago, when it would hang on the 'welcome to windows' screen then spontaneously reboot. I finally got into windows and promptly created a complete Acronis image on another drive (luckily). Things were cruising along well enough, until the other day. I rebooted b/c my soundcard was acting weird and got the 'activation required' thing and can't get in. I'm wondering if I've got a bad memory stick, HD, or some other hardware failure that caused Windows to detect a change in environment......
I've read through this whole 16-page thread and printed out several of the different methods that seem effective. Since this thread started in '04 I thought I'd ask if anyone has any modern-day input before I try this stuff?
Also, will restoring my C drive image that was created before this happened work, do you think? I'm planning on trying it anyway but welcome any input.
Cheers.

People, People. Please, this one is easy. It's easy for me anyway. It took me 10 minutes worth of Google searching to find out about this.
I happen to have a cracked XP install CD that REALLY helps out. But, if you have a working operating system, just go to the link below and follow the instructions EXACTLY, I repeat, EXACTLY, to re-create your install CD. I mean exactly unless you're one of those brainiacs that can change processes on the fly.
I had an install CD (cracked version) for the longest time. Unfortunately, it somehow picked up a DEEP scratch and has corrupted some files (or made them unreadable, at any rate). Fortunately, this tutorial helped me to recreate my cracked install CD, and still skips product activation.
Fortunately, Mr. Gates has accidentally provided his users with a way to re-create that special install CD by providing instructions on slipstreaming service pack files. I assume this is how the author of the tutorial figured out how to create an install CD.
NOTE: THIS WILL ONLY WORK IF YOU HAVE A NON-CORRUPTED (and preferably virus free) OPERATING SYSTEM ALREADY SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED ON YOUR SYSTEM. I would imagine that you could theoretically get the I386 folder from any system that has a working OS. However, you must be careful to copy the I386 folder from a system that has the EXACT same ORIGINAL installation (does not include SP2 or SP3 "UPDATES"). In other words, if your system originally came preloaded with SP2, and you grab the I386 folder from a system that did not come loaded with SP2, this WILL NOT WORK. Also, DO NOT transfer the system's oembios.*** files from that system to your disk. That will make it only usable for the system you took the I386 folder from. And forget about slipstreaming SP2 or SP3. The install process will ask you for the SP2 or SP3 CD, ultimately wasting your time, your drive, and a CD-R. (Even though for some odd reason, while Service Pack 2 cd's are readily available for purchase at any computer retailer, the package is available for download for free from Microsoft, as long as you have a "Genuine" copy of Windows. Go Figure.) Also, if you attempt to take the I386 folder from another system, be sure to grab the CORRECT product key from that system, otherwise this will not work. YOU MUST HAVE A PRODUCT KEY FOR THIS TO EVEN CONCEIVABLY WORK. You won't get very far through the install process if not.
If you ARE simply wanting to create an install CD for future screw-ups (or viruses, or whatever) for YOUR system that came preloaded with XP, copy the oembios.*** files from the I386 folder of your C drive and CatRoot folder, to the I386 folder on your CD Image, and you will NOT have to deal with Mr. Gates' pesky activation requirement. If you read the tutorial carefully, it has a separate link that explains how to create a "recovery" CD. In fact, MAKE SURE YOU READ THE FAQ'S BEFORE PROCEEDING. It will save you a lot of time, trouble, and headache. AGAIN, BE SURE TO COPY YOUR PRODUCT KEY BEFORE STARTING THE INSTALL PROCESS.
Windows Install CD Tutorial (http://\"http://www.howtohaven.com/system/createwindowssetupdisk.shtml\")
Fortunately for me, since I have a cracked version (virus free, and also passes Microsoft Validation, which means updates, updates, updates, and so far, unlimited installs on any system), I have just re-created a damaged install CD with this tutorial. My version completely skips activation. It may ask for activation depending on the system, but is always bypassed by answering "No" to "Are you ready to register with Microsoft?"
Also, this link is EXTREMELY helpful for those of you that have bought systems with XP preloaded, but you did not receive a "recovery" disk. I put recovery in quotes because this process WILL NOT create your system specific drivers. In other words, you will have to go to your system manufacturer site to download drivers such as video, audio, and even the chipset, although the initial OS installation will go flawlessly.
Some users may experience problems with USB ports working after installation. Simply go to your Control Panel, System, Hardware, Device Manager, and uninstall your usb port, then restart. Windows will automatically reinstall the proper drivers (no clue why it doesn't do it the first time, but whatever), and then your USB ports will work fine, SP2 or not.
For those of you that are already "Locked Out" from your system, I'm sure if you can get into the system via safe mode, you'll be able to create the necessary files (via tutorial instructions) to re-install XP. All it will do is buy you time, but time is all we need, right?
Enjoy!

By the way, an important note I forgot to add...
Where the tutorial tells you to add quotations to your notepad file saves, do that, but also make sure the drop down box below says "All Files (*.*)" Just simply entering the quotes without changing the file type from txt to All Files does not work.
Also, when I say "oembios.***", for those of you not used to DOS commands, the ".***" at the end tells windows to look for any files named "oembios", regardless of the extension. I believe you can tell the search to look for any files starting with that name without adding the .***, but I'm old school...that's just how I roll.
Now then, if someone could figure out how to edit the oembios files to work for a specific system, that would eliminate this whole "how do I crack windows" question. Then again, there are literally hundreds of different types of "shelf" systems out there, that all have different hardware, which would make it difficult to tailor make an oembios file for each computer manufacturer.

I've looked at all these post, over and over again, I even went to some or most of the "Windows XP Student Torrent" sites, those are all porn sites, stay away, I almost bought into one but it would not take American Express, boy am I glad. I've tried a few of these listed like the one below, and it would not work for my Laptop Toshiba Satelite that I just bought for $150.00 has 1.6ghz...etc. The party selling the Laptop needed the money (or so they said) before I bought it I had her to bring it to my house, when I fired it up it went to the black working screen, then a real quick blue screen flashed at the top and it started with the black screen again. So I knew something was wrong, I told her I would buy it if she could get it working, she said she had bought it for $250.00 and had paid $180.00 to have Vista installed on it over the existing Windows XP PRO and it worked for about 30 days and quite, she then took it back to the guy who installed Vista and he reinstalled another Windows XP and didn't activate it, just like he didn't activate Vista, she took it home and after 30 days (the day she dicided she would sell it) it quite working. I had a Windows XP PRO SP2 disk that I borrowed from work, it was no longer used by our company and they didn't want it anymore cause they thought it was out of date. I gave it to the lady and told her to try and reinstall Windows XP PRO SP2 from that disk but not to try to activate it because I thought it might cause a problem. She called me up the next day and said she had got it installed and it was working. When I went to pick it up, she turned it on and I went to the accessories file, system tools and looked at the install, it showed she had indeed installed my Windows XP PRO SP2 from the disk and had not activated it, I was going to download Linux because I thought the Windows XP PRO SP2 would not be able to be activated and I was not going to pay to buy another one. I am glad to say I was wrong, and here is how I got it to activate, I looked on the back of the Toshiba and thank goodness the original product key number was still stuck to the back, I wrote down the product key (I had the product key from my Windows XP PRO SP2, but didn't want to use it for fear that it would have had too many installs already, our company installed it on about 15 computers) I opened up the Let's Activate Windows Now window, jumped through all the hoops starting with what country I'm in all the way up to activate by phone, I checked change product key code, and I entered the product key code from the back of the laptop, it then gave me a new set of numbers to give to the automated system. I called the automated number and followed the directions and punched in the numbers (one set at a time, it will auto stop after each set is entered) the system went to check for a activation code and came back right on the line and gave me the set of activation numbers (one set at a time) until it finished, I never could get it to understand me that I was finished, so I just clecked next on my laptop screen and WOW it worked, so I guess if you have a good copy of Windows XP SP2, and you have the product key of your computer to change it to, You too can register your Windows XP SP2. And by the way this all took less than 5 minutes.
Good Luck

Hello. Not certain wether or not you resolved your Windows XP Pro 30 Day Activation crack or not? But here is the solution.
********************************************************************************

Update - I got it sorted out. I had run malwarebytes, which turned up several things that it determined were trojans. One of those things was antiwpa which I unwittingly removed along with everything else it found. I was able to get into safemode and restore it. Presto - reboot, everything's back to its former bootable glory.

I've looked thru and haven't found my particular problem but its similar to this product.
I have a couple Dell & Gateway computers where I don't have the original CD's for and the hard drives had to be reformatted. I've tried installing legit and clean versions of XP on the machines and on boot, the system says that in order to continue, activation is required. I activate it online and everything is fine but then the activation required message pops up again....rinse and repeat.
Dell/Gateway claim the only work around is to repurchase the discs (which are no longer available) or install using an Original Windows disk (which is what I did) but they don't tell you how to get around the Activation Required error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a keygen for xp pro that works, i dont get any pop ups saying "you may be a victim of software counterfeiting" anymore. But when I tried to use windows update, the "genuine check" said that "this key was not provided by Microsoft".
I also tried the AntiWPA3.cmd but that didnt help either.
How can I pass the genuine check? (Without paying for a third XP licence... Ive already bought two)
-
Edit:
BTW, after using AntiWPA3 my keygen doesnt remove the error messages saying "you may be a victim of software counterfeiting" anymore.
Anybody knows how to remove AntiWPA3 again?

hey wood...I bought my laptop in 2007 and got two recovery cds..one is for win95... and the other is for win98. Since my OS is XP 3sp and both discs will reformat my hd it seems like a stupid option to use either. My system had a massive failure recently and I had to reload winxp with a friends disk... I was hoping my product key on the back of my laptop would work, but big suprise it didnt. I have used win since 3.1 and the time and money i put into using and fixing their system makes me feel like i have the right to fix my system with no bs, but no, thats a pipe dream...ms just wants to fk us out of our money and their fix is to buy win7...isnt it ironic..dont ya think? I solved the prob of xp asking to be activated...thats easy...i just want to make my key genuine so i can update without a prob...since xp or any win os is so full of holes we are all just a click away from hell. dont we all deserve respect from ms...we did make them rich afterall

Only not everyone who needs to know the answer is pirating software; some people had computer problems and had to reaccess their C drive, on which XP is now asking for activation...again. Just enter the key? Can't. The field doesn't come up. Although since C can again be accessed, it would be great to bypass the activation and use my system like normal again.

I'm in no way saying it's acceptable to crack or steal software- but with the exorbitant prices it's forcing those who cannot afford it to look for other solutions. Not everyone can afford to spend thousands of dollars on software. Add up all the programs you might need- Windows, Office, any necessary Adobe programs, you're looking at a lot of money. Maybe if Windows, Adobe, etc... didn't charge so much, piracy wouldn't be the issue that it is.

Here follows what I did, and has worked so far. I still have to see what happens after 30 days, but here goes the hint if someone wants to try. Instructions partly based in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1TXPH0tZEk
and partly in trial-error
/rolleyes.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' /> .
1.Install a Torrent client
2.Download last release of AntiWPA: isohunt.com/torrent_details/131409413/XP+SP3+%5BAntiWPA%5D+Activator?tab=summary
3.Download Windows Xp Genuine Forever 100%: isohunt.com/torrent_details/60720773/Windows+Xp+Genuine+Forever+100%25?tab=summary
4.Download WinXP SP3 network install version* if needed
5.Log in as Administrator, if not yet
6.Install SP3 before changing anything** (check http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950717/en-us before)
7Website removed for spammingn AntiWPA
(Now WinXP is activated, but your license key may be still blocked)
8.From "Genuine" downloaded files, copy all contents from "System32" to your actual System32 folder (usually C:\Windows\System32\)
9.Still from "Genuine" files, in folder System32, run 1.reg - Say "Yes" to the registry change
(Now you own a "genuine" install and can flawlessly run Windows Update)
*Installing SP3 from Winblows Update didn't work for me. Maybe a different key would do, but I didn't try.
**Installing SP3 after patches gave me "Internal error" which, according to the logs, is due to licensing. Maybe a different key would do, but I didn't try.
Note 1
In case you already patched your system and want to install SP3, you can follow advice from M$ itself: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/949384/en-us
Open C:\Windows\svcpack.log in Notepad or similar, Search "CheckVLKForBlock failed" and read the lines right above. Follow instructions from link above. In my case, it was the second case, and the solution worked.
Note 2
According to Avira's AntiVir, there's nothing wrong in the patches. But check for yourself.
Note 3
I've seen FittMunken's guide back in this thread (http://www.thetechguide.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10100&st=183) but it didn't seem necessary (and some reported as nonfuncional). I don't know if it makes a difference, and didn't try. Maybe would solve the SP3 issue above, maybe not. I'll leave that to the experts.
That's it! Let's pray for the thing to work (specially after 30 days). Well, that's what we always do about Windoze, isn't it

That was meant to read "seven", "dot", "Run", and "AntiWPA". But "dot" and "ru" seems a bad combination. So read "7.Execute AntiWPA" (or will "dot" "exe" be blocked too?

I had to reinstall Windoze (ah, what a surprise), so the 30 day wait will get a bit longer. I can't remember the exact day I redid everything, but I guess we'll have good or bad news in two weeks.
See ya,

Cheers! It worked!
/laugh.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' /> Over a month after crack above, and I could do a Windows Update and restart, without licensing hiccups or any annoyance (well, one crash, but that's eXPected). So that's the way to go.
Important: never allow auto updates, and watch when you use Windows Update. It can screw your "validated" install.
Good luck.
