Title: FreeBSD 5.2
Post by: Josetann on January 12, 2004, 11:17:04 PM
We've got FreeBSD 5.2 available for download!  Here's the links:

5.2-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso (http://\"ftp://ftp.thetechguide.com/pub/freebsd/iso/5.2-RELEASE-i386-disc1.iso\")
5.2-RELEASE-i386-disc2.iso (http://\"ftp://ftp.thetechguide.com/pub/freebsd/iso/5.2-RELEASE-i386-disc2.iso\")
5.2-RELEASE-i386-miniinst.iso (http://\"ftp://ftp.thetechguide.com/pub/freebsd/iso/5.2-RELEASE-i386-miniinst.iso\")
5.2-RELEASE-i386-bootonly.iso (http://\"ftp://ftp.thetechguide.com/pub/freebsd/iso/5.2-RELEASE-i386-bootonly.iso\")
MD5 Checksums (http://\"ftp://ftp.thetechguide.com/pub/freebsd/iso/5.2-CHECKSUM.MD5\")

You don't need to download all four.  The first two are for a full install (disc1 can be used by itself).  The mininst is for a minimal install.  Bootonly is, you guessed it, a basic boot CD.

just a heads up, of for any chance u run a gigabyte N700 Pro2, with Gigaraid/SATA Raid, OB EIDE, 5.2 does not like the IDE Bus for this board... 5.1 runs fine for me (granted i run my hdd on the ide instead of RAID) but 5.2 doesnt like it... however, 5.2 installed beautifully on an inspiron 1100... now to mess with the allocated video RAM... if anyone has any info regarding the ide problems i experienced with 5.2, let me know /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
