Title: Host File Script?
Post by: DooDah on January 13, 2004, 12:21:07 AM
In my hosts file I have several addresses under 127.0.0.1 to stop the popups.
This always worked well until recently.  I started getting popups from "doubleclick."  I checked my hosts file and all of the addresses I had entered with "doubleclick" dot whatever had been prefaced with the # character.
I thought it might have been because of a program I installed.  I erased the # character and saved my file.  I just checked and the # character is back again.  What could be causing this...and why hasn't my anti-virus, anti-bot, anti ad software picked this up?
