'Ello..
My computer is getting pretty stuffed up, and I'd like to just do a clean reinstall of Windows. I have XP, but I'm a bit confused... My computer came preloaded with XP but it didn't come with any Recovery/reinstall disks for XP. I know there's that system restore thing for XP, but I want a clean reinstall of XP. Since my comp. didn't come with any recovery disks, am I still able to completely reinstall XP or will I have to buy a Win. XP disk to reinstall?

I'm assuming that your PC didn't come with a "restore CD". Most PC makers don't include Windows CDs anymore, but most do have an image of the OS somewhere on the hard drive that you can access with the "restore CD". You should check the support site for the PC manufacturer to see if you might be able to access the image with a floppy under dos. If you PM me I can help you get a free reinstall CD from the manufacturer, who will normally charge $10-$20 extra for this. If you harrass them enough, they'll just give it to you if you can prove ownership of the PC. I've done this before, so I can help.

/dry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'<_<\' /> thanks again.
