Title: In Game Freezing = Very Upsetting
Post by: chet lemon on March 07, 2004, 06:29:03 PM
Apologize ahead of time if this topic is somewhere already, I get an error when I search these forums....
Anyway,

Evga 5900fx video card, SB Audigy2 ZS, Abit KV7, Geil 512 pc3200 DDR to start...

During Call of Duty, and Battlefield 1942, game will freeze almost everytime I play.  The freeze will occur usually after 30 min or an hour of gaming, but has occured right away a few times.  Game will freeze, and if I turn speaker volume up, I can hear a high pitch noise.  No keys work, only solution is to reboot.  Originally thought it was a heat issue, case has had sides off for weeks now and it still occurs.  Downloaded 56.56 nVidia drivers, as well as most recent SB drivers I could find, but with no luck.

Any ideas would just rock. /ph34r.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />

Ok well have you got the latest MoBo chipset drivers if there is any. Have you flashed with the latest BIOS? Are you sure their is good contact between the CPU and Heatsink? You could try underclocking the 5900fx just to see if that's a heat issue. Have you installed the latest patches for those games? Just some ideas.
Good Luck! /rolleyes.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'\' />
