Title: Reinserting Bitmap 1
Post by: Guest1 on March 09, 2004, 09:16:18 AM
Hello.

I read your guide on how to change the Windows XP Boot Screen, and I followed the directions to the letter.  However, when I tried to replace Bitmap 1 with my own version of it, ResHacker returned the following error:

"Bitmap image is not valid."

I have tried several things in order to fix this, even starting from scratch.  I have been using Adobe Photoshop 7.0 to do all of my image editing, and I DID remember to load the 16.act pallette.  The size of the image is 640x480, as instructed, and the image uses approximately 12KB of space.

Can anyone please provide me with some help/insight?

PS:  This only happened with Bitmap 1.  The other Bitmaps, 8 and 10, worked fine.  Also, I am using Windows XP Professional Edition.

you have to make sure your using the exact same pallet, and not changing the colours within the pallet ?
