Title: pqdi 5 and SATA drives????
Post by: coady2000 on April 07, 2004, 07:29:02 AM
Hello all!

Here is the deal...I recently rebuilt my system....on a 40 gig drive. I got everything how I wanted it....XP Pro, etc. It is working sweet. Well I created an image from my 40 gig using Power Quest Drive Image 5 (PQDI) and stored that image on my secondary drive...an 80 gig drive. So the image created sucessfully.

Well my third drive is a 200 gig Serial ATA drive. What my plan is, is to buy another 200 gig Serial ATA drive and put my image I created from the 40 gig drive onto the new SATA drive.

Here is my dilema: I boot to PQDI 5...it opens up....I can see all drives in there...except my SATA drive?! I can see my 40 gig drive, my 80 gig drive, my dvd burner, my cd rom, my floppy drive, but not my 200 gig drive? Does anyone have a clue. I havent gone out and purchased my second Serial ATA drive yet, am waiting to see if it is possible to put my image onto it first!

HELP!

IF you dont have windows xp service pack 1 then windows can only reconise up to 137 gig sata drives and therefore wont be bale to mount them in any third party program. Do you have servic pack 1
