adaware, spybot etc., run them with latest updates
-
C:/Searchpage ,
step one download lavasoft adaware ,
step two download Hijack this place it in its own folder
step 3 goto C:/windows/system 32 and delete Mshelper.dll and then rename mtwirl.dll to Mtwirl.bogus.
Then search for C:searchpage file and delete it .
restart computer, run Hijack this and change have it fix all occurences of C:searchpage .
run adaware and get rid of rest .
go back to C:/windows/system32 and delete mtwirl.bogus
walla and god bless , it took me two days to figure it out.
PS dont play with your registers that Mtwirl.dll is active and rewriting them every 15 seconds. SO until you rename it and reboot your stuck with it

If anyone has detected the virus that will not allow you to type in a normal address, please visit this website, www.towrent.com. Once you come to the home page click on free shareware downloads. Then download the Spybot software as well as the ad-aware software. When downloading click OPEN not save. Once the two are downloaded on your computer you can run them. Make sure and check for updates before you run each application. The Spybot program will eliminate the "searchpage" problem and many more. The Ad-aware program will eliminate any old pop-ups or things slowing down your computer by running in the background. I also recomend the Slimbrowser which is another form of Explorer (but better and free). After eliminating all the bad things on your computer I would suggest a DISK CLEAN-UP. This can be accessed by going to START...PROGRAMS...ASSESSORIES...SYSTEM TOOLS...DISK CLEAN-UP. This will delete old compressed files, recycle bin and other things off your computer to speed it up. Then do a DISK DEFRAGMENTER. The same process as before but this time choose Disk Defragmenter instead of Disk Clean-up. Any questions let me know... [email protected].
Regards,
Bailey

You should remove 013 entries after trying out the method suggested on 16 May.

I can't believe that people are coming up with such stupid fixes for this Searchpage thing. All you have to do is go to the searchpage website and thewy will provide a fix. It's not them causing this problem It's some other asshole.
-
I too have this stupid virus! How the hell did I get it and how do I get rid of it so I can play with my computer? Every time I try to go into any programs or open anything this thing comes on and it wont close! Please help me!
