Title: hardware seems to be going out

My hard drive seems to be going out.  I cannot bring up my computer in normal mode it brings up a blue error screen.  I can however bring it up to dos prompt in safe mode.  Is there a way to get pictures or things I need out of my windows xp before it goes.   Is there anyway to fix the hard drive?

I'd appreciate it.
