Anyone experienced a constant blinking cd-icon just to the right of the cursor, when the system is apparently idle (so says Task manager)? It is exactly the same icon that appears during autorun of a cd-rom, just before the folder opens up. Blinks once very 2/3 seconds when nothing else happening.
This is a brand new install, patched, only exposed to the Net briefly via a hardware firewall. No e-mail yet or any virus exposure, adware etc.
Nothing in the logs.
I have built many of these using this combo but have not had this issue before?
The only variance I can think of is Logitech Mouse software for a cordless KB/mouse combo. Previous units have not had this.
Any ideas on how to cure this?

I have the same problem. It started around the end of June. I haven't figured out what's causing it yet either.

The blinking CD icon is Windows nagging you to activate. Once you activate Windows the blinking cursor will stop.

Well I was premature with my last post. Activating windows seemed to help, but the problem returned. I have an Aopen 1648/AAP DVD drive. I disconnected it and the problem went away. I then went to Aopen's website, downloaded the latest firmware and the problem is fixed.
