Title: Shockwave Player

I went to the Shockwave Player site, looking for fixes for my problem, but did not find my particular situation. This is the deal: When I go to d/l this app, it gets as far as the blue progress bar, then stops--  At this point, the text in the d/l box says "skipping macromedia director", the progress bar stops at exactly 1%, and nothing else happens, yet I can see that something is being attempted, because the text sort of "blinks" as though the installation is trying to happen. I had Shockwave on my XP system immediately before, then had problems after I installed Mozilla Firefox. I uninstalled that, thinking there might be a correlation, and I removed SW, so I could reinstall, thinking that might work. Nothing I'm doing is helping. Any thoughts?

im having this exact problem too, windowsXP
tried using shockwaves uninstaller , doest help, deleted temp internet files and
user local temp files.
