Title: Win2k + SP2 Boot CD, Can Someone Help Please
Post by: The_Exorcist on June 24, 2001, 11:07:06 PM
i have followed the directions from the tech guide on slipstreaming sp2 into win 2k
everything works fine with the slipstream and the burning of the cd
my problem starts after i format the hard drive with the following error message:

The following value in the .SIF file used by setup
is corrupted or missing

Value 0 on the line in section
[SourceDisksFiles]
with key \"SP2.cab\"

Setup cannot continue
To quit setup, press F3

i have tried 4 times to install  win2k with the sp2 slipstreamed
everytime i do, i get this error message
then i have to format again with just the standard windows 2000 pro installation and apply the service pack setup when the installation is complete.

has any one else had a similar problem, or am i doing something wrong
thankyou for your time everyone

I\'m having the exact same issue, if anyone knows how to resolve this I would be eternally grateful.  I\'ve been battling it for about a week now.

If you get a chance, tell us how. I ran into that as well. I\'ve been to put off to go see what caused it.
Regards,

Have not had that problem but take a look at your txtsetup.sif and see if you have:

under [SourceDisksFiles]
................
SP2.cab      = 2,,,,,,_x,39,0,0

Look to see what values you have.  Maybe this will help you guys out.

Problem typically only occurs if using boot floppies.  If that\'s the case, you have to update the TXTSETUP.SIF file on the first diskette with the new one in the updated I386 folder.  Don\'t know about what happens when you actually get the CDROM to boot, mine won\'t ;P
