Title: my computer is crashing all the time

/ohmy.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':o\' />  my computer is absolutely doing my head in i had a problem with my monitor closing down all the time so i got a freind to install a memory stick to double my memory and he also installed a new windows xp disk. my computer is working faster now but i get the problem with my monitor shutting down automatically but i can turn it back on straight away as i couldnt before. i cleaned the dust from my fan CAN SOMEONE HELP PLEASE!!!!1 /sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

monitor: compaq mv740
system: microsoft windows xp, proffesional, version 2002
computer: amd athlon (tm) processor, 1.00 GHz, 256 MB RAM

Try resetting the BIOS jumpers. Make sure you power down the system and unplug the power cords and pull the power supply connector first. Only have to wait about 5 seconds before you reset BIOS jumpers. Hope this helps.

Its cause its a fricken Compaq.
