Title: Iam Using a Mac And burning a DVD

So lets just say i Own the Dvd... I Ripped It with MacTheRipper and Recompressed it with DVD-Remaster (i think)  (4.5gb), now iam trying to burn it on a DVD-R using Toast 6 (platinum?) My Father Burned it on to the DVD but now we cant use it in a DVD player(standalone) and we have to select a file to play on the laptop. Did We skip something? is there a setting we overlooked? Any help or info would be appriciated.
