Title: XP Home & network printers
Post by: xp_hater on October 25, 2004, 04:23:22 AM
Hi,

In my work I've inherited two laptops running XP Home edition which I need to be able to print to a network printer on my companies LAN.
On the network we have 2003 svr running a domain and every client is 2000 pro, nice and simple.
Now I understand that XP Home can't logon to domains so they have to sit in their own workgroup but obviously they can see the machines in the domain.
One laptop can browse for and connect to network printers, the other just see the pc's and that it. I've tried using UNC instead of browsing but that fails.
Both laptops are identical models. The only difference was one which could see the printers was sp2 so I put sp2 onto the other but it still fails.

Any thoughts?

Help much appreciated!!

I HATE XP!!!!!!!!!!! What was so wrong with NT4?  Umm no don't answer that....
