Title: how to burn dvd

hello
I'm trying to learn to burn DVD, I have a problem, maybe this is something simple, why I can't burn 700 MB file to 4.7  DVD , Nero 6.0 is showing me that I do not have enogh space?
Do i need to convert it to specific file or there is moething wrong with my DVD burner?

What type of file are you trying to burn vob,mpeg,mp3.wma, data ?

if you are using Nero express then you need to check which burner nero is listing as the burner to use. under NEro express there is a drop down menu displaying the recorder(s) you will find your DVD burner listed twice the first will have [DVD] after it the second will display [CD RW} usually by default nero will have the [CD RW] as the chosen burner and if you try burning a DVD then it will tell you there isnt enough space.
