I heard from a friend that you can help get rid of spywares... Please help me..
-
Hi Duckz, I'll need to see a Hijackthis log
Can you Download Hijackthis 1.99
A small utility to help identify if any Hijackers, Malware, Spyware, etc.....Reside on your computer
Important: Create a Permanent folder for Hijackthis
Double Click "MY Computer"
Open your C: drive
Click "File" >>> "New" >>>> "Folder"
A new folder will be created, name it HJT
Now you will have C:\HJT
Download Hijackthis from CLICK HERE (http://\"https://ssl.perfora.net/tools.radiosplace.com/HijackThis.exe\") or CLICK HERE (http://\"http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe\")
Save it to that new folder
Do a SCAN and Save a Log file---Save the log----copy and paste the WHOLE contents of the log here... Don't try and fix anything yet----It is all important
-
Err... everytime I scan, an error window pop ups and saying to send an error report or not.. I click dont send and it closes Hijackthis and if i click yes it still closes it.
-
Ahh, let's see what else may be hiding
Can you try downloading this version of Hijackthis and save to a permanent folder
Hijackthis 1.98.2.zip (http://\"http://computercops.biz/zx/Merijn/hijackthis1982.zip\")
You will have to UNZIP this copy first before running
-
Here's my Log file. Thanks

Just going to take a look through your log, give me 15 minutes
Access your Add/Remove Programs and Remove if found
# WebSearch Toolbar
WebSearch Tools
Search Assistant
Win-Tools Easy Installer
# Do not reboot until they have all been removed even if prompted.
# When you are uninstalling the last program you can then reboot when prompted.
NOTE: During the uninstall process, you may be presented with several prompts to guide you through uninstalling the product. Read these carefully to make sure you are actually choosing to uninstall rather than keep the software.
If anything is Uninstalled and you restart your computer
When your back In Windows
Access your Add/Remove Programs again and Uninstall if found
CPR
Restart if found and Removed
When your back in Windows
Download and save to desktop
Remv3.zip (http://\"http://forums.skads.org/index.php?act=Attach&type=post&id=82\")
UNZIP the contents to a Folder
Important>>
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE (http://\"http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001060608000039?OpenDocument&ExpandSection=4#_Section4\")
In safe mode open the folder you unzipped the contents and Double click on
remv3.bat
Let it run until the dos window closes
RESTART back to Normal mode
I see you have Spybot installed
Also ensure to run Ad-Aware SE PERSONAL 1.05
Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05 (http://\"http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/\")
Ensure you have this version
Open Ad-Aware, ensure to click the check for updates now link and Connect to download the latest updates
Perform a Full system scan--"Uncheck Search for Negligible Risk Entries" before scanning
When it's finished scanning
At this point you should either right click on the screen and and choose the "Select All" Objects option or individually put a checkmark in each objects checkbox
click on the Next button. Ad-Aware SE will now present you with a confirmation box as to whether or not you would like to remove the objects you have just selected. Press the "OK" button
RESTART your computer back to finish the cleaning process
Post back a Fresh hijackthis log afterward, if possible try Hijackthis 1.99 again
If not post back with 1.98.2
Remv3.bat would of produced a log
Navigate to c:\log.txt and post the whole contents of this log too, thanks
Do as much as you can from the above, before posting back a fresh log
If the link to Remv3.zip doesn't work for you, let me know
I'll get you an alternative
-
Ok. Thanks =^^=

You may have, I just want to see why one entry wasn't removed
Can you do me a favor and open Ad-Aware
Click on DETAILS>>
Let me know Reference No. and Internal build
Then we'll try some final cleanup

Thanks Duckz, I just like to see what it's removing
Let's try some final cleanup
Download and Install Windows CleanUp! by StevenGould (http://\"http://www.antispyware.nextdesigns.net/installs/cleanup.php?type=exe\")
A small download
Install for now but Don't run a scan yet
This will clean all your temp folders, cookies, prefetch folder, etc....
Open Notepad (START>>>RUN>>>type in notepad) hit Enter
Copy the contents of the Quote box to notepad
IMPORTANT>>>Change the Save as Type to All Files.
Name the file as IEfix.reg
This will restore you default start page and search settings back to Microsofts defaults
Don't run it yet

Looking good, if you decided to fix backweb, it may of returned on it's own
Look within Logitech's program itself and see if you can disable the Updater
Then have hijackthis fix these entries
O2 - BHO: MSNToolBandBHO - {BDBD1DAD-C946-4A17-ADC1-64B5B4FF55D0} - C:\Program Files\MSN Apps\MSN Toolbar\01.02.2001.0001\en-us\msntb.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [LDM] C:\Program Files\Logitech\Desktop Messenger\8876480\Program\BackWeb-8876480.exe
The preferred method is to Manually check for updates with Logitech
Which may be minimal
Make sure you Have All other windows closed before clicking the FIX CHECKED button
Before you restart your computer
If everything is running smooth now you should disable system restore---restart your computer--enable system restore
This will clear all your restore points and ensure you don't restore any nasties
Once reenabled it will create a fresh restore point
Here's a link, just in case your unsure how to
http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/Disa...eSysRestore.htm (http://\"http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/DisableSysRestore.htm\")
Back in Windows, ensure to re-enable System Restore
You should set up extra protection against future attacks
SpywareBlaster by JavaCool---will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies
Install---Check for Updates---Enable all protection
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html (http://\"http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html\")
IE-Spyad---IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
Here is a tutorial and download link
TUTORIAL==Link to Tutorial (http://\"http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=53\")
Download link==Download link (http://\"https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/resource.htm#IESPYAD\")
Scroll down and click on IE-SPYAD.EXE Free! or IE-SPYAD2.EXE Free!
Regular IE-Spyad for the individual user or IE-Spyad 2 for global protection(All users) on your computer
You only need one or the other
With both, Check for updates every couple of weeks
Keep the link to IE-Spyad bookmarked so you can check for updates
SpywareBlaster, after every update just simply enable all protection
For RealTime protection against future attacks, you may want to check out this free tool from JavaCool's
SpywareGuard (http://\"http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html\")
It won't, and doesn't need to update that often, but check for updates once a month
Hold onto Windows CleanUp! and clean those temp folders every couple of weeks
You may want to check out the Options and uncheck Prefetch, but clean this folder out at least every couple of months
Hold onto Spybot and Ad-Aware and check for updates every couple of weeks
Ad-Aware, you may choose to do a Smart System Scan, which is a lot quicker
Do a Full system scan once in awhile
In Spybot, you may want to use the Immunization feature for a little added protection
Click Immunize>>>OK>>Immunize at the top
Do this after every update
With the above tools on your system you should keep a clean machine
Stay safe
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
Do the above and let me know how everything's running, I'll assume a lot better
-
By the way, are you able to run a scan with Hijackthis 1.99 yet
If you can could you post a log from that version
There are rare instances that some users report they just can't get it to run without an error message
This is usually due to a Rootkit infection, we tried a fix for that with Remv3.bat
It came up clean, are you sure you unzipped it before running it?
Just checking
Must be ran in safe mode too
I just notice this Also.. Can you help me with Trojans and Worms.. Any idea how to delete them?? >.>
And I may be wrong but you don't seem to be running any Anti-Virus software
If I'm mistaken, or if you have your own to Install can you install it now and run a scan
If you don't have any AV software
I recommend that you install the Free version of AVG 7 Free
from this link
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1 (http://\"http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1\")
After installation allow to update and Do a Full System Scan on your computer
This Anti-virus is yours to keep and update for the life of the product
Post back a fresh hijackthis log afterwards
EDIT>>After you install and run the Anti-Virus software, let me know where any files are located that can't be removed that are Malware related, such as the Trojans, etc..

Now, because of the installation of Kazaa you have other problems
You have to stick with me or the infections will slow you down
FIRST
Good move on installing SpywareGuard, unfortunately it can get in our way of any fixes on your log
Open SPYBOT>>Click on Mode at the top>>ADVANCED
TOOLS>>SYSTEM STARTUP
UNCHECK These 2 items to disable on startup
O4 - Startup: SpywareGuard.lnk = C:\Program Files\SpywareGuard\sgmain.exe
O4 - Global Startup: GStartup.lnk = C:\Program Files\Common Files\GMT\GMT.exe
After unchecked Restart your computer to ensure that there not running
The second one I asked you to disable is related to GATOR<<BAD
Once back in Windows
Access Your Add/Remove Programs and Remove if found
GATOR <--if still running, beforehand right click it's icon by the system clock and choose exit before uninstalling
ShopAtHome
Internet Optimizer
ISTBar
powerscan
P2P Networking <--a useless Kazaa addon that can cause a noticeable decrease in system performance and slower browsing experience
If prompted to Remove Altnets ALLOW it
Restart your computer between uninstalling any or all of the above
When that's done
Download and Save to desktop the Standalone version of CWShredder.exe (http://\"http://cwshredder.net/bin/CWShredder.exe\")
Close down all windows including this one, with only CWShredder open click on ONLY the FIX button, let it FIX all problems, when it's done
RESTART your computer
Back in Windows
Open Ad-Aware and Check for updates and download them if any
Perform a Full system scan--"Uncheck Search for Negligible Risk Entries" before scanning
Back in Windows
Open Spybot
Click the Update button on the left, in the window on the right click the
SEARCH FOR UPDATES button, Check and download all updates
Click the "Search and Destroy" Button
In the right window, click the
Check for Problems Let it complete it's scanning---Ensure to check and FIX everything in RED---they should be checked by default
RESTART your computer to finish the Cleaning process
I very much advise you to install that free Anti-Virus and run a full system scan
If you don't have your own to install
Post back a Fresh Hijackthis log afterwards, we will still have some cleanup to do
Can you also let me know what version of Spybot your running
Open Spybot>>Click on HELP>>ABOUT
Let me know Spybot version and Latest detection updated date

Host file looks ok
If everything is running better you should disable system restore again, Restart your computer and then enable it
Would you mind posting one last Hijackthis log, just a final checkup
Can you post one from Hijackthis 1.99 yet?
