Title: NAT Error Azereus

I am having alot of trouble configuring Azereus. I start up the Connection Wizard, and got to the default Azereus port 6881. I have tryd to forward that port many times but it will always say that I have a NAT error when i click the test button.

Many sites don't like the standard ports.
Go to -Tools -Options -Connection and enter a port from 49000 to 65000 on the TCP listen port.
If your running a router, you'll have to forward that port to your machine and configure your firewall to allow it. You also have to give Java rights to connect to the internet.

If that doesn't work - give me more details.

u can go to 192.168.1.1 amd configure your setting  it will solve your prob and u can also change your port so u can downlload.

make sure you've all turned off/configured windows firewall, I always forgot about that, and also www.portforward.com if your behind a router

Hi if your all wondering why your getting NAT errors, its because your running a  firewall, all you need to do is go into your firewall settings, port forward for example: 6881 for TCP. Just put it as all addresses are allowed, and only 6881 port to be allowed.

That will stop those NAT errors your getting,

Adding to port to the router firewall doesnt help for NAT errror problem. Any other suggestions?

Wow, that works
I tried everything else, I just never thought of changing it to a higher port.

I just changed the listinging port to 49002 and forwarded it and it went green!

Thanks guys that has been driving me insane.

I had the same problem and followed all the required steps with my router and firewall. Nothing...Still got NAT error. I then went to the command prompt and got the ip address for my connection. I put this value in the bind to local ip address and voila....Success.

Well, I've added 49002 port as an exception port to my firewall, I also added it to (that page when you type your ip in your browser) and there I've putted port 49002 under NAPT options and saved it.

and then I changed the port Azereus was using to 49002, but I still keep getting a NAT-error.  /dry.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\'<_<\' />

Does anyone else know what to do else to get rid off the NAT-error??  /sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' />

I too am having a NAT error, this is because my brother set up a firewall on the router I think. He set it up cause he doesn't want to get DDOS attacks from his RO server. We use a linksys, and he changed the password so I can't forward ports. Can anyone help here? Thanks

I got it working by using the UPnP through the router. Make sure UPnP is enabled in your router and that you have the Windows Component installed for Internet Gateway Device in the other network options.

To know if it's working or not before you mess with it. Open your My Network Places and see if you have Internet Gateway listed with your network controllers. If not, enable them as I mentioned above.

I have been having problems with azureus. I tried everything that i can. I can not access my router settings and i dont want to rest the router. Is there anything i could do to get rid of the Nat error in Azures without going into my router and fowarding the ports. Or is there any way to get into my router to do it.

i just changed the port to 7000, went into my router, forwarded that and let it through my firewall, yet i'm still getting [censored]ing NAT errors and connection status staying yellow... And I get no Internet Gateway Service, I used to have it in Network Connections, but it's not there anymore.

I was having a similar problem - all yellows, where before the last upgrade I was getting greens.  Well, what worked for me was to go to Tools --> Options --> Plugins --> UPnP, and unchecking "Enable UPnP".

UPnP is also an option on my router, but it was not enabled...if its enabled on yours you might want to disable it if doing the above has no effect, but when I disabled the plug-in, everything went to green immediately.

Of course I'd done all the rest, port forwarded thru router etc...but it sounds like ya'll have that already set up.  Hopefully this will do the trick.

Hi all,
for all of the people that have the YELLOW SMILEY problem, and you want it to go to GREEN SMILEY follow these steps:

1. First of all, the port in Azureus should be: 6881

2. In your router settings port 6881 should be open on your ip and as port 6881 TCP+UDP.

3. Go to Network Connections and right click on your internet conection and click Propeties.

4. Then click on the tab Advanced.

5. Then click on the button Settings.

6. In that place there should be a list of alot of Services. If you already have the Service Azureus, you need to check the box nex to it.

7. If the Azureus Sevice does not appear there, click on the add button.

8. The first box write any name. The second box write your computers ip address (e.g 192.168.0.1). The third box write 6881. The fourth box right 6881. The choice between TCP and UDP, choose for now TCP.

9. Do step 7-8 again but change the name and change the Choice between TCP and UDP, this time do UDP.

10. Do step 7-8-9 again but this time change the name and change the 3-4 boxes to port 6889. And do the same thing like port 6881 do a TCP and UDP.

11. You finished all of these steps Restart Azureus, and hopefully you are going to have GREEN SMILEY's and your Download Speed should pass the 100 kb/s.
