I need you to remove a few items from your Add/Remove Programs
Access your Add/Remove programs
Remove if found
P2P Networking A totally useless addon, usually installed by Kazaa, can cause slow browsing experience and general slower system performance in General
If prompted to remove Altnets>>Do so
Remove the next ones too, restarting your computer after removing each
Viewpoint Manager
I would also recommend that you remove Imesh>>Free version comes bundled with Spyware>>>Read this link
http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/ (http://\"http://www.spywareinfo.com/articles/p2p/\")
Remove Imesh from the Instructions in this link
http://www.spyany.com/program/article_spw_rm_IMesh.html (http://\"http://www.spyany.com/program/article_spw_rm_IMesh.html\")
Save any downloads to a seperate folder if saved to a default Imesh download folder
before uninstalling
MessengerPlus3 or MSN Plus 3 I need you to remove this one for now, when you installed it, it came bundled with nasty spyware called LOP
You can reinstall it after we get you clean, but when Prompted to install the SPONSOR
DON'T>>this is what installs the bad guys
Please don't reinstall it until we have you clean
After you have restarted
Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05 (http://\"http://www.lavasoftusa.com/support/download/\")
Ensure you have this version or the paid version
Open Ad-Aware, ensure to click the check for updates now link and Connect to download the latest updates
When Installing Ad-Aware may update and start a scan
Ensure it is updated but don't run a scan yet
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE (http://\"http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001060608000039?OpenDocument&ExpandSection=4#_Section4\")
Open Ad-Aware
Perform a Full system scan
When it's finished scanning
At this point you should either right click on the screen and and choose the "Select All" Objects option or individually put a checkmark in each objects checkbox
click on the Next button. Ad-Aware SE will now present you with a confirmation box as to whether or not you would like to remove the objects you have just selected. Press the "OK" button
RESTART your computer to Normal mode to finish the cleaning process
Post back a fresh hijackthis log and let me know what programs you were able to remove from the Add/Remove programs

Next:
Download and Install this small program
to help clean your temp folders, cookies, prefetch folder, etc...
Windows Cleanup (http://\"http://www.antispyware.nextdesigns.net/installs/cleanup.php?type=exe\")
Install for now but Don't run a scan yet
I want to check on something
Download and save to your C: drive HSFIX.zip (http://\"http://www.atribune.org/downloads/HSFix.zip\")
Unzip the contents of HSFix.zip and an HSFix directory will be created
We'll need this later
Print the rest of this out or save to a Notepad file, stay disconnected from the Internet
Close all open windows, including this one
You can leave the notepad file open if needed
Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:
O2 - BHO: DLMaxObj Class - {00000000-59D4-4008-9058-080011001200} - C:\WINDOWS\dlmax.dll

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis
RESTART into Safe Mode
Find and delete these files and folders if they exist
c:\windows\system32\ozrwhu.exe <--this file
C:\WINDOWS\dlmax.dll <--file
C:\WINDOWS\cerbmod.dll <--file
C:\Program Files\Common files\updmgr <--folder
C:\Program Files\AWS <--folder
Stay in safe mode
Open Windows CleanUp
START>>All programs>>CleanUp
Click the Cleanup button
Let it finish scanning for files>>When done it will prompt to Log off or Restart
Don't at this time
Again, in SAFE MODE
* Navigate to the HSFix directory and double-click on HSFix.bat.
* It will produce a log file, located here: C:\hslog.txt. <--we'll need this later
Restart back to Normal mode
Post back with a fresh Hijackthis log
And the info on the Proxy server listing
If you have trouble with connection issues you will have to enter Internet Options
While all browser windows are closed down and uncheck Use Proxy

I'm still seeing this in your log
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 67.63.132.2:8080
Again, are you knowing running through a proxy server
I'm not sure if the address is ok or not.......
You mentioned your not running through a proxy
You can have hijackthis fix that line then......
On restart you will have to make sure to check your Internet options>>Connections tab to ensure that Proxy is not checked or you may not be able to connect with IE
What is the exact error message on startup??????
Look for a file called
C:\MISB.EXE <--file
Do you see it?
Also look for this file
C:\WINDOWS\ibs.exe <--file, do you see it?
-
Nope ...problem is not solved... i dont get tht C:\misb error anymore...but the dialer is back ...C:\misb is btw an icon ... i was knowingly using that proxy server and have unchecked that box now ... here is a new hijack

Still puzzling me, still shows your running through a proxy
Please save this too a Notepad file on your desktop, Disconnect from the Internet altogether, Don't open a browser until prompted too
Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 202.83.175.186:8080
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gah95on6] C:\WINDOWS\system32\gah95on6.exe
O16 - DPF: {94837F90-A2CA-4A8A-9DA0-B5438EC563EA} (WildTangent Active Launcher) - http://install.wildtangent.com/cda/islandr...uncherSetup.cab (http://\"http://install.wildtangent.com/cda/islandr...uncherSetup.cab\")
After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis
Open Killbox
At the main screen of Pocket Killbox, select the option: Replace on Reboot
Also tick Use Dummy
In the Full Path of File to Delete box, copy and paste this entry:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\gah95on6.exe
Press the button with a red circle and a white X
Click Yes to Replace
When asked if you would like to Reboot, select Yes.
Restart your computer even if not prompted
Back in Windows
Stay Disconnected from the Internet
Access you Internet Options via Control Panel and ensure the Proxy is not checked
I see this in your Add/Remove Programs
You may choose to Remove
Viewpoint Media Player
WildTangent Web Driver
You must remove the next ones too
Ad-aware 6 Personal
Ad-Aware SE Personal <--There should only be one entry for Ad-Aware
You didn't allow to uninstall the old version when installing, let's remove both versions
Will reinstall it again later
Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.2 <--this is an outdated version of Spybot, Make sure you uninstall it....
I also still see Imesh in your entries, again if this is the free version I would remove it.....
Restart your computer after removal of the above
Back in Windows, reinstall Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05
Update it and run a scan as I outlined above
Restart your computer after removal of all Critical objects
Back in Windows
Download and Install Spybot S&D 1.3 (http://\"http://www.download.com/3000-8022-10122137.html\")
Make sure you uninstall the old version first.....
When Installing, please don't enable TEA TIMER, it's a great addon to Spybot but it can get in our way to do any manual fixes.. This can be enabled at a later time if you want it
After installation--Click the Update button on the left, in the window on the right click the
SEARCH FOR UPDATES button, Check and download all updates
Click the "Search and Destroy" Button
In the right window, click the
Check for Problems Let it complete it's scanning---Ensure to check and FIX everything in RED---they should be checked by default
RESTART your computer to finish the Cleaning process
Post back a fresh hijackthis log afterwards
You didn't answer my question earlier
Look for a file called
C:\MISB.EXE <--file
Do you see it?
Also look for this file
C:\WINDOWS\ibs.exe <--file, do you see it?

Hi...here is the hijack after running the two spyware programs.
I was unable to find a fix:
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 202.83.175.186:8080
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [gah95on6] C:\WINDOWS\system32\gah95on6.exe
however i managed to find and fix:
O16 - DPF: {94837F90-A2CA-4A8A-9DA0-B5438EC563EA} (WildTangent Active Launcher) - http://install.wildtangent.com/cda/islandr...uncherSetup.cab (http://\"http://install.wildtangent.com/cda/islandr...uncherSetup.cab\")
I was able to uninstall all programs except
WildTangent Web Dialer
nothing happens when i click Change/Remove in the add/remove programs.
yes i can see C:\MISB.exe ...it is part of the dialer thing
the dialer doesnt exactly show up any more ... i either get a dialog message saying ... "Can't install plugin" or a web site kinda thing opens up and say SORRY ERROR
Yes i can also see C:\WINDOWS\ibs.exe
here is a hijack log

Are you still having problems?
Did you happen to see any files that looked like this below
May not be exactly the same but may have a 4 or 5 number entry
C:\WINDOWS\15963.exe
C:\WINDOWS\17632.exe
C:\WINDOWS\1768.exe
C:\WINDOWS\17709.exe
C:\WINDOWS\18795.exe
C:\WINDOWS\19310.exe
-
Hi...
looks like problem is solve.
NO i cannot see those files or ones with number combinations in that folder.
Well since it looks like the problem is solved, how do i uninstall programs like HijackTHis and the HS thing and Clean up, if they dont appear in the add/remove folder
Thanks a ton for this !
-
HSFIX just manually delete by right clicking on it and delete
Hijackthis>>Hold onto for a week or so, when your happy with the way things are running, again manually delete the backups and the program
CleanUp! should be listed in the Add/Remove Programs
You may want to hang onto this small utility
Run it every couple of weeks to clean up those temp folders and such
You can open the options and uncheck what you do not prefer to clean
Spybot and Ad-Aware
Hold onto them too, there yours for free, Check for updates every 2 or 3 weeks and
run a scan
Now that we have you clean
You should disable system restore---restart your computer--enable system restore
This will clear all your restore points and ensure you don't restore any nasties
Once reenabled it will create a fresh restore point
How to Disable and Re-enable System Restore feature (http://\"http://vil.nai.com/vil/SystemHelpDocs/DisableSysRestore.htm\")
Once back in Windows and System Restore is reenabled
You should set up protection against future attacks
SpywareBlaster by JavaCool---will block bad ActiveX and malevolent cookies
Install---Check for Updates---Enable all protection
http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html (http://\"http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html\")
IE-Spyad---IE-SPYAD puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
Here is a tutorial and download link
TUTORIAL==Link to Tutorial (http://\"http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=53\")
Download link (http://\"https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/ehowes/www/resource.htm#IESPYAD\")
With both, Check for updates every couple of weeks
Keep the link to IE-Spyad bookmarked so you can check for updates
SpywareBlaster, after every update just simply enable all protection
Stay safe
/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' /> and thanks for posting back
EDIT>>If you really want to uninstall CleanUp!
I wouldn't but if you do, and you don't see an uninstaller in the Add/Remove programs
But there should be
You can try going to START>>All Programs>>CleanUp!
Uninstall
Also, don't forget to go back and Hide Hidden files and folders
