Title: win2k issues with stop errors
Post by: mike on August 17, 2001, 09:05:55 AM
i\'m having problems running win2k on my 1.4 ghz athlon with dfi-ak76-sn mobo, with 512 mb of ddr ECC ram.  have a seagate 40.8 gig hdd with ata/100 III.

every time i boot up with cpu caching enabled, it just hangs and gives me a different STOP error.  i have external caching enabled, which does not affect anything.  IF i disable cpu caching, it goes slower than hell, but will boot up into safe mode.  i think if i left it sitting for an hour, it might actually load normal WIN2k.

any advice on this?  it says to disable bios memory caching or/and shadowing.  should i list all of my hardware, as there might be some funky conflict?
