Hi PPlz.
Finally it worked: a bootable win2k cdrom. So I tried installing it. Everything went fine untill the network detecting. I gave a ip and gateway up and win2k started installing network components. At once a popup. cannot find file: APPSER~1.CL_ (and more files like that) I manually tried to install them because they are present on the disc. But they are rejected!!!!! The correct files like APPSER_1.CL_ aren\'t reconised.
Question: How does it happens that the difference between \"~\" and \"_\" make my cd almost worthless?? What did I do wrong. AAAAAGGGHHHHH, going crazy here!!!! Plz help me.
I made my bootable cd with the help of Bink.nu and with cdrwin4.0a
Thnx in advance!!!! Silverstar

Check out the instructions here, make sure you follow them exactly. Sounds like you might have used a different file format for the CD, and it changed how large filenames were treated.
Just a guess, but it could cause those problems.

I perfectly followed the instructions. Maybe I will try it with cdrwin3.8b!!! I can\'t think of anything else that causes the problem.
Thnx m8

It may be that you are using a ISO9660 filesystem that doesn\'t support ~\'s in the name. Just build your cd with a Joliet filesystem. The install program works fine with Joliet.
