If you want to resize a windows WITHOUT maximizing it and keeping the changes as default :

1. Hold down Alt key
2. Resize your window
3. Close it
4. Hold up Alt key

That\'s it! You just changed your default size

Beware : if you changed the value for explorer \"c:my files\", it WON\'T apply to \"explorer c:\". Hence you must use a direct shortcut for accessing c:my files.

Easier way : just resize your root partition (the one you access with \"my computer\")

Kudos to PC guide! (http://www.pcguide.com)

It is the only one site wher I found this particular hint. The webmaster himself never found it anywhere else!
