Title: Help with EasySearch
Post by: DragonAtreides on March 15, 2005, 01:25:43 PM
Help needed desperately. I think I have a virus that creates an easy search page, named with random 11 letters in the following directory. C:\Documents and Settings\Dragon\Local Settings\Temp here is the sign of the site (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v176/DragonAtreides/mdgpgmivmky.jpg) and I will attach the thing I get in this post too. I think it has camoufoulaged itself like a system file in temp folder. It doesnt really sets itself as the homepage, just directs me there. I had tried downloading hijackthis and made no use, didnt worked. Help me, I am way too inexperienced to deal with this problem of my own. I am gone to download hijackthis again, will keep you informed if anything comes up.

EDIT: The reason that hijackthis cannot operate is that it cannot find the file MSVBVM60.DLL it says that reinstalling the file could fix the problem, (downloaded 3 times so far)

Can you try downloading Hijackthis from my Signature below
Save it to a Permanent folder

Afterwards, your not supplying much info about your operating system
But make sure you download the required file from this link
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en (http://\"http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=ba9d7924-4122-44af-8ab4-7c039d9bf629&displaylang=en\")

Click on the Download under
Visual Basic 6.0 Run-time Files
English
Save it to desktop and double click to install
Restart your computer after you install it

Try and post a Hijackthis log
