My printer stopped working. I get a message spool service is stopped.
I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling, shutting it off, unplugging the usb all to no avail. I keep getting spool service is stopped messages.
Can anyone help? What is the spool service?
Thanks Frank

Hi again big Frank, come to think of it, I didn't see the Spool Service running in your log
Some disable it on purpose because they don't have a printer installed
Can you try this
Go to START>>>RUN>>>type in services.msc and hit Enter
In the next window, look on the right hand side for this service
name---- PrintSpooler
Double click on it
In the drop down menu, change the startup type to Automatic
Then click the Start button
Hope that helps

I tried what you suggested, the automatic was already in the box. I tried chosing manual, ok. Then went back in a picked automatic and I got the following message:
could not start the printer spool on local computer. error 1068: the dependency service or group failed to start

First I would Stop the service and set it to Disabled
and restart the computer
Then go back and set to Automatic and Start the service and see if that helps
If not, look to see the dependencies it relies on
See if this is any help to you

I had to run lexmarks uninstaller 3 times before it actually worked. Then it simply reinstalled and worked.
Thanks, Frank
