Just built a new athlon 1.4 with Asus A7V266 M/b 512Mb DDR Ram and 41 Gb IBM Deskstar 60GXP ATA 100. Installing win2K i thought would be easy! ha. Sometimes it gets as far as formatting the drive then after that it hangs. Otherwise it hangs when it says starting windows 2000. Can\'t seem to get past this point. Can someone please help?
Thanks in advance

There\'s many things that could be going on here. Without knowing more specifics, I\'d simply suggest slipstreaming SP2 into your win2k install files first, then trying to install win2k again. SP2 fixes several bugs, adds new drivers etc., so there\'s a good chance that whatever problem you\'re having, has been fixed.

Don\'t mean to sound completely thick, but I\'ve never slipstreamed anything. How do you go about implementing the SP2 files into the installation?
Thanks again

I\'ll give that a try, Thanks

Note also that a AMD 1.4 and up require more than a 300w power supply, usually at minimum 400.
