I have an abit bf6 p3 700 fsb 100 this works fine my sdram(133) 3x128 , before I had a p3 660 fsb133 and I had to replace it because of reset problems (same chipset 440bx).
I tried everything with the p3 660 , changing the 660 to 6x100 , even to 5x100.
500E (5x100fsb) , was the best result but still gave me errors .

All newer intel chips are mutliplier locked. All Pentium 3s fall into this category. The only overclocking can be done from the FSB.
Have you guys tried letting the mobo autodetect the chip?

If you get a p3  667(133fsb) and the sofmenue is set to p3 667 auto I suppose you call this automatic . (440bx chipset) .
I know how to set a pci clock and an agp clock without overclocking .I even tried with motherboard harware settings
dipswitch settings .
Evey two times your computer resets when starting up .
You try every setting in the book of the softmenue and the system is more or less stable with settings 5 x 100 fsb so you have a p3 500E  but still buggy .Then I put a p3 700 and everything is 100 % ok what\'s happening then .Same computer ,same software w2k & win98se .
I cannot see anything else but uncompatibility .
What did I do wrong
Then I just had to pay the difference between the 667 and the 700 .

Have you tried updating to the latest bios? You bios may have some incompatibilites with the EB pentium chips.
E - enhanced cache
B - 133MHz

LIGHT WEIGHT, are you using PC133 RAM?
When running the processor at 133MHz FSB, the RAM also runs at 133MHz. You will need to use PC133 RAM for proper operation.
You may also want to get better cooloing for your computer as the 440BX is speced at 100MHz, so 133MHz may be pushing it.

I always update the latest bios , XU now , I even made a floppy with an autoexec.bat for that purpose .When there is a new bin file I put it on it and change my autexec file .
All this didn\'t help at all (I allways get the latest updates from everything .Today I updated my geforce 2 gts with the new detonator(21,81 XP_2000) from nvideo .Direct 3d 3280 mega prixels/s instead of 365 mp/s before with the detonator 3 really amazing .
About my p3 667 I really tried everything possible and as i said before the bugs diminued but didn\'t go away , ans finally the shop keeper knowing me agreed to replace it .I still have my p3 700 and never had any trouble with it .
