Title: Web Pages loading VERY slowly

Hi from Florida!  This problem began approximately 2 weeks ago (No new programs added).  Navigating on the computer itself is no problem, very fast.  When I go online, it's taking waaaaaay to long for pages to load.  I work from home entering insurance claims, and posting 1 claim should/would take about 1 min tops.  Now it's taking about 15-20.  At 50-100 claims per day, I'm about to pull all my hair out, and throw the computer out the window!  /blink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':blink:\' />  Please help!  

Oh, I've ran CCleaner, Internet sweep, clean-up, adaware, etc.  It did find and deleate a bunch of junk, but didn't fix the problem.  I also ran disk clean and defragged.

Not seeing that much wrong with your log

But I would do the following, if you didn't purposely install MyWay toolbar I would remove it

Try the following

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis


Access your Add/Remove programs and remove
MY WAY, or similiar

Restart your computer
If prompted of a change by SpywareGuard, ALLOW it

Access Internet Options via Control Panel
Under the Programs tab "Reset Web Settings"

Delete this folder
C:\Program Files\MyWay
Post a fresh hijackthis log

Ok, I did as you asked.  When trying to use add/remove, I got the following error message for both MyWaySpeedbar (outlook) and MyWaySpeedbar (Smiley Central).

Error loading C:\PROGRA~\MyWay\bar\1.bin\mwsbar.dll
The specified module could not be found

However, I was able to go into C:Program Files and delete the MyWay folder.  Now, when I check add/remove programs, they are still there, but it no longer shows a file size or date of last use.   They also do not come up under "Manage add-ons" in internet options.  

I logged on after doing what you said and tried my online claims entry programs.  They are still very slow navigating from page to page.

Would the fact that there are about 50 processes running in the background have anything to do with it being so slow?  It used to have about 20....I don't know where they all came from!  Is there a way to fix it so there aren't so many?

Thank You Spy War.  I am at work, but I will do this when I get home in the morning.  I am still interested in learning how to lower the number of processes that are running at all times.  On both my home and work computers there are over 50 programs running in the background all the darn time.  I'm sure that is part of the problem, because I distinctly remember it being MUCH less a while back.  I've read that IE and systray are the only two that are NECESSARY, but when I tried to close some down, I got this error message that my computer would automatically shut down in 60 seconds.  Something about NT or Nsomething.  I'm getting ahead of myself though, I still need to figure out why it's so darn slow, and will wait until G checks my latest hijackthis log.  Thanks all!

You probably don't need all those processes running in the background, but careful what you try and shut down

You will want to disable them or reset them by doing the following
Go to START>>RUN>>Type in services.msc
The services will show in the right hand side

Use this link to set what you believe to be safe
I would leave the System Restore service running

Added note: I would definitely not be running 2 anti-Virus software on your computer
I see McAfee's and AVG
This can cause conflicts and slow system performance
Decide which one your happiest with and uninstall the other
