Title: please help me with this hjt-file

I've got a few problems:
by starting windows, I get 3 messages:
1) that there isn't a disk in the drive
2) that there's a problem in scvhost.exe and it has to be shut down
(this is a problem in the module kernel32.dll)
3) that windows doesn't find the file Nail.exe

I did a scan in Hijackthis, with the following logfile:

I'm just on my way to work, I'll get you started on a fix
and take a look at the rest of your log later

Could you do the following please

==Please download Nailfix from here:
http://users.pandora.be/bluepatchy/nailfix.zip (http://\"http://users.pandora.be/bluepatchy/nailfix.zip\")
UNZIP it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

==Download and Install this small program
to help clean your temp folders,cookies, etc...
Windows Cleanup (http://\"http://downloads.stevengould.org/cleanup/CleanUp40.exe\")
Give the link time to load or try it twice, it may be busy
Install for now, don't run a scan yet

Set Windows To Show Hidden Files and Folders
    * Click Start.
    * Open My Computer.
    * Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
    * Select the View Tab.
    * Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
    * Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
    * Uncheck the Hide Extensions for known file types
    * Click Yes to confirm.
    * Click OK.

Please Print this out or save these instructions to a Notepad file and save it to your Desktop
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE (http://\"http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001060608000039?OpenDocument&ExpandSection=4#_Section4\")
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, after the single post beep, or use the link

Find and delete this file
C:\Documents and Settings\Jascha Baltussen\Local Settings\Application Data\microsoft\internet explorer\V0.26.dat <-file

==Open Windows CleanUp!>>START>>programs>>Cleanup!
Click on the CleanUp button, let it finish scanning for files, when it's done
Decline to Log off

=Do a search for this next file
scvhost.exe <--NOTICE the spelling, Let me know which folder you found it in, if it exists, send it to the recycle bin for now
This is not the legitimate file "svchost.exe" <--do not delete this file
Notice the (v and c) are reversed

==Open the Nailfix folder
Double-click on Nailfix.bat.  Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows,
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Restart back to Normal mode

Do another scan with hijackthis and post a fresh log

Open the FindIt's folder and double click on the FindIt's.bat
Wait for the log and post it back here

Use the browse button and navigate to this file on your hard drive
C:\WINDOWS\system32\M404.exe <-this file
Right click on it  and choose Select
Then use the Submit button
Let it finish scanning
Could you post back the results of the scan back here please, just the scanner results

I did almost everything, except I didn't find the Nailfixforder, neither Nailfix.bat

I found scvhost.exe in C:\WINDOWS\
Now it's in the recycle bin.

I removed in Hijackthis the entries you've given.

Looks better, but let's make sure you run this tool
Please download Nailfix from here:
This is a new fix, please ensure you have this version
Choose Save to disk, rather than open when clicking the link

UNZIP  it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.


Do another scan with Hijackthis and put a check next to these entries:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Startpagina = file:///C:/Program%20Files/Make125/Portal/portal.html

After you have ticked the above entries, close All other open windows, including this one
Leave Hijackthis open and click FIX CHECKED
OK the prompt and exit Hijackthis

Restart into SAFE MODE

Find and delete these files or folders

C:/Program Files/Make125 <-this folder

And these files in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 folder

Double-click on Nailfix.cmd.  Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Restart back to Normal mode

If prompted from Microsoft Anti-Spware about a change
ALLOW it so it won't interfere with any fixes we try

Download and Install the free version of Ad-Aware SE Personal 1.05 (http://\"ftp://ftp.download.com/pub/win95/utilities/aawsepersonal.exe\")
Ensure you have this version or the paid version
Open Ad-Aware, ensure to click the  check for updates now link and Connect to download the latest updates
Perform a Full system scan
When it's finished scanning
At this point you should either right click on the screen and and choose the "Select All" Objects option or individually put a checkmark in each objects checkbox
click on the Next button. Ad-Aware SE will now present you with a confirmation box as to whether or not you would like to remove the objects you have just selected. Press the "OK" button

RESTART your computer to finish the cleaning process

Back in Windows
Run another scan with Hijackthis and post a fresh log

sorry, I forgot to log in.

Now, I took a better look at the logfile, and I see that some of the files I removed last week are back!  

The reason is that, in meantime, the computer has been used by someone else than me.

Can you please tell me, after having removed all spyware, how that I can keep the computer clean?
