Title: please help! pleeeease

I bought GTA San Andreas yesterday, (real copy not warez).  I installed it on my system but whenever i click on the shortcut to play it, i starts spinning in the dvd drive for a minute and then pops up an error that says...."original disc could not be found or authenticated"

it will not let me play the game! i am so frustrated.  i installed the latest firmware drivers for my dvdr but it still doesn't help.

any ideas???????????

I had that happen to me with a game a few years ago.  It ultimately ended up being a problem with my cd rom drivers, but sometimes its not easy to fix.  Best solution is to go to a place like gamecopyworld and try to find a no cd crack.  As much as it sucks to do that since you own the game, it might be easier than trying to fix it.  Although a no cd crack might not exist yet.  Look around a little.

I bought san andreas two days ago and I am having the same issue. It doesn't matter whether I use the my d: drive (cd) or e: drive (dvd/cd).  But if I take out the disc, clean it, blow in the drive, etc, and pop it back in it usually works again.  Annoying as hell, I agree.

I rang a tech support line and he suggested pressing and holding Lshift for a bit as you click on the startup icon it doesn't work everytime and how long and how many times you press it is just luck but thats the only way I can get the game to work. I also have to hold Lshift for Full Spectrum Warrior and Rollercoaster 3 to work! what a pisser must be some drivers missing somewhere?
