basicaly, i aggree with SpaceSquad, windows is crap. i meen come on, crap is crap, u cant make anything else out of it other than more crap (except in microsofts case, they take old stale crap, give it a coat of paint, and then all it windows Xp (which, by the way, stands for " - X - perience" as in experience)

Take that same $2500 dollars and build two BETTER Linux boxes (one server and one client) AND build one Windows computer (for the crap that you can only do on windows) and still have cash left over! it's a no brainer to me!and btw... XP stands for Extra Programming... not experience.

I have a legitimate copy of Win XP Pro. Can I use it's product key to legitimize an illegitimate installation of XP Corp? Or do I need to install XP Pro overtop?

it is the fixed LegitCheckControl.DLL
It is an AutoExe. It will extract in your windows/system32 folder. All you have to do is close internet explorer and double click the file and click on Unzip.
Then go into the windows update site and look for something like Microsoft anti spyware. You will get a prompt that reads:
Do you want to install this software?
Name: Windows Genuine Advantage Validation Tool
Publisher: Microsoft Corporation
Click on install
Then it will read:
System Setting Change
msgbox: You must restart your computer before the new settings will take effect. Do you want to restart your computer now?
Click: NO
Then it will read: "Thank You For Using Genuine Windows"
And then Click the Download Button and you may begin the download process.
When you reboot that LegitCheckControl.DLL will be overwritten so you will have to repeat the process when you want to download a program.
The javascript is great for the service packs but you can't download any software.
You will need to go to the update site via internet explorer not FireFox.

Sure your happy with what you got and you are able to fix config problem and find drivers (sometimes) that you may need at times but the majority of us have PC's and are happy with them regardless of the issues associated with them being targeted by zellots, you all have to get over it !
If the computer world waited for Apple or one of the Linix companys to exploit the humble computer we would still be waiting, at least the off shoot to Microsoft exploiting PC's is that almost ever home has a PC in it and that is a good thing. Yes ?
Think of all the good things that you all enjoy, Internet, Games, Digital Photo's ect, ect well we would not be enjoying them if the market was not there for the produces of such things, they would not bother making a new game if it was for only 1 million people.
So keep you geek opinions to your self, if you dont have anything good to say, dont say anything !

i think thats a long way. what i did was that i download the LegitCheckControl.DLL in one site cant remember the name just override it at system 32 go to my computer check if the windos is legal validate now and done i dont have to repeat again and again
