Title: XP validation problem
Post by: angelkitten on July 26, 2005, 08:01:30 PM
Hello Everyone,

I am having a problem with my Windows Xp, it has SP2 and everything else, until this morning it updated fine.

Microsoft has released a new updated version of it's windows update, which requires a key validation by Microsoft.  My key will not validate, so I can't get past this window anymore to get updates.

Any new keygens/cracks for this problem yet?  I am about to have a wave of angry friends calling me for help, not looking forward to this.

Thanks!

Angelkitten, try the following.....it may work for you /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />

Go to the Windows Update page and go through the process which results in your validation failing. Once it has failed, open (IE6) Tools>Internet Options. Click on the Programs tab then click on "Manage Add Ons". Scroll down the list to "Windows Genuine Advantage" Select it then in the settings area at the bottom of the box click "disable"

Next click OK then go back to the windows update page again and try updating.

Rgds

Microsoft "Genuine Advantage" cracked in 24h: window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all'
AV sez, "This week, Microsoft started requiring users to verifiy their serial number before using Windows Update. This effort to force users to either buy XP or tell them where you got the illegal copy is called 'Genuine Advantage.' It was cracked within 24 hours."

Before pressing 'Custom' or 'Express' buttons paste this text to the address bar and press enter:

    java script:void(window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all')

It turns off the trigger for the key check.

Hey
  BILL HATES /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
It works like a charm, but you must use it each time you update...
Do you know if there is a way to shut that VALIDATION crap off for good?
 Thanks for the help
