OK guys...This might test your abilites, not only becaue of the problem, but because its gonna be hard for me to explain things being an absolute technoloogica cretin.
My computer is on a network, My dads computer in the room next door is the main one. I cant get online unless his is online. His is online at the monent (obviously, since i am using his computer to write this)
Something happened to my computer yesterday. My dad cant help because he wwent on holiday yesterday. typical!
Every 8 seconds or so, the desktop icons and the start menu dissapeared. then re-appeared. then dissapeared. then.....you get the picture. I also was suddenly unable to connect to the internet.

continued.....hit 'post' accidentally.
Anyways, i fixed then dissapearing desktop icon by running a virus program, but i still cant connect to the web.
There is a problem with the network, i think. Usually, i can play the music on my computer, through this computer.
If i try to do that now, it says "chris\mymusic is not accessible"
"the network path was not found"

I think it is connected to a router with broadband. There is a little blue box in this room with a wire that goes through a hole in the wall into my computer. There is also something called a 'USB' under my feet in the room with the working computer (host computer??) The wires dont seem to have been knocked out or anything
i use windows XP and the main computer uses windows 2000, i think
