Title: Win2K Warcraft 2 problems
Post by: Grubby on October 06, 2001, 02:41:59 AM
I am running Win2k and wanted to play warcraft 2 for nostaligia I installed it but it won\'t play any sound AND my mouse is onli working on the top left of the screen I am at a loss to fix this.

My system is PIII 733Mhz
I have 512Mb RAM
Soundblaster Live Value sound card
Asus Riva TNT2 video card

I have all the latest drivers but I don\'t know why...
Also I have an LS-120 drive which reads normal LS-120 disks but won\'t read normal ones so I can\'t make a bootable floppy. Every time I put in a normal disk it displays this disk hasn\'t been formatted  blah blah blah.... when these disks work on other drives....also it won\'t format ANY disk LS or not!!

Perhaps a DirectX issue?
Make sure you get the latest updates for the game & DirectX for microsoft
Have you run that game fine on that comp under a dif. OS?

Which release of war 2 are you trying to play, the Battle net edition works very smoothly on 2k but to original dos version will usually fail. As war 2 BNE is only £10 GBP or equivalent in USD I would recommend upgrading if you don’t have it.

If you do have it have you got the latest patch on it???

You can get it from www.blizzard.com
