Title: Windows XP Network Password?

I just got an older computer for running games on a LAN, and have just connected them to the network (MSHOME).  I can see both machines on the network, but when I try to access either of them, I am promted with for a password, and the user section is greyed out.  I have both computers set up for sharing, but I still get asked for a password.
I never set a password and none of my windows logon passwords work.  Does anyone know why this is happening?  The same thing comes up when I connect my friends laptop to my network.

Any help would greatly appreciated, thanks.

Enable Guest account (if you have XP or create Guest, if an earlier version of Windows).
