I locked your other topic, we'll stick with this one
Can you do the following please
==Download and save WinPFind.zip (http://\"http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/oldtimer/WinPFind.zip\")
UNZIP the contents to your desktop
Don't run it yet
RESTART your Computer in SAFE MODE (http://\"http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001060608000039?OpenDocument&ExpandSection=4#_Section4\")
You can do this by tapping the F8 key as the system is restarting, just before Windows loads, or use the link
I supplied for a more detailed explanation
Open the WinPFind folder you extracted to desktop
Double click on WinPFind.exe
Click START SCAN
This could take some time as it will scan your drive
Close out after
Restart back to Normal mode
Post the results of the WindPFind.txt located in the WinPFind folder
Can you also do the following
Open Notepad (START>>>RUN>>>type in notepad)
Hit OK
Copy the contents of the CODE box to notepad, not including the word "code"
Click on File>>Save as
Name the file as Find.bat
Save this on the desktop
dir %Systemdrive%\rundll32.exe /a h /s > files.txt
start notepad files.txt
Double click on Find.bat
Wait for Notepad to open and copy and paste back the contents
-
Volume in drive C is DRIVE
Volume Serial Number is F860-5A46
-
Where's the log from WPFind????
Also, go back and double click on Find.bat
Don't get so impatient, I know files.txt will produce on your desktop but wait for the notepad file too open, this may take about 10 seconds or so
-
brb shopping ill post the winPfind thingy
-
The winpfind jsut goes for like an hour and noting comes up ... i think it doesnt work. it says when u try to run a scan " File not Found" then you continue and the u run a scan and it says " Access Violation at adress 0044ED03 in module 'WinPFind.exe' . Read of address 00000004" .. what do i do?
-
Please make sure you run Wpfind.exe in safe mode
If you don't it won't work sometimes
Also, I asked you to do this
Also, go back and double click on Find.bat
Don't get so impatient, I know files.txt will produce on your desktop but wait for the notepad file too open, this may take about 10 seconds or so
What happened to that?
To help get your system back to normal I'm going to need your complete cooperation
Please be patient and read everything thoroughly that I post
Don't just post part answers, try and do what you can and let me know what you can't do later
If you can't run none of the above let me know
Were you able to restart into safe mode?
Please post a fresh hijackthis log
