Title: Safe Mode

OK so my daughters laptop picked up the Trojan Vundo dog.   Everything tells us to go into the Safe Mode and do this or that.
But when I hit F8 and go into the Safe Mode I never get anything but a black screen with Safe Mode displayed in all 4 corners.   No other icons appear.

Anyone have any ideas
