Title: My scanner doesnt work

I havent used my scanner in a long time.  Now when i press the button to scan it doesnt do anything and when i try to go to the program to my photo center it wont let me acquire anything.  I have ScanJet 5100C.  I tried downloading a driver at http://www.download.com/HP-ScanJet-5100c-D...8_4-895440.html (http://\"http://www.download.com/HP-ScanJet-5100c-Driver/3000-2118_4-895440.html\") but it wont let me install the program.

I don't get too involved in the hardware issues
As the Malware keeps me quite busy

But If you need a hand, you will have to supply more info

If it won't let you install the drivers you might have spyware issues.

XP Home Edition
HP Pavilion
Pentium4 1.80ghz
512MB RAM

I dont think its spyware, I cleaned my computer with the help of this site.

It could be that it's not compatible with XP
The driver you were trying to run from download.com is for Windows 95/98/NT

Have you tried here?
