On occasion I have downloaded .avi files (not sure what type), and generally what happens when I open them is that they open, start to run for a few seconds...then my system restarts. *Click* When I log back in a message saying "Windows has recovered from a serious error" comes up, and asks to send an error report.
This happens with most.avi files and not with any other media file. I'm using the K-Lite mega codec pack & opening them with Media Player classic. I know this isnt a critical problem, but its quite annoying, and I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this.
If a hijackthis log is needed let me know

WinXP sp2, 1.2g AMD, 384 RAM
