Hi there.
I need help with my computer crashing.
I have totally cleaned all malware with the help of guestsolo.....
I had a trojan horse and it took ages to get rid of but now everything is running smoothly.
However, when playing a game or when simply on the net, the computer crashes and restarts.
This is the error message;
C;\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini010306-01.dmp
C;\DOCUME~1\MRSSKE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER6.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml
Can anyone halp?

This could be a driver or hardware fault
Back to what I asked in your other post
Do you know what make and model your computer is?
Have you checked the manufacturer for updates?
Additionally, can you right click on "MyComputer"
left click Properties
Under the Advanced tab>>Startup and Recovery
Click Settings
UNCHECK>>Automatically Restart
OK it
Next time the computer crashes, can you post back the exact error message displayed please
-
I have written the make & model in the other post (under Trojan horse thread)
Moved that info here
AMD Athlon Processor...80 gig
Gigabyte motherboard GA 7PXE
512 mb RAM
Have unchecked Automatic Restart in MY COMPUTER.
It even has an error message when it restarts. same as above but with a 5 in the first line (instaed of a 1)
C;\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini010306-05.dmp
C;\DOCUME~1\MRSSKE~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER6.tmp.dir00\sysdata.xml
It crashed twice while I was replying to these threads...
Thanks

Can you try something for me please
Go to START>>RUN>>Type in
msconfig
Hit OK
Under the Boot.ini tab put a tick in
/Basevideo
Apply it and close
Reboot the computer
Back in Windows, everything is going to be a lot bigger, it will look a lot like safe mode
Does the system still crash when you run IE?
-
WOW! It is much bigger.
So far, no crashes. I will let you know because sometimes it can work OK and after a while it crashes.
I will check in each day for a progress report.
Thanks so much...you are a gem!

I don't want you too keep it that way, it could mean your Video card drivers are corrupt
and need updating
I can link you too a program that can check what video driver you may need
Let me know how it's going, we'll go from there
-
Hi again
No crashes but I just came back to report that i cannot keep it this way because Ewido won't start (unless in safe mode) and my game that I am playing cannot find video card.
Maybe an update may be a good idea?
Thanks a lot

Can you download this tool please, save the Zip file to your desktop
Everest Home edition, it's been discontinued but you can find the download still at this link (http://\"http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Info/Everest-Home-Edition.shtml\")
Create a new folder for this please
UNZIP the contents to that new folder
I would like to see a log from this, but I will PM you
Check your PM messages later please
