Intel's official stance is that the Socket 478 P4s are NOT compatible with the 915 chipset. Well Albatron proves them wrong.

This board absolutely rocks. I've been using this board for 1 month now and it is rock solid stable. Overclocking was no problem even with all 4 memory slots filled. This board retails for around $90 and may be hard to find but if you own a 3GHz or faster socket 478 CPU it is definitely worth the look. This board will work with any 533/800MHz FSB socket 478 CPU but IMO if you aren't in the 3GHz club you may as well upgrade your proc. Playing F.E.A.R. with my current setup at max settings at 1600x1200 is no problem at all. I never would have thought a 3 year old processor still had a useful gaming life but Albatron makes it possible. This is the forth motherboard this processor has been in. I purchased it used back in 2003 and plopped it in a Gigabyte i850 PC 1066 RDRAM mobo. The caps blew on the Gigabyte so I sold my GB of RDRAM for $400 which covered the cost of an Abit  i875P mobo and 1GB of Mushkin memory. This setup was noticeably faster then the RDRAM setup. Now I breathe new life into my good ole 3.06 by placing it in what will probably be its last home. Definitely faster than the Abit board and contains the biggest feature of all, PCI-E! Everything about this board is top notch. The 1 and only complaint I have is the lone IDE connector. Eventually I'll upgrade to SATA but for now my old Promise TX2 does the trick.

hey there, I have been looking for a way to use my current setup with pci-e and i've heard so many people say that its not worth is b/c it doesnt run as fast as a comparitive AGP setup.. I also noticed ASUS makes a few 478/PCI-e mobos too...

What do you guys think?

I really want to get the 1900xtx but dont want it to be crap after i spend 750 on doing this conversion..
