I just purchased Windows Xp OEM, and do not want to register the SW. I am a sucker for new SW, but I hate the fact that MS is forcing registration. I will have a valid Key. I just want to know the best way around the product activation. Also I don’t want to be pestered when I upgrade equipment.
Thanks for any help.
-
If you can get you hands on acopy of the XP corporate edition, activation is not required
-
Activate it and make a Ghost image afterwords.
-
or just copy wpa.mdb from the system32 dir and just re-copy it back, if\'s it less than 6 major hw changes in 6 months it should be ok
-
you talk about activation cracks in your subject but your body talks about registration. so what is is that you don\'t want to do? you can activate windows and not register. activation is necessary...registration is not!!!! registration has never been necessary to run a microsoft operating system.
-
I had thought activation was tied into registration.
I guess what I\'m talking about is activation, whatever it is that requires me to have to contact MS whenever I change HW.
I was thinking that if I made a copy of the CD, replacing the setupp.ini so it thought it was a corporate edition, and then tracked down a corporate key. I might be able to bypass activation.
-
corporate edition / volume edition has a few files that are diffrent, pluss some files are not registered during an install
changing the pid justs changes the look during the setup
PS I have access to a volume licence but it looks like the Retail version during the setup
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
-
Hi!
I thought that activation is a must no matter which license you have.Using CR@CZ might make your genuine WinXP VIRAL.
What about the difference between MSDN Volume licensed and corporate version?
I can tell the difference between OEM, RETAIL, UPGRADE, CORPORATE , but not MSDN one.
Mzee
-
microsoft releced a volume licence to corprate business so there techs could install 100+ copy onto a large network of pc and not have to register each one. If you gat a copy of win xp or office xp from your local pirate, it will of this type as it doesnt need regerstring.
-
I\'ve got a copy of windows xp home edition and need the Product ID, anyone have this? Thanks
-
I remember seeing a work around for this somewhere. I\'m pretty sure you can just go into the registry and theres a key for activation. Then all you need to to is change it from a 0 to 1. I think its under Local Machine --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Current Version
Not 100% about that path
If I can find that info again I\'ll link to it
-
that key is only active in the beta relieces
MS relieced that key as the testers had to re-regester on every config that they tried!
-
I have corporate and all activation does is tell them who has the software. if u have a pirate copy and a good key then they\'ll never know the difference.
-
Could some kind soul send me the wpa.mdb from the system32 direcory, if that indeed works? I too purchased both XP Professional Upgrade and Office Pro upgrade. I\'m a UNIX concentrated techie and tripple boot my systems (a laptop and two desktops) -
I already gave bill a thousand dollars of my hard earned cash that day, I\'m afraid that if he gets any more, he\'s just going to explode - ergo, we\'ll be doing him (and me) a big favor! [email protected]
Muchos Gracias!
-
using somebodys else\'s WBA.dbl file will only work if they have onlmost identail hardware, if there is more than 3 difrences, or a diffrent Mother Board it will be rejected and re-ask for registration!
-
YOU CAN NOT GHOST XP IT DOES NOT WORK IT CURRUPTS IT ANY VERSION.
-
Norton ghost 2002 is xp and xp pro compatible
-
This is simply not true. I have used Ghost32.exe and ghost.exe (formerlly ghostpe.exe) many times - The only problem I\'ve seen is it cannot read disks greater that 80 MB in size.
Question - Why would an OS be particular to a bit-wise, sector-by-sector copy, derrived soley from the physical disk geometry? Obviously, the OS wouldn\'t even be live, ergo, you\'d be booted from a 98 / ME floppy and running DOS anyway. I\'ve been doing the same thing on EMC and Clarrion Fiber DASD through ESCON and now TCP/IP channels for several years. It works wonderfully, checksums the results for absolute commitals, it\'s lightening fast ( like 10 minutes in PC land for 10 GB exact replica) - It is one or two levels under the OS, under the filesystem.
Please clarify (perhaps you\'re referring to the \"DataMover\" app (when c turns into d, change all references.. I wouldn\'t trust that either - even in a 16 bit and fat simplified environment.)
In regards to \"it only works if the machines are almost identical..\", then how does an Enterprise do a large install with such a boiler plate mechanism in place? I\'ve been at a few large shops, their PC architectures vary widely.

-
I had a few problems with Ghost 2002 myself. Every time I would restore an image, the image would be placed in a different area of the hard drive than it was origionally. Added the crc check when creating the image and it was fixed. So, it does work with XP.

here is what your looking for...
On the first boot after install is complete, boot into SAFE MODE
(thats the F8 key) and open regedit.exe
Locate this following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersion
change the \"RegDone\" key value fron 0 to 1
Then find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
Close regedit and do the following:
Go to StartReboot

that only works for pre reliece versions like a beta
/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />

what does that do?
-
Thank you Bwana - You are most kind, and it looks like you know what you\'re talking about. I wonder if this will work with Office 10 [XP] Professional, or alternatively, if I register on one machine/OS, I can duplicate like registry entries. Doesn\'t matter, because you\'ve given me the idea. All together now, \"Use diff!\"
// To reiterate, I purchased one full set of XP Prossional OS and Office (then went out and robbed a poor 711 clerk to pay for it) - but still, I have multiple OS on a couple machines. I can only use one at a time for goodness sake. //
-
ive ghosted xp on my own three systems and it worked for me
-
could you tell me the code that you recieved from anybody because i am in the same situation as you
-
I have a nice Activation Crack that works on I think about all of the Windows xp Editions..... Just type in windows xp activation Crack in like the search engine www.google.com You then choose the site you want to download it from ....
-
I know about the different files for the corporate version which doesn\'t need activation... but WHICH are those files?
-
i need a PID for xp v 2600

what is a corporate edition? is it the same as the pro edition?
thankz
-
The corporate edition is a special version of the Pro-edition. It does not require a machine-specific activation code. It does still request that you register after installation. Registration is optional and does not affect the operation of the software. The corportat version is Microsoft\'s way of making XP \"user friendly\" for large corporations. Just imagine an IT manager at a company with 500+ desktop computers trying to install and then \"activate\" a copy of XP on every one. And then the hassle of updating the activation every time one of the units needed major service.
Although I do not advocate software piracy, there are copies available for evaluation and backup if you search well enough.
-
I have the Corp version of XP, you can get it on Mirc really easley
-
i cannot find the \"activation required\" file on that program i can find the other one though
-
Ok, I\'m sorry, I can\'t seem to gather the info I need from all this. I have an OEM version of XP Home. I don\'t want to have to register with MS which is what XP will force me to do if I just install and sit back. What do I have to do to load/activate XP no strings attached and be able to modify hardware later?
Also, can someone else confirm the first answer I get (just to make sure the post after this one is in regards to this)?
-
Also, what\'s this Bootable XP CD about? Is that just and easy way to load it or is there some other benefits?
-
thanx for that but thats is for WinNT but what about Win98SE.
does the path stay the same with just changing the WinNT to Win98 or is there a totally different path or way i should follow.
pls answer.thanx.
-
hey, i have the pro upgrade for win xp, i just burned it from a friend by converting it to iso image, then burning it to disk, the guy lost his cd cover with his pid, and i cant even install it, and now i need to know any way possible to get this sucker to work. Please reply.
Thanks

With a hexeditor edit a copy of winlogon.exe (c:windowssystem32winlogon.exe)
Change position 39662h (or 39660h sometimes)
8B D1 57 33 C0 .....
with these bytes
C7 06 01 00 00 00 83 EE 04 C3
Save and then replace the original winlogon.exe with the newone.
Must be replaced at
c:windowssystem32 and c:windowssystem32dllcache
In order be able replacing these files you must boot winxp in SAFE mode, or out from XP (real DOS, win98, etc).
Now XP HOME or PRO are activated.
-
Thanks for this great post !!!! OK on XP Pro.
Iv bought a licence and i think this is enough. There is NO logical need to \"activate\" something i use in fact (on the other side) legal.
-
Guys, I purchased XP pro and installed it on my system. I have one PC on which I use a removable hard disk, one has internet access (and nothing of real importance that a virus could screw) and the other is high end CAD programs. I want to use XP on both systems, but don\'t wish to buy two copies. From what I\'ve read above, the content of the activation code is dependent upon the hardwar config (correct?). Will the activation key provided work on both systems? I\'d hate to activate one then realise that I can\'t activate the other. Thanks in advance!
-
I have bought an Upgrade for XP and need to know if i can put it on more then one computer??? Help me.
-
Use modified \"winlogon.exe\" (posted a few days ago) in each copy. With this modified file u can use so many copies as you wish
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />))
But legal is ONLY one (in single licence)...
-
This modified winlogon file does not work, advance your clock one year and see what happens, you\'ll be in a right jam.
On the subject: once i adjusted my clock to one year ahead to see if this crack works, I ended up in an eternal loop at logon with a message saying this copy had to be registered, It would not allow me to register just kept loging on and off. Is there a way to stop this?
-
Did you get an answer to your question? I am in the same situation.........Thanks in advance
-
Sorry, maybe youv made a mistake. This way modified winlogon *IS* OK!
A few my friends tested it so. Now i have set year 2003 for 5 days - everything is fine.
-
Be *SURE* youv made this winlogon swap at the *FIRST* login (safe mode) immediatelly after install.
So your winlogon *MUST BE* prepared before !!!!
Expand your \"winlogon.ex_\" from install CD and have it prepared for the first safe login...
Thats all !!!!
My instalation is dated on 01-15-2002. My current computer date (while writing this post) is *11-04-2002* WITHOUT activation !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If this crack doesnot work, i couldnt write this post. Undestand now ???
-
...and after all i recomend :
do not delete or owerwrite original winlogon files (dirs sys32 and sys32dllcache), just rename them into \"winlogon_orig.exe\" etc.
wish you luck
-
The registry editing is only part of cracking XP, i think you still need to replace the login & a few dll\'s!
-
I have a legit copy of XP Pro but do not want this activation nevertheless. I have located the win32 directory but i can not find this dllcache file you mentioned. Where is this? Can I just save the winlogon file with the new numbers and put it in a floppy and just replace at first safe boot?
THanks
-
I found the directory. So all i have to do is save the winlogon file with hexedit with the new numbers and save onto a floppy. Than after installing XP, upon first boot, go to safe mode. Next go to those two directories and rename winlogon with winlogonorig or something and drop in the modified file onto both directories?
-
alejandro
-
....too late.
Once more (and last time): you MUST have prepared modified wonlogon BEFORE first safe login after install ended (use floppy).
When you login into XP for the FIRST time on normal mode, maybe this recipe wont work... I did NOT test it.
Go this way :
1) prepare modified winlogon (works with ver 2600)
2) install clear XP (Pro or Home)
3) the *FIRST* login into installed XP *MUST BE SAFE*, login as admin
4) locate windirsystem32dllcachewinlogon.exe and rename it into \"winlogon_orig.exe\"
5) copy modified winlogon into dllcache dir
6) locate windirsystem32winlogon.exe and rename it the same way
7) copy modified winlogon into system32 dir
8) reboot, all done
-
you will find that will only work on beta or RC versions, this is because MS didnt want all the testers to wast time with WPA insted of finding busg
-
I have a copy of Corp version of XP can MS hunt me down, if so will they just stop me from using it or I\'m going to Jail! I have DSL on a network?
Thanks
-
Did you see the movie \" The green mile \" , ever heard of \"dead man walking \" ,or \" the bounty hunter \" .
I would always look over my shouder from now on .
Serious now , I hope for your sake Microsoft will not bother you but you never know .
-
hey, I got a copy of winXP \"corporate\" last night. or at least thats what i says it is. Are there any visible differences in the corporate version or is it just the removal of the activation b.s.??
any info is appreciated.
-
Flames, you need to check your spelling every once in a while bud. 9 typos in 2 sentences is pretty bad.
-
I just purchased XP PROFESSIONAL OEM and want to be able to install it on 4 different computers. Can I get something that will let me do this and not have to buy 3 more.
-
Unless your license states otherwise, you have to have four copies of WinXP if you want to install it on four different computers.
-
oh well, at least there wernt 10 typos
/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
I usally check for typos, but I\'m so bad a spelling I can miss some quite easly
/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' /> The big Question is did you get the message, If you did they typos didnt make a big difrance to the message.
-
I suppose it\'s the same , apart from the activation .
I think it\'s meant for corporatives so they can install it on different computers and do not need to activate it .
personnaly I never got a corporate copy .
-
Anyone used this and succeded?
-
This fix works great, and without any complications. For those of you have trouble with the fix you may want to check your version. I too, have set my clock ahead a few years and have had no trouble. One question I do have is regarding Office XP. Is there a way to kill the activation on this suite, or can I simply modify the winlogon.exe file again?
-
So, this will not work on the retail XP Pro? Will it or will it not fireball? I have a retail XP pro.
-
SO THERE IS NO WAY AROUND IT? I JUST HAVE TO GET 3 MORE COPIES?
-
I purchased Windows XP Professional. I have a home LAN with three computers. I use an old Pentium 120 for the server and the other two are AMD machines-A one GHz and a K6-2 500. I use the 1 Ghz, so naturally, I installed the new O/s on my machine. Well, my machine didn\'t like it, rather my video cam, USB port replicator, and HP scanner. Since, these items work just find with Win98SE, I decided to back out of the update on my computer and try it on the K6-2. That machine worked fine, but of course the Activation nightmare began. I had already activated when I installed it on the 1gig, so of course I couldn\'t activate it again. So, after two separate calls to Microsoft and swearing I\'m not using one copy of their precious software on two machines, they gave me another activation code (50 characters). I typed it in and everything’s okay. My bitch is, why this is all necessary? The corporate versions don\'t require activation, nor do most OEM installs on pre-assembled systems. This intrusion is just too much! After I pay for something, I shouldn\'t have to \"check-in\" with BigBrotherBill so I can use what I bought!!! Hope someone figures an easy \"activation\" patch so we users can forget Microsofts B.S.
-
Hmmm..........
you say that yous set your date 1 year forward to see if the crack has worked..... so instead of using the crack couldnt u just set your date back to avoid the 30 day activation period?
-
Sure, the key would be printed right on the cd case!
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
-
i installed teh xp pro which hung or froze after the 14 day trail period. the activation sucks big time and if anyone knows and can tell me how to get past it, it\'ll b gr8.
i could not find the second key and got really confused
i tried the path ???
thanx
this was the path
\"
Then find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
\"
-
One way I know is,
To get \"Corpfiles\", if you are using Xp Pro. Just get on bearshare or your favorite p2p file sharing program and search for it. It should be about 13mb in size zipped.
Copy the XP cd to a temp dir, and then apply the i386 folder (and everything in it) fom the Corpfiles package, to the i386 folder in the XP cd temp dir. Then install from the hdd or burn the Windows files to a cd and boot from a set of XP setup disks (of course with more work, you can make it bootable).
As you probably guessed, Corpfiles turns the retail version into corporate edition, which does not require activation.
**You will need to use the key that is included with Corpfiles**
-
hi,
where do i get a modified winlogon file?
tks
-
I did not find the \"Activation Required\" key can you please give more details.
-
Are these steps also work for Windows XP Home edition? I have tried the WinXP Activation Removal utility last night on my WinXP Home and it did not work. Is there a key gen for WinXP Home? I am using Windows XP Pro - Corp and it works great without Bill Gate Sucker asking for registration.
here is what your looking for...
On the first boot after install is complete, boot into SAFE MODE
(thats the F8 key) and open regedit.exe
Locate this following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersion
change the \"RegDone\" key value fron 0 to 1
Then find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
Close regedit and do the following:
Go to StartReboot
-
there is a new key generator
³ The new Microsoft XP program suite - everyone knows them, no one likes ³
³ their product activation because it restricts the use of a cd-key to a ³
³ single installation. ³
³ This keygen computes random and virtually unique cd-keys for either Office ³
³ XP Pro or Windows XP Pro, which can be used to install and *activate* ³
³ these products on a unlimited number of systems - without risking to ³
³ invalidate a patched version by a product update ! ³
³ It says compute and not generate because it takes some time to verify, if ³
³ a random cd-key can be made valid (use the benchmark mode to check how ³
³ long that should take on your system). Unfortunately can not every random ³
³ cd-key be made valid, so it usually needs more than one try to compute a ³
³ valid cd-key (chances are aboout 1 to 40). In general it takes about five ³
³ to ten minutes to come up with a usuable cd-key.
-
Hey everyone,
I had my friend download xp pro corp for me and I was just wondering if I used a valid cd key could I get caught. I heard that as long as you have a valid cd key you will be fine but I just want to make sure. Could someone please tell me if you can get caught??? Thanks!!
-
i have been using XP corp as long as it came out, and used those key that came with the ISO i downloaded, and i don\'t have no activation like other said for corp versions, and i haven\'t got cought yet!!! hehe, do it at your own risk(but i don\'t think you will get cought tho)
-
Does anyone know if there is a xp corprate Home edition or does the home edition only come in the retail/oem versions
-
I just downloaded Win XP Corporate and the file wont open. What do I do? I dont have a burner or anything. Somebody please help! I formatted my HD just for this and now everythings gone and XP isnt working. So if you can help! PLEASE!
-
What is Windows XP Pro\'s current build number? Because I need a self extracting file and all i can find is of Build 2600.
-
The Final release (so far) of Windows XP Professional, be it the corporate edition or not is build 2600.
-
Oh okay thanks. Lets hope this works.
-
ghost and drive image pro does not currput anything... i use it daily at work and at home on all OSs, including WinXP
-
You all should just try to find the Corporate edition of XP.
The serial number is all over the internet.
I highly doubt microsoft will go after individual users, it would be too expensive. They are after businesses who don\'t buy their stuff.
However, I wouldn\'t put intentional \"bugs\" in the O/S past them. Or spying on us either.
-
I have successfully installed an \'activated\' XP Home by using a hex editor to change about 8 bytes in winlogon.exe. This may have to be done on install, I never tried it after the first login... Already have valid CD key.
Instructions I found...
With a hexeditor edit a copy of winlogon.exe (c:windowssystem32winlogon.exe)
Change position 39662h (or 39660h sometimes)
8B D1 57 33 C0 .....
with these bytes
C7 06 01 00 00 00 83 EE 04 C3
Save and then replace the original winlogon.exe with the newone.
Must be replaced at
c:windowssystem32 and c:windowssystem32dllcache
Boot from a 98 startup disk to change files.
I used a hex editor free from http://www.durward.com/hextool/index.html (http://\"http://www.durward.com/hextool/index.html\")
Tried move clock forward 1 year, also added 2 hdds, moved CDrom, no probs. Good luck.
-
I can´t find the Activation Required key value
-
This is a reply to DennisP\'s post @ 02/10/02 02:01 PM.
You are\'nt buying a copy of windows itself as in the program you\'re actually paying for a LICENSE to use the software on X number of machines depending on the amount of LICENSES you buy.
I think it said u can run xp on 1 home computer and 1 laptop but I could be wrong.
-
I to have the same problem 480mb plus exe file that I cannot expand
-
Doesn\'\'t work !!
Can\'t find the Activation Required in the regs

I had an activated copy of Windows XP Home on my pc(Legal version) that was activated. I wanted to put a copy of another pc.
This second pc was completly different specs to the first one. Different board, cpu, hard disk, video, sound, nic.
So, I took the hard disk from the second pc and installed it as a slave on the first pc.
I copied everything from the first hard disk to the second. I removed the second hard disk and put it back in the second pc.
After booting up I got a BSOD, which considering I was using different hardware was pretty obvious.
So, I booted using the xp cd, chose the recover option from the boot up menu. XP repaired itself and started fine.
But it didn\'t prompt to be re-activated.
I have no idea if this will work for anyone else, but could be worth a try.
-
Ghosting XP works fine if you use Ghost 6.5 for NT/W2K :-))
-
if you don\'t want product activation go get a dell copy of the windows xp cd from someone. the boot sectors do something to windows xp setup and product activation gets disabled according to one of their documents.
-
hmmmm
I have also been trying to get around xp and its crap but have been unsucceful.
Someone needs to shoot bill gates and his crappy produces.
If you want a real OS get Linux.
Suse Linux is nice
-
There is away around the Activation and getting another Key code
It is very easy and requires a simple phone call.
If you are installing xp to a another computer and need another
key code call up microsoft and say that you installed a new hard drive and i activated xp on the other disk. Act very stupid and
they should buy it.
hehe
Better yet just get Linux it is much better then the crap on XP
-
What if you are not familiar with a hex editor...? I played around with one last night and was totally unsuccessful. More confused than anything. I could not find that string listed... Can anyone offer any help???
-
I\'m not so sure about this editing of the winlogon. I took my winlogon and edited it exactly as described in fireballs post. Then I copied it to a floppy. I then did a fresh install and booted with my win98 startup disk for the the very first startup.
I replaced both winlogon files as told then rebooted. I assumed that at worst I was going to set my clock forward to test it and end up with never ending logon screen, which I got once before with a totally different crack. Anyway it was worse. When it made it to logon screen it just rebooted my sytem violently. I talking violently. It made my hard drive even stop spinning for at leat 5 seconds. I tried rebooting 2 more times and it kept doing it until I replaced the winlogons back to the originals. I did not screw up on the editing either. I triple checked it. However my Windows XP is Windows XP Pro Ver. 2002 . It says 2002 on the box. Could that possibly be newer than the ones you guys are using and maybe microsoft caught on and made it harder for Ver. 2002.
-
You know, it\'s kinda like stealing water from a fire hose with a soda straw...it\'s not really going to be noticed...one little guy in bum f&*k nowhere isn\'t really Microsoft\'s concern. It would cost FAR more money to track you down and far too much in legal fees to really make it worth while...
Now, were you selling bootleg copies, I\'d worry..but come on, just how many people do you think are doing this, and just how much time and effort do you *really* think MS is going to put into bothering one little \"no one\" ?
When was the last time you saw the headline on CNN \"Joe Sixpack jailed for illegally installing Windows 98! Film at 11:00\"
Face it, if they went after every one that had a illegal copy of a Mircosoft operating system, there\'d be no room in jail anymore for anyone!!!!
Peace.
-
If you\'re comfortable with hex editing, that would be the BEST way to do it.
Here is how to crack your own version of XP, this is known as the \"Hunter\" method, named after the person who found
this important section inside the winlogon.exe file.
I have personally tried this on several versions of Pro and Home and have verified that it does indeed work.
Here is how it\'s done, you need a good Hex editor.
Take a copy of your winlogon.exe file and open it up with a good hex editor like ultra edit.
Go to this address: 00039660h
Look for this string:
8B D1 57 33 C0 89 02 89 42 08
And change it to this:
C7 06 01 00 00 00 83 EE 04 C3
Reboot into safe mode and change your view settings to show all files, also uncheck the option
\"hide protected system files\".
Go to these two places and rename the existing winlogon.exe to winlogon.old, and put a copy of your
modified file in it\'s place.
C:WindowsSystem32Dllcache
C:windowsSystem32
(Replace \"C\" with your correct drive if necessary).
Boot back into normal Windows and bang, your system is activated
-
This did not work for me...
I tried 3 different methods.
Needless to say, I\'m still looking for a working way to get around the activation.
Does anyone know how to fix ???
-
AGAIN.... DOES NOT WORK!!!!!!
-
I had major problems too after trying to boot using my old 98 start-up disk - my PC went into a continual loop where it just kept getting to a certain point then re-starting itself. I had to end up running the XP installation all over again. I had to give up on the winlogon.exe crack as no way would XP let me alter it. Even when it appeared to have let me replace it I then found the file size had jumped back to the size of the original winlogon.exe, not the cracked one.
-
Need some help loaded windows XP on three computers have 29 day to activate
Xp was the upgrade how do I get around the activation.
-
Bwana, you’re a god you saved my ass I was sold a bill of goods that damn would read the key code (keygean) it loaded the xp pro upgrade would not activate it.
From there I am in a panic my whole office 5 computers are saying must activate 28 days comes up all the time when you want to do something.
A couple of points coming from an armature make it clear on your Hex editor ultra you can get it free 30 day trial on there site.
Next when you do the winlogon.exe and look for 00039660h your few digests in

Thanks, again for saving me.

All of you guys are going aabout this the hard way. I\'ve tried all this BS on modding this and modding that. Someone gave me a hint which I used. I downloaded BearShare, very similar to Napster, and got the whole XP Corporate iso file and then burned it to a blank CD, along with some other choice programs. No registration, activation or any crap like that. I was somewhat skeptical, but gave it a try. Now I have it installed in this computer and 3 others here at home. It works great!! I have used Windows Update on various occassions without a hitch, on all the computers. It will take a while to download \'cause it was something like 500 megabytes, so hope you have a DSL or cable connection. If you feel somewhat paranoid about Windows Update, you can go to CNET.com and download the catchup utility and it will give you all the updates without passing through the Microsoft \"gateskeeper\". Have any questions, I will be glad to help, I know I have apent countless hours on trying almost anything.
-
Just some info on MS spying on you. For those that are using Profesional or Corporate, haven\'t found it in the home version, but if you go to the administrative tools-Computer Management in the programs menu, got to Users Groups and hit the Users folder, you will find 2 other accounts for Remote Help and something like SUPPORT 39********, those accounts cannot be modified or the privileges cannot be changed. I was reading that those are back door accounts for MS to get into the computer. You CAN delete those just to be on the safe side. I know I don\'t want MS poking into my computer and also download a utility call XP AntiSpy, you can find it through Google and enable the expert settings from the menu. This will disable some of the \"tracking\" items this OS has. There are also some services that can be turned off that might allow some kind of snooping. Who knows what other pre-planted \"bugs\" are in there, but\'s that\'s what I found up ti now. Look under Google.com for XP services tweaks and you can individually enable the services you would need, this also makes the computer more efficient because you are not running additional services that take up system resources. There is a website, don\'t remeber, something BINK, you can find it here at this site, www.dave-partridge.co.uk it has a lot of info for tweaking XP.

That is not true, Ghost 7.0 will happily clone XP.
-
I am working with Version 2002, and have not had to activate my copy. It has been installed since October last year.
Have no idea how this is still working, any ideas?
-
Ok so ive got XP Pro, the Dell edition. Still have to activate the POS. Its been run on multiple machines in the past all of which were activated. But it wont activate on my home machine. You can from experience load 3 of the same Keys into Activate and get away with it... no matter the innerds of the computers. but the 4th one will be the last one you do without gettin a new key or a crack.... so if someone has one that works with XP pro, let me know. The HEX, and REG cracks dont work here.
-
Does anyone really believe that changing just 2 registry keys will get rid of activation process?
-
Some may, It did work for the beta\'s!
With the corprate ver of xp, if you change the software hive to one from a unactivated pro, (dont ask how I did it, If you dont know what I\'m about then sorry) the PC becomes unactivated, SO M$ must store the relevent data with the software section of the registery, I just wonder if anyone will find out were it lives, and how to use it
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
-
reinstall windows and then run the file. It might work, but save the xp installation.
-
why dont you peeps just use xp crack by sad team ? works great !
-
Wonderfull!!! I have just cracked my Italian Windows XP HOME edition with both the hexeditor and regedit metods.Some days ago I have cracked my XP with an Astalavista crack, but today wasn\'t possible to login.Now my EXPIRED 15 days windows xp works fine!!! I can login normally without reinstalling the entire OS.
Thanks, CattiVit
-
At last, someone figured this out, too.
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> I did this with Win98SE after the first reboot. Safe Mode -> regedit.exe -> and you may register windows with 69, instead of RXWBS-SDFFG-FDSZG-DXFGD-DSFVX :> (bogus serial)
All the keys that matter are:
ProductID=\"Luser name\"
RegisteredOwner=\"company\"
RegDone=\"1\"
-
I think some info must be missing here:

Thanks for your post, I just did the same thing; saved the SOFTWARE hive from the LOCAL MACHINE of another PC, imported it into the registry of my destination PC and it worked!!! I even went to M$ and used the activation shortcut and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that I am legal!!! :-)
-
Do you think it would be possible to edit the winlogon.ex_ on the CD, and make a new CD, with the modified version, then install from it?
-
Does that really work before i attemt it?
-
The Registry Editing Thing is the only thing that worked for me... It\'s nice because it doesn\'t just skip the entire activation thing completely (therefore risking the chance of the 180 day timebomb). Instead, after you edit the registery, you can just click \"activate windows\" and instead of asking you for your cd key, it says \"Thank you for activating\"

Why 1st boot after install?
What about 10 or 20 boots after install?
What is the differance?
-
Thanks, but I´m still looking. I´ve got a Danish version XP-proff.
build 2600, and finding the reg done is easy, but what about
the \"activation required\"? It dosn´t exist in my version. Would
be happy to hear any suggestions, You might have.
-
Fireball i just have to say you are the man!!!!
I just bought a brand new copy of Windows XP Pro (2600) and did your winlogon change and it WORKS!!!!
I currently have it set for 2005 and there are no problems. For all those people who say it doesn\'t work you must take him seriously when he says that the computer CANNOT every boot in normal mode before the new winlogon is put in in safemode. I tested it, it won\'t work. You must boot in safemode, after installation but before first reboot, get a command prompt, replace the two files with your new ones and reboot. It will work, and not just betas. I bought my copy a month ago retail. It will work.
Thanks fireball
you saved me alot of money,
a fan
-
I just have to ask how did you change the date, if you did it from windows then you may still need to activate it, but if the BIOS was used then your safe
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
-
The activation winlogon will work exactly as it says. I took a copy (XP home) from a new labtop pre installed version (backup disc) bought from dell and installed it on to my comp. I followed the steps to the t, and everything worked. The only thing you must not forget to do is to rename the original winlogon, otherwise windows will inform you that the file is being used by another user or program (I got held up on that for a sec) I rebooted and worked fine, then changed my clock settings in the bios a year later, no problems. This definately works
-
I quess I\'m a litle dense. How do you expand the winlogon.ex_ file before you install XP?
-
if the file is in iso format you need winISO or similar to extract it
-
previous anonymous guy,
one little problem: you said:
Then find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
Said key does not exist. any ideas what to do?
thnx
-
JUST A WARNING TO ALL WHO CRACKED XP SO YOU DON\'T HAVE TO ACTIVATE!
Do not apply the Q306676 update as it replaces WINLOGON.EXE
I know a lot of people cracked XP activation with this file, so this update will foul things up...
-
Gray,
I don\'t know how to edit the file winlogon.exe before you install, but your supposed to edit after installing and before the first boot up (right after the finalizing installation). Just hit F8 after your bios boot up and you\'ll get 3 safemode options. Select the top option and wait for start up, after choose administator as your user, now you shouldn\'t have any problem editing the file.
-

Yes, I had this problem too... I was trying a number of things, and one of the things I tried was just changing the RegDone to 1.
Then a few days later when I rebooted, I went to \"Activate Windows\" and it said \"WINDOWS ACTIVATED\"
/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />

yes; it can be done you must run sys prep and you must be putting on a machine that has the same motherboard and similar hard ware. the (hal) is messing with the ghosting proccess
but it has been done!!!!!!!
-
what do you mean by making a Ghost Image could you give more and much clear informations?
-
why do regedit in safe mode ? and can corp. ver. be updated with live update?
-
i changed the winlogon.exe but failed..
it keep on reboot no matter i go to safe mode or normal mode...
what can i do to restore it?
thank you very much for anybody\'s help!
-
You rule. This worked. It seems to cause a slight delay at firsrt boot but i it\'s ok!
-
I need help I cant find Dllcache, has it been renamed or something?Cheers
-
the dllcache is a hidden folder ,so u cannot view it using windows me, xp or 2000. if you have 2 os on the drive another is win 98, boot on the win98 and u can see the folder. there is a dos command also to enable viewing it, but i am not sure, u can find it at previous page under this topic
-
That\'s my understanding as well. You may use one copy of xp on a desktop AND 1 laptop. CORRECT!!!!
-
Hex Key method Rules. Saved my ass. Quick,easy and spot on! Take ur time and you\'ll be rewarded. Use Ultra-Edit32 to modify string. Thank you whoever spent their long days figuring this one out. You Rule!
-
during the last reboot my windows xp will ask you want to activate now or later, but i seen someone pc that this question will not be asked. so is there anyway to remove it .
-
I tried the hex version and it WORKS!!! WOO HOO thans alot for all your help.
-
There is a crack on the Internet, seen it in loads of places.
All it does it resets the counter for the grace period back to 0 (zero) so therefore you do not need to ever activate the copy. It also gets rid of the reminder telling you to activate. Whilst this does not get rid of or activates WinXP, at least it works without having to modify any strings and can be applied to any version of XP including the pre release versions.
This has not been tested (as far as I know) on any BETA\'s of SP1, and prolly won\'t work. I know it doesn\'t work in Windows .NET Enterprise Server
-
To restore your windows XP, go to Start, Programs, Accessories, and system tool, and go for Restore. When you restore, select the date that ws fine. Any softwares you had installed after that will not work, you have to install them again.
-
the hex method works but here is another question does any one know how to put the edited so it is installed automatically . i have tried and tried you can unpack the .ex_ file by changing it extenision to . cab and clicking it but i made a new cab file with the edited one and renamedf it didn\'t work when i tried to install any help would be apprieacted.
-
I tried this...
it didn\'t work, I was able to find the regdone key
but the \'Activation Required\' Key was no where to be found.
I didn\'t think that MS would make bypassing the activation step so simple.
Any other suggestions ??
-
Activate it by phone.
Write down the registration code XP gives you, then go to your phone and call Microsoft\'s activation line. You will punch in by keypad your registration code. Then Microsoft will give you the activation code in six number groupings. Write down the activation code as Microsoft gives it to you. Hang up the phone. Go to your computer and punch in the activation code.
Fairly painless, it\'s all automated--you speak to no one. Just make sure that when you are on the phone, family members or roommates, etc., do not distract you.
When you are done. You now have both registration and activation keys so if you need to reinstall, you check your written registration key against the one XP is giving you; if it is the same then your activation key will work. If not, go get another from M$.
The only information M$ could possibly get from you in this exchange is your phone number so use a friend\'s phone, payphone, etc. if you are that paranoid.
cheers.

I tried the regedit method................
On the first boot after install is complete, boot into SAFE MODE
(thats the F8 key) and open regedit.exe
Locate this following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersion
change the \"RegDone\" key value fron 0 to 1
Then find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
Close regedit and do the following:
Go to StartReboot
But couldn\'t find the second key however it STILL WORKED... I tried to activate and was surprised to see a success.....
However I then installed office 2000 and when I try to run office 2000 but it wants me to resister--if I do it says \'Registration could not be completed due to an unknown error (80040901) please register product through telephone\' and then tells me that it will only run 47 more times until resistraion is complete........Can anyone help me any advice would be much appreciated
-
Hey, .. if you think about it man .. it does make some sense... it could be done just althering the registry .. well surely someone will give it a try to see if it works .. :-D.. maybe it will ..
-
Me again ..
Look surely there are enough of XP users out there to figure out a patern in the reg #s .. i mean it is possible to track down some sort of algebreac equation to get the right #s that is how it was mainly done with older ops ..

i aquired a copy of xp pro that has a 180day trial agreement
come up when installing.
half way through the installation it tells me that there is
a file missing do i want to continue.
the file from memory is of the format dgt.dll this may be incorrect
but its near.
just after that it tells me there is another file missing do i want to
continue.
and then it asks me if i want to activate at the end of the installation.
i clicked the remind me later or something like that.
installation went through and no problems up to now.
anybody any idea what these missing files are when installing
could it be something to do with the 180day timer.
i do have to put a product key in when installing(dual boot)
so im not sure if it would ask for it for an xp inst only.

The hex edited WINLOGON.EXE works beauty.
Plus, you can use it any time, no need to catch the first reboot (which I missed of course). I advanced the clock 3 months to test and sure enough, got the \"You need to activate\" nag.
So, copy winlogon.exe to another PC (just easier this way), hex edit the puppy and then copy it back to c:windowssystem32dllcache.
Now, you can\'t replace the c:windowssystem32 copy because it is in use. That is why everyone says you must do this on the first bootup. But, there is a way to get around this.
Reboot using the XP CD and wait for the setup files to load.
Then when prompted, press \"R\" to use the Recovery Console.
Choose your Windows installation (likely 1: C:WINDOWS) by entering \"1\" then \"Enter\".
Type the Administrator password (mine was nothing so I just hit the enter key).
Now using the DOS copy command, simply type:
copy c:windowssystem32dllcachewinlogon.exe c:windowssystem32
Hit \"y\" to say yes to overwrite winlogon.exe.
Type \"exit\" to exit the recovery console and reboot.
That\'s it. Advance your clock a year and check it out. No activation nags.

I have the German version of XP Pro and editing winlogon.exe with a hexeditor worked just fine for me .. the stupid activation message doesn\'t show up anymore

I have an official copy of XP Professional and I have installed it on my computer. Everything is fine.
BUT, Can I install it again onto another machine? I\'m sure the answer is in here somewhere but I NEED to know ASAP. I\'ve so so many cracks everywhere but to be honest I\'m unsure of using any of them.
What is the best thing to do?? Please let me know.
Thanking you in advance.
-
i\'m planning to get a version of XP HOME... wonder which crack works on it.. the regedit one or the winlogon one ?
hope the regedit one works on XP HOME ?
-
I have read every posting and am not sure as to simplest or most appropriate crack for Windows XP Pro. It looks as though there are several, could you refer to the best one;
many thanks.

This \"safe mode\" everything is in dos and screen is blue
or does the computer come as usuall and say running in safe mode?
-
Posted earlier about hex key method. Did y\'all know that after editing and making new WINLOGON, all u have to do is boot into safe mode find the aforementioned winlogon files, you can directly replace C:WindowsSystem32Dllcache winlogon, and then drag the C:windowsSystem32 winlogon to your desktop, rename it winlogon1 place the new winlogon into C:windowsSystem32, reboot, and delete winlogon1 (it may have been renamed winlogon again but the right one is now in place, check if you like with the aforementioned hex editor, but you wont have to because it will now say windows is activated.....) *nb you need to be able to view hidden files and folders to be able to see C:windowsSystem32Dllcache, also always use xp antispy after all this!!!!! have phun y\'all
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> narly strikes again !

I use three removeable hardrives contacted ms the said no have to buy copy for each I told them to [censored] themselves
-
Like everyone....
Ive got several machines and dont think a sinlge user needs several copies of the OS.
Using the call (on the phone) MS method and acting dumb about getting a new Act Code......Will MS be able to deactivate the older code you called in??? Perhaps when the OS does one of those 3 month internal hardware checks. Will it see that something aint right.
The same question does for the Norton Ghosted idea. Will the computer detect the discrepancy between HW and the Code???
-
The hex trick does indeed work. You can do it even after you\'ve booted Windows XP several times. The offset at which the string of hex values starts can be before or after 39662, but they are in that general vicinity.
I just made this work for both Windows XP Home and Professional. Kudos to whoever posted this originally!
-
hey u all i got a win xp pro-croprate needs no activation

-Rename Administrator
3. Now U need to edit the Registery which is Really easy to do
-Start -> Run

-Modify \"RegDone\" to 1
-HKEYSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
-Modify \"Activation Required\" to 0
-HKEYSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
-Modify \"SFCDisable\" to 1
-Close Regedit
4. The final step:

i have not tryed this my self so plz put sum feed back on this post
tanx

Above will not activate xp, is not the winlogon fix. Just so u all know hex key method is only method guarranteed to work if you follow instructions in previous posts. Above method will HIDE the activation dialogue, but will not completely activate xp.Dont run around looking for the right fix when winlogon hex method is 100% effective.
-
you can however (using clone cd )-(roxie cd creator} copy the files from your cd and then burn them. YOU can not copy the cd. YOU have to burn the files from the cd like yoru burning a data cd. I have done this many times. HUSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got my xp pro from xnews works perfert thanks BILL
-
WHAT EVER!!!!!! you know you illegally got a copy and want a crack for it. who ya tryin to fool
-
Hey how did you install from a restore disk. I have one too and would like to reinstall xp without all theother preinstalled software. Thanks for the help
-
Got the activation to work...thanks to all who helped. I am concerned about the windows update though. I want to keep up to date with the current version but I am concerned about downloading something from the update that will destroy all my hard work activating. Also I am concerned about microsoft spying on me with their newer updates. I saw that I should not download the Q306676 update but should I have any other concerns?
-
I would like to give a special thanks to whomever came up with the Hex crack.... It worked exceptionally well
/wink.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\';)\' />
Thanks again,

this worked. Thanks
-
The Hex Code Modification to the Winlogon.EXE method *DID* work for our XP Pro Activation problem. This is the one to try. It will make you very :-) . (Look for the 1/27/02, 2:15PM posting to this thread).
Thank-you Mr Anon,
some very :-) individual
-
use xp anti spy you should have no privacy concerns following activation. Make sure u enable expert settings.
-
I can not find the \"Activation Required\" one, i did the \"RegDone\" one but i cant find the other one. Is there something else i missed or anything that i forgot? Does it have to be right after you install it?
-
How will sp1 effect the hex hack?
-
I wouldn\'t recommend that anymore. Microsoft is onto that serial and is banning it from windows update and on the soon to be released service pack 1. It\'s already banned from the beat of SP1 and the blue list keygen may be next but i doubt they can block that..
just some hany info
-
There is only One way to get around WPA... Get a cd key for each machine you wish to install. Easy Call microsft and give them a bull[censored] story and they will give you a new key. I have done this several times telling them i worked @ a computer store and worked on a customers machine and they lost there key it worked fine come up with somthing original. The other way is to find the All microsoft products keygen - this one really works- I have activated using keys it generated but it takes forever to to find keys. It also generates Corporate keys which work and there is no WPA SP1 Blacklisted one Corporate key....but any other corp key will work
-
You could create an unattened install process that copies the files to the correct locations.
Create a file structure of \"$$system32\" and \"$$system32dllcache\" and place the modified winlogon.exe file in each location.
During the unattend install the files will be copied.
-
i\'m using SYMANTEC NORTON GHOST ENTERPRISE v7.025-FCN with WinXP and its all ok. i\'ve gosted 5 mashine and its ok
-
i heard that by saving a file you can avoid activation without doing the hex edit. does anyone know which file to save
-
You really are the best.
You are the only one with an answer.
Thanx a lot.
-
Hey,
Just wanted to let the person who posted the \"Hunter\" program, that it works like a charm, did it in like 45 min. To all who need a \"you now what\" for BG\'s new eXPerience, try this, it worked for me!!! And it didnt matter if I did it after the first boot, so read on in the forum and give it a try!!
-
Im Going to try and make this as easy as I can:
(This works on XP Home Edition 2600 don’t know about the pro edition can be done anytime within the 30 day trial)
First off go to www.ultraedit.com and download a free copy of ultraedit32
Then make a copy of your winlogon.exe (copy&paste it to your desktop you can find the winlogon.exe Here-- right click your start button click on explore And find your WINDOWS folder click on this and have a look around for a folder called system32 open this and in there somewhere you’ll find the winlogon.exe
Open the winlogon.exe with UltraEdit
Once open scroll down to position -
00039660h: EB E9 8B D1 57 33 C0 89 02 89 42 08 89 42 10 89
And change these numbers to the ones below
00039660h: EB E9 C7 06 01 00 00 00 83 EE 04 C3 89 42 10 89
Now your winlogon.exe has been altered save it to a floppy (Delete the winlogon.exe on your Desktop)
Now! You need to boot in to safe mode and find the winlogon files,
click your start button and click the Run… icon
Copy&paste this address( C:WindowsSystem32Dllcache ) into the Run program
And click OK this will open the dllcache folder find the winlogon.exe and Delete it
Now Copy&Paste your altered winlogon.exe in its place.
Nearly finished
Copy&Paste this Address: ( C:windowsSystem32 ) into the Run….
Program and click OK this will open the System32 Folder and find the Winlogon.exe
drag it to your Desktop and rename Winlogon2.exe and place the winlogon.exe
you Altered in its place.
Now reboot your System!
To find out if it has worked click your Activation button and you will see your copy of Windows XP is Activated
May be a good idea to download a copy of XP Antispy after all this
Le Bonge

All I had to do was: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersion
change the \"RegDone\" key value fron 0 to 1
It was not the first boot and there was not even the other key. I wonder why?
-
Editing the winlogon.exe file worked perfect for me.. Since I was on an NTFS partition, I had to find a DOS program to allow me to look at NTFS partitions so I could replace the files when booting from the bootdisk. Once I did this, it worked perfectly.. If it didn\'t work for you, then you did something wrong...
-
and that program was.... ???
-
The only way you can change the winlogon file as you say is to use a bootdisk but it should be pointed out that the install of XP should be carried out on a FAT32 partition only, as you will not be able to see the NTFS partition.
Good post but just thought this needed pointing out.
Thanx
-
Now there\'s a answer that I think \"I\" may try, thank you... I have been looking at XP for a while now... I currently have Win2000, one one machine and Win98 on another, after using 2000 I see such a difference in the stability that I always hesitate to turn on the newer machine (98) even tho it it much faster and had more ram.
Ummm. looks like I\"m getting off topic here...
-
Hello. You can use a program call NTFS Pro to look at NTFS partitions in Dos. It works great for me I use it all the time at work.
-
Just wanted to thank LeBonge for the info. This one worked for me. It\'s wonderful what we can all accomplish here with help from people like you!
Thanks again.

One way to install xp on more than 1 computer using the same key is to activate the first one over the internet and then activate the rest of them over the phone.
-
I think Fireball\'s way is the only way...
/ohmy.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':o\' />) (it worked fine even with the greek version of win XP pro)
At a first glance, I was a bit confused with a couple of \"steps\" of the whole procedure, but thankfully I found my way out of the darkness :>
So I\'m posting this message \'cos I think there could be others to find themselves in the same difficulties as I did.
1st.(Fireball\'s words: Expand your \"winlogon.ex_\" from install CD and have it prepared for the first safe login... )
-There is an EXPAND.EXE file in the install CD
Run the command prompt from programs menu like this:
(yourCDdrive):>expand winlogon.ex_ c:(destination folder)

The \'Fireball\' and \'Le Bonge\' versions of the crack methods apparently work referring to the users answers. Both methods seem to be similar and build on editing the winlogon.exe file.
Could it be possible to edit the winlogon.exe, compress it back (or leave as is) and substitute the original file on the CD when burning a new one?
-
Umm, when you activate office xp pro edition does it send you a code in the email that says \"thankyou for activating a microsoft product\" Because if it did i kinda deleted the email.... I\'m planning on reformatting my drive soon so is there anyway i can get that code or am I in deep do do?
-
Anybody can answer that? could be very practical!

You guys should try the BlueList KeyGen. Kicks ass! Currently, I modded my XP Pro and XP Home to Corporate.
-
i don\'t think the winlogon hex hack has anything to do with activation. i have a copy of xp corp, and the winlogon is the same as the non-corp editions.
-
the exes are the same !!!
the difrance is with the corp ver other files are difrernt those files refer to winlogon to check if the system is activated with the pro ver, the corprate it just checks that a valid code exzists with the system. so not using winlogon !
-
So here\'s my big question. The hex edit worked fine (after I had already logged in, btw), and it says its activated. So, will this also disable the 180-day eval limit???
-
Just a few questions about the corporate version of xp. Is there only one product key for all corporate versions? If not, what do you think MS is going to do about these copies where hundreds are using the same product key?
Just a thought.
-
I might be out of line here. BUT, why do argue about the best way to do it, IF EVERYONE knows itl.
I tried to ask if someone would have the courage to try the suggestions by(and there I get lost, please, reister ewerybody)
-
actually you can.. just need to keep the orignal hd in your machine for the activation code lol un less you can use the xp atviation crack
-
so why u are here !!!!! Its not your place....
-
The post by fireball works great. You don\'t even need to catch it on the first boot, did exactly as the instructions said as far as editing the WINLOGON.exe file and just placed it in the proper directories. I wasn\'t even in safe mode or nothing like that and it worked great.
Thanks a lot guys, saved me a lot
-
I went through the Le Bonge method and everything seemed to go smooth. After I went through everything and started the final reboot, I can not boot in regular or safe mode. After the Windows XP screen, I am getting a blue screen that says
c000021a Fatal System Error
The Windows Logon System Process Terminated Unexpectedly
The system will shut down
From there it keeps cycling through reboots over and over again. I\'m not sure where I messed up, but I\'d love some suggestions on how to fix it!
-
Hey, those methods DO work. I\'m glad you all took the time to post. I would like to crack another XP Irritation. Let me show you where it is, go to My Computer/explorer, at the top click on Help (drop down menu) and you will see a question: \"Is this copy of windows legal?\" If you choose the question it starts sending God knows What information through the internet. My copy is legal; I paid $99.00 for it at best buy. And like the rest of you, I don\'t want to participate in Microsoft’s information gathering service. It\'s no ones business what hardware or software I have installed in my system.
I don’t want any of my family members accidentally clicking on this XP Explorer Help/Question. If you have any knowledge on how to get rid of this particular BS. Please post!
I need you again Le Bonge and Fireball or anyone else that may know a hack to this problem.

You guys are trying too hard to mod the hell out of files and the registery... Here\'s the way I went about activating Windows XP Professional on a two of my computers at home with one activation key...
First thing I did was I activated the first one legitamitely, but not using the internet. I used the telephone option because I thought I could register another computer with the same confirmation ID they gave me. However, when I tried this on another computer, with the same product id, it didn\'t work. So I called up M$ again, got a customer service representative, and told them I installed and activated Windows XP already but the internet crashed so my DAD suggested i reinstall Windows XP. I told the stupid beyach on the phone that I needed another confirmation ID and she gladly gave me it complete with instructions meant for 4 year olds.
I bet any of you that I could activate numerous more copies of windows xp like this, and so can you. Just remember to sound like a dumb, kind of impatient, customer who is confused and pissed cuz their windows xp won\'t activate. I bet 90% of the people who call are morons fitting that profile, so I doubt you\'ll have a problem getting it activated.
If you don\'t have a genuine, unique product ID to begin with, I\'d use the hex winlogin.exe and use the recovery console to 0wnz the copy in C:WindowsSystem32

Well, I decided that even though the Hex edit of WinLogin worked for the first install, I have a friend sending me his and we will just fake it being a reinstall on his computer. Seems the best way to go to make sure I can still update and such.

Hi all,
Just need a solution.My office has purchased an Compaq PC inwhich we got WinXP Licensed version with the PC .But in that PC we are not installing XP. So I have taken the CD & installed in some other PC , Can I activate this by going to the site or I cant.This is the first installation from the XP Cd.

The best crack costs, as the talented people who produce the crack need to recoup their time, if you catch my drift.
It involved some running around...
Go to a computer store. Buy a copy of XP.
Install it.
Call for activation
There you go! And you have a free coaster!
Better yet, register at oem.microsoft.com, and when they have a presentation for their new products, they give away about $1000 in stuff free

Help wanted fast !!!!!

I have the OEM version of XP and ran into a problem where XP won\'t boot. It gives an error saying unmountable_boot_volume. Basically, the disk is messed up in some critical areas needed for XP to boot. The guy on the help line says this is a known problem, and I may be able to fix it by booting the retail edition CD and doing a chkdsk /r and then I\'ll be able to get to some of my files which aren\'t backed up. Great - but with the OEM versionof XP, you don\'t get a CD that lets you boot and run chkdsk. All I have is a CD with a preload image.
Looked on Bearshare and found a couple of different versions of XP. One version\'s filename ends with \".iso\", the other ends with \".iso.ace\". I\'m kind of new at this... what do I do with these files once I download them? Just burn them to a CD as-is? I guess I was expecting something more along the lines of a zip file.

Do any of the sp1 betas mess up the Winlogon hack?
I did the Winlogon hack this morning and it worked fine. I set the date in my BIOS ahead a year and everything still worked. I clicked on the \"Activate Windows\" shortcut and it says Windows is already activated. I went to Windows Update and was able to download and install updates. So far, so good. Now for sp1. I have build 1086 (this may turn out to be RC1) to try. Does anyone know if this overwrites the hacked Winlogon file? Fireball?
-
hi! tnks.
-
On the first boot after install is complete, boot into SAFE MODE
(thats the F8 key) and open regedit.exe
Locate this following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersion
change the \"RegDone\" key value fron 0 to 1
Then find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
Close regedit and do the following:
Go to StartReboot

will the corporate files work on xp home ???????

What the hell am I missin\' here... I own a Vaio..dead legit.all paid for etc...because it was 2nd hand I did not get into this activaction bit.
I have built a desktop... a \'mate gave me a WIN xp disk to try it worked..perfect..no activation...another \'mate gave me a email to download a prog to create lots of activation codes to circumvent f1 fix\'s. what is the problem with all this... iI am using a legit win\'98 on my desk top as all it\'s used for is video editing...which is also a bitch cause like Microsoft the Pinnacle people always promise more than is delivered
-
Yes you can ghost XP you will need to use the required switches when running sysprep. (ie -activated -reseal and any additional you want...... like -nosidgen)
-
Yes you can ghost XP using sysprep and the switches
in the run command type:
sysprep -activate -reseal
if this is a home computer and you want all your setting to stay ensure you add the -nosidgen.
-
Patching winlogon.exe with hex editor works fine to me.
I try this P using Windows XP Home Edition (Final Version Build 2600). And no need to patch after the first boot after installation. You can do this anytime you want in safe mode or using another os like win98/2k (dual boot).
By modified winlogon.exe, windows will say this machine already activated when you clicking activate windows in start menu. To remove this activate shortcut from start menu you need to unregister regwizc.dll and licdll.dll using regsvr32.exe.
Just start \"run\" and type this
regsvr32.exe -u regwizc.dll
regsvr32.exe -u licdll.dll
Them go to dos prompt and type
del /s /f /q %SYSTEMROOT%System32idwlog.exe
del /s /f /q %SYSTEMROOT%System32wpabaln.exe
del /s /f /q %SYSTEMROOT%prefetchWPABALN.EXE-337AF9CE.pf

Does anyone know how to bypass the activation for Office XP Pro? It\'ll only give me 50 uses for this product.
-
ghost 7 corp and regular work quite well with xp
-
where can i buy winxp corp?
-
here is what your looking for...
On the first boot after install is complete, boot into SAFE MODE
(thats the F8 key) and open regedit.exe
Locate this following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersion
change the \"RegDone\" key value fron 0 to 1
Then find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
Close regedit and do the following:
Go to StartReboot
This trick is not easy for Wnidows XP ,if you have windows 98 then regdone=\"1\" work.Since Micresoft have more intelegent teme then \"haker world\" ,They track all computer of world using IE 4,IE 5,IE 6 and Windows.So if you are from US and you have not registered copy and you use Internet Then you may be in trouble.If you are not form US .Then nothing to worry about.
-
what key you replaced with, how about sp1 1090 can use the same key at hex editor ?
-
Hi, just want to know if the below info is true:
(If you don\'t want product activation go get a dell copy of the windows XP CD from someone. the boot sectors do something to windows XP set-up and product activation gets disabled according to one of their documents.)
I have a PC at work with XP Home on it, which is a DELL machine! If I burn the CD can I take it home, install XP from the burned CD and not have any problems with activation or registration?
If the above is true.... can I still download the XP updates and all without Microsoft finding out?
If anyone can email me with a reply I would most grateful,
Regards
Neil

HeHeHe...that other guy is right about the corporate verison, but my professor said that the activation is just a hoax anyway.
P.S. try a peer-to-peer application. Also ask around i personaly know alot of people with the coproate verison.

I have a question. Can I unCorporate my CD? I have Corporate Professoinal, and want the PID for the normal XP Pro Retail. Then I can half stay legit!
-
And also, then I can have a normal life!
-
ey.... why can\'t I overwrite winlogon.exe????? even if it is in safe mode?, and I can\'t END TAST the winlogon!!!! help!, what should I do?!
-
You cant overwrite winlogon, it is a critical system process. You will have to rename it e.g winlogonold.exe and then drag it to your desktop. Leave it there and replace the edited winlogon file in --> C:WindowsSystem32Dllcache ( enable view hidden files and folders) and, C:windowsSystem32. Also as winlogon is a critical system process you will NOT be able to end task. Follow the instructions posted above re: hex key method, and follow it word for word. Frankly I\'m surprised this post has continued for so long as the method described above DOES work for all 2600 versions of home and pro, so there should be NO QUESTION as to which method to use.
Xploit4Phun.
-
You may not be able to gost xp, but you can make a copy you can edit using CloneCD 4.0.0.10. I turned my edition of both xp home and xp pro into corporate and am running them now on 3 machines in my office, 2 in my home and on one of my sons computers.
-
Thanx!!!!!!
-
yes you need to slip stream the sp1 pro when it comes out into your copy of xp corp
-
I was wondering if that hex method still works on winlogon.exe Q306676 patch which replaces with a new winlogon.exe
-
I got Windows XP Pro and all i used was the Corporate cd-key and i didn\'t need to activate it. When i TRIED to activate it (to test it), it said that i already activated it :-)
-
you are using the coperate version!
i\'ve tested the \"coperate cdkey\" with my original winxp.. it doesn\'t run!
So i had edited the winlogon.exe

In Order to use corp cdkey, you need corpfiles.
I have legit corporate.

Ok I jsut recently purchased the XP Collectors Kit from M$. But its is going to take about 6 - 8 Weeks to ship and then arrive. My friend has a copy of xp pro OEM. SO I Borrowed it from him and got ahold of a Key but it turns out the the key is a retail not OEM. Is there any way I can activate this key (IE: calling MS?) On an OEM? I had to Use his key to install windows but then went to the activation screen and changed his key to the one that I obtained and it acepted it the only problem is that the dang thing won\'y activated since it is looking for an OEM KEY. I am only wanting to use this untill my cd and key comes in about 2 months. with all the SP\'s coming out I could not beat the price of 53.10 to become legit with win XP Pro FPP and get off of the Corporate.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am jsut weary of calling M$ although I doubt they would ever find me.
well I was just wondering If i could activate my retail key via phone with M$ Eventhough I have XP OEM Installed.
I ask this because I do not know what M$ will ask em if I call them.
-
thanks for the winlogon crack, everyone.
In the Sad crack for XP It has a patched licdll.dll. I want to compare that with the normal licdll.dll. Then I can post HexEdit that make XP say \"Windows is Activated\". The Sad crack also has the winlogon crack. Hell Yeah!
I need a HexEditor that let\'s me compare the code and look for the difference. Quick replies are useful.

Hi all,
Is there a way to stop the request for activation in MS office XP ??
-
Thank you to everyone who put up the winlogon.exe crack!! It had taken 40 hours to download win xp home iso from a over a dialup connection (owe my cable modem provider $250), and when i saw the \"Activate in 30 days\" marker come up my heart sank. tried the regedit, didnt work, from what i hear that only works for the betas. i formatted the drive, did a fresh install, booted onto a win ME boot disk after completion of the installation but before first boot, overwrote the winlogon.exe files in C:windowssystem32 & C:windowssystem32dllcache, booted up.. no activation thing popped up. set the bios date 6 months down the road, still works great!! thank you!!
-
I\'ve recently bought Windows XP home edition and installed it on one of my two computers. I activated it on this first one.
I now want to install it on the other, but I\'m not giving Bill any more of my hard earned cash by buying another copy! So is there anyway I can bypass the activation on my other PC, possibly using the info from the first activation?

That WinLogon hex edit works like a freakin charm...
-
I have build 2600. I installed service pack 1. Works great. The only thing that happened was now I have the winxp For testing only in the lower left hand corner. I would like to get rid of it.
-
If you have a valid reason, well yes.
-
Either I forgot to put this in. Or this sight did not allow it. So I will form it a little different. I hope it gets posted. I used keygen to find a key code. I then changed my number. When I finished and rebooted. I was able to install SP1.
-
Whats a hexeditor and where can I get one??
-
Urtraedit is a good one. To put it simple. It lets you read and change hex files. You can see the code in a file. Like winlogon. Changing the winlogon file works. I have done it. However yoy cannot install SP1. If you use a key generator to find a key. Insert the new key. Reboot. You can know install SP1. I did so. I even set the clock ahead from one month to two years. Works great.
-
the rumor about dell versions not requiring activiations is bull[censored]...that\'s exactly why i am here...
-
where did u get it?
-
They don\'t let you post web sites. So if you use a search engine like google you can find it. I beleave it would be the first site listed.
-
Look at earlier posts on this thread. The hex editor method works fine. You don\'t have to do it on first boot it works at any time during the activation period. If you format a floppy as a system disc ( an option in XP) you can use this to boot your computer straight into DOS. You may have to alter your BIOS to make the floppy the first boot option. You can then copy delete rename etc anything you want without windows getting upset. Using this method is a relatively easy way of swapping the winlogon.exe file
-
You are all so funny... We are aware of these cracks and they will all be useless come Friday of next week. That is of course if you wish to install XP SP1. Support for USB 2.0 might be nice... what do you think?
-
i have winxp pro 2600 build and slipstreamed new sp1 to installation cd(same way like slipstreamin with w2k) and burned it........then i made clean install from cd and NO problems(i used \"valid\" corporation key when asked)
.........so i don\'t know why so muck talk about cracks
-
hi, are you using winxp pro corp with \"fixed\" product key and
installed the FINAL 1106 Sp1 and it works fine?? I dot want to
fresh-install xp, if it works I will directly upgrade it to sp1,is there any risk for that?
-
I\'m not sure what you mean about fixed corporate key.....and yes it\'s the latest sp1 available at the moment(final version)
i think that if you have installed your original winxp pro with valid corporate key,which sp1 accepts(sp1 blocks many \"well known\" corporate keys) then it might work
......i\'m not sure because not tested(i wanted to install both winxp pro and sp1 at the same time so i slipstreamed)
-
Hello someone,
To activate windows go to run and type oobe/msoobe /a
then type certificate as xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx ( your own certificate) in by phone
CLICK OK
then go to regedit in your windows folder and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsoftwaremicrosoftwindowsNTcurrent version wpaevents oobetimer
click edit binery
and type
0000 CA 82 B8 55 D4 04 B5 CF
0008 CC 5B 24 97
THEN GO TO RUN AND TYPE: oobe/msoobe /a
and it will say windows allready activated.
-
By \"fixed\" key, I meant the key generated by the famous kegenerator for corp pro XP, instaed of FCK.... Anyway people talked about a lot about it since final sp1 was out . see it at winbeta.org . It is said it works at least for now for system function , Windows Update and everything .
Sipstream is a good idea , I did it for win2k +sp3. When this one really works I will do it too.
-
can some1 tell me if i use winxp pro pirated version...FCK...can i put it on 2 cmoputers and network them? mi wondering if MS put some sort of prevention thing to stop 2 pcs with the same pid being networked. not sure if its coporate edition. just says RTM version 2002. thanks
-
is each xp cd got only 1 serial u can use? cos i tried installing xp using a different serial to FCK but it said it was invalid.
-
i have windows xp home edition on my new laptop so it is legit but it is in chinese cos the laptop was almost 50% cheaper in HK. but i need to change it to english is there an easy way to do this? i have also bought a pirate version of xp pro but it doesnt seem to update xp home as it comes up with some error so i can only install new.
-
I have XP Pro on more than one computer. build 2600. I used the keygen. I then installed SP1. I have not had any problems.
-
has anybody using the winlogon.exe trick installed successfully service pack
-
It\'s very easy to get SP1 to install on the pirated corp edition. you people just aren\'t looking hard enogh for the proper nfo. It is possible even with the final SP1 1106 build...Look harder guys....
-
the regedit in this post works well, no date problems no update problems works for Home/Pro Oem/Retail of both
regedit in your windows folder and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsoftwaremicrosoftwindowsNTcurrent version wpaevents oobetimer
click edit binery
and type
0000 CA 82 B8 55 D4 04 B5 CF
0008 CC 5B 24 97
THEN GO TO RUN AND TYPE: oobe/msoobe /a
-
where can i find SP1 for Windows XP?
-
I tryed it. The SP1 will not install. Thats why I used the KeyGen. It worked great. After I made the change. I installed SP1 without any problems
-
Just be careful and read thsi newsletter from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/basics/act...indowsxpsp1.asp (http://\"http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/basics/activation/windowsxpsp1.asp\")
Quote:
\"2) Raising the bar on pirates
- Product key inclusion in Installation ID for activation
In order to protect customers and Microsoft against product key attacks, the product key used to install Windows will be included in the Installation ID for all activations completed after SP1 has been installed. Internet activations will send the entire product key while telephone activations will send a hash value of the product key in order to limit the increase in size of the telephone Installation ID..
- Repair of activation circumventions
Service Pack 1 for Windows XP will contain fixes to cracks used by software pirates to circumvent activation. Installations of Windows XP patched by a crack will require activation after SP1 has been installed. \"
Just read this too:
http://www.newsfactor.com/perl/story/19188.html (http://\"http://www.newsfactor.com/perl/story/19188.html\")
Quote:
\"Because Windows Update also will be checking keys after October 2nd, Microsoft can deny access to updates even if SP1 has been successfully installed on a system whose key is subsequently found to be hacked. \"

This crack does not work completely: It works for a short period of time, but then \"resets\" itself and the original \"Days left for Activation\" comes back.
Any ideas how to prevent this \"reset\"?
-
is there a way to bypass activation after sp1 install? i downloaded the sp1 from Microsoft. I am running WinXP Pro OEM i purchased but i don\'t wanna activate. thanks!
-
I would also like to know this.
-
anybody know if they only banned corporate keys?
what If I install WinXP corporate with an OEM key?
Do they also change algorythm for those too?
-
winlogon crack worked fine for me!!!
thanks!!!
-
I wanted a XP Professional without Corporate because then I can use keygen and activate. I used a legit key in the first place, because I have a true Original XP Professional Corporate. I can\'t download XP SP1 Final because I have 56k modem
-
be nice if you would find a dictionary so you could straighten this sh*t up before you post. Maybe then someone could figure out what in the h*ll you are talking about. Just a suggestion;-}
-
is there a crack for the winlogon.exe in sp1?
i guess that\'s the 64k question...
-
If you need to install sp1 on windows xp home/professional edition and if you have the winlogon crack replace it with its original version (if the 30 dayz are up, boot into safe mode.) Install Windows XP Sp1. Open notepad and paste this into it...
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWPAEvents]
\"OOBETimer\"=hex:ca,82,b8,55,d4,04,b5,cf,cc,5b,24,97
and save it as a .reg file somewhere simple like C:winactivation.reg
(Save a copy of your original key just incase it goes wrong)
Double click the reg file and enter it into the registry. To see it it went right type oobe/msoobe /a into the run box and it should say \"windows has been activated\". Now open notepad again and add this.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun]
\"WPA\"=\"regedit.exe /s c:winactivation.reg\"
(c:winactivation.reg being where you saved the the reg file (don\'t forget if ure changing the directory use double slashes // instead of 1 / eg C: = C:)
save the file as run.reg and open it.
Use this website if u have Corp edition and u want to make a new winxp cd with built in sp1 (u can ignore it)
Sp1 corp site (http://\"http://www.trwhotfilez.kit.net/xpsp1/xpsp1.html#Bootable\")

The 2 reg files work like a champ, thanks. I have a legit copy, but don\'t like these activiation requirements put onto us by MS.
-
i was using the home edition version with hacked winlogon. but after i install the sp1. it;s replace the winlogon.
how to hack the winlogon again to make it activated ?
-
These instructions are kind of confusing to a newbie, can someone with experiance elaborate on each step of these instructions.
-
How do these .reg files work?
Does this set Activation=Done each time you start Windows?
-
whose is sad team?
-
Hi again!
If you want it simple i am uploading files to my website (temporarily)
Activation Reg File (http://\"http://a2kweb.myby.co.uk/wpa/winactivation.reg\")
Reg file that runs Winactivation silently at startup (http://\"http://a2kweb.myby.co.uk/wpa/run.reg\")
Instruction: Save winactivation.reg to the root of the drive you installed WinXp and run.reg to anywhere. Double-click run.reg and click Yes to the dialog box that comes up. If you want to activate it straight away double-click winactivation.reg as well and click yes to the dialouge box. (you can activate it before or after installation of win sp1, better to do it before though) if you have a winlogon crack ure gonna have to replace it (unless it installs straight over it, i had to replace my winlogon with original cause it wouldnt install beta sp1) if you need the original download it (make sure you scan all my files before using them) if you have a Q306676 winlogon hack just re-install the patch downloadable from Here (http://\"http://a2kweb.myby.co.uk/wpa/winlogon.zip\")
Install Sp1. Thats the simplified version. If there are broken links tell me and ill try to sort it out.
-
This works very well for home edition. I could not get it to paste into the registry but was able to type in the changes and they worked well. Windows reactivated after sp-1 download.
-
I tried this one but after I change the date to 2003 I had to activate again......
Now what?
-
i installed SP1 on win XP Pro and applied the REG ..its worked.
but what is the different if RUN winactivation.reg only or run both winactivation.reg & run.reg?
seems ok to me when run winactivation.reg only
-
Good Lord! I read through every post here and I can\'t believe how many of you are afraid of Microsoft coming after you! Puuullleeeeeeeezzzzze! They will NEVER have authority to actually invade someone\'s house or business to check to see if you have pirated software. Read the papers folks, there isn\'t ONE case of microsoft actually getting money from or jailing a pirate (excepting corporations of course).
I purchased and have purchased microsft products for years and absolutely HATE the fact that they require this bs registraction activation stuff. I even consider a lawsuit for not posting that activation stuff clearly on the front cover of their Product Package. Maybe a few of these lawsuits will help them smarten up and not be moronic.
I could go on about Microsoft\'s idiocy and big brother attitude but will close for now.
MorganTP, Esquire
P.S. Buy a legit single copy and crack any way you can to use it to your satisfaction. If you are sued, I will gladly be your attorney at no fee. They will lose, guarateed.

Need a real way to bypass xp activation.
the metod post here to bypass SP1 activation doesn´t work.
they only hide message, and tell the xp is already activate, but after 30days they lock xp.

Help me please. I can\'t found HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
I don\'t have this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
\"Activation Required\" - I don\'t have this. If you know where I can find this tell me!!!
-
Hi!
You have got broken links to the reg files.
Can you send me them by email? [email protected]
-
Can this be use even after SP1 has been activated?
-
The reg files actually don\'t work after the 30 day limit or if you change your clock. I\'m sure someone will find another way.
-
Hurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
u can now install SP1 on ur windows XP Home Edition without fearing of those 30 timebomp here r the steps:
first open notebad K copy and paste this :
cd %systemroot%system32config
for /f \"usebackq delims= tokens=5\" %i in (`reg query \"HKLMsecurityPolicySecrets\" 2^>nul ^|find \"L$\"`) do (
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsecurityPolicySecrets%i /f
)
for /f \"usebackq delims= tokens=5\" %i in (`reg query \"HKLMsecurityPolicySecrets\" 2^>nul ^|find \"G$\"`) do (
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsecurityPolicySecrets%i /f
)
for /f \"usebackq delims= tokens=5\" %i in (`reg query \"HKLMsecurityPolicySecrets\" 2^>nul ^|find \"TIMEBOMB\"`) do (
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsecurityPolicySecrets%i /f
)
for /f \"usebackq delims= tokens=5\" %i in (`reg query \"HKLMsecurityPolicySecrets\" 2^>nul ^|find \"HYDRAKEY\"`) do (
reg delete HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsecurityPolicySecrets%i /f
)
reg delete \"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWPAEvents\" /f
reg delete \"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsoftwareMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersion\" /v LicenseInfo /f
del /f system.14D system.old 1>nul 2>&1
regback system.14D machine system
reg load hkusystem system.14D
for /f \"usebackq delims= tokens=5 skip=1\" %i in (`regdmp hkey_local_machinesystemcurrentcontrolset`) do (
reg delete \"HKEY_USERSSYSTEM%iControlSession ManagerWPA\" /f
)
reg unload hkusystem
copy /y system.14D system.BAK
regrest system.14D system.old machine system
save the file as \"secreset.cmd\" , and put it in %systemroot%windowssystem32config
2- open notebad again , copy paste this :
cd %systemroot%system32config
cmd.exe < secreset.cmd 1> secreset.log 2>&1
save the file as \"secreset.bat , and put it in %systemroot%:Documents and SettingsAll UsersStart MenuProgramsStartup
3- open notebad , copy paste this :
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionRRWPA]
\"RemoveReminder\"=dword:00000001
save it as \"removereminder.reg\" then run it.
now every time u boot ur system up the activation timer is reset so windows will work for ever with u , but don\'t set ur BIOS date up for more than 29 days or u\'ll have to reinstall ur windows.......

I tried using this on a fresh install and it didn\'t work.
-
I heard of a dowloadable program that simply reversed windows xp activation clock to its beginning every time you booted your machine. Has anyone else ever heard of this. I cannot seem to fine it anywhere now. Also, about three months ago I loaded a pirated copy of xp from a friend, (who had bought it legally). To activate it I phoned Microsoft and acted really dumb saying I had upgraded my mother board, and they gave me a new activation code. As carmah has it though, something happened to my new hardrive and i ended up having to format it. So now I am screwed because I don\'t want to try my luck with Microsoft again - also I am afriad of getting my friend in trouble. When I tried searching for this program that reset the clock - which was everywhere 3 months ago - it was nowhere to be found. Has microsoft done something?
-
There is a small program that will enable you to load sp1 without any problems just look on imesh .It will change the pid
number BRILL.
-
is that all that is needed?
i got XP home from my aunt, and dont wanna authorize it.
ive been using it for a long time, 7days left till it quits on me
I NEED HELP!!! i dont really know how to edit those things
AIM me at rebeltorumble ASAP!
-
I have just installed SP1 on winxp pro legal but cracked activation as I need to upgrade to P4 Motherboard soon and dont need the hassle of activation. After reboot I got the 30 day crap so I tried the info below found on these threads and it works great, so thanks to all who took the time to post good info.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsoftwaremicrosoftwindowsNTcurrent version wpaevents oobetimer
click edit binery
and type
0000 CA 82 B8 55 D4 04 B5 CF
0008 CC 5B 24 97
THEN GO TO RUN AND TYPE: oobe/msoobe /a
It will now say - Windows is already Activated click ok exit
I checked the taskbar and the activation icon was still visible but after a right clicked it disapeared, great it really works so try it.
-
Has anyone tried copying the file Wpa.dbl in Windows/System32 before installing SP-1 and then recopying the file into windows/System32 after upgrading? PC magazine says this stops having to reactivate.
-
it works . but i change the date it ask me to activate

\"Don\'t be surprised when your ISP terminates your account. Our reach is longer than you can image. October 2nd is just the beginning!
MS Bob\"
As time pass\'s you will see, no company, that is IT based, that can fight the wolf forever, and i don\'t mean piracy either. You don\'t stand a chance...neither do we.
The IT world has been looked as something to be \"critical\". Have you looked around lately. There\'s alternative\'s to everything in IT today. Way too many developer\'s and creative writer\'s out there. \"Critical\" is becoming more of a synonym for convience.
Talk about your reach...when you have the power of Exon or GM then you can talk about your reach. Your reach is nothing to be compared to such as those\'s. Nor are our\'s.
Remember this Bob, and remember this well, for almost everybody forget\'s the reality of IT.
If you have no monitor and no speaker\'s. What is software Bob? Well it\'s something you cant...
1. Touch
2. Taste
3. Smell
4. See
5. Hear
How many sense\'s do we as humans have Bob??
Hmm...strange isnt it. How can something so beautiful, so testing, so exhilerating, escape the sense\'s of a human being without the 2 simple device\'s. Well in a distant way consumer\'s are realizing this. Taking less time to upgrade, less time to logon when not at work, and putting more time into other things than IT. It\'s starting to show right now in society and it has been showing even longer on wall street.
Your living in fantasy land when you think your giong to change something. If you want to aim at consumer\'s that\'s fine, but remember, people don\'t care so much about IT as they did just a few years ago. After alot crashed many lost hope in it for making money, and only found IT to be just another electronic leash with having to check emails constantly, having to attend net meetings, having to pay isp bills, etc...
In today\'s world, someone who feels cut off or just more complexed with what they have to due with a computer at work and then again at there own home is just not going to do it by cutting themselve\'s off from the computer or software. Then where does that leave the IT business as whole Bob??.
Believe me they will drop any software if shown a easier way to do things. This means by means of alternate OS\'s, not upgrading OS\'s, pirated software, or ANYTHING it take\'s just to ease the burden\'s they deal with at work by making their home computer less complicated and less time consuming.
Don\'t want to believe it Bob?? I know how you feel, and it\'s scaring us, and will you too if it doesnt already. That is just people today, you know. It\'s like anything else new to the majority of people, \"Wow, Cool George !!! \", then a year later \"George just turn it off !!! \"
It\'s a shame MS wont realize this aswell as so many IT companies. Who cares right?? Why bother??? Everytime you hear something about IT now days it revolve\'s around something negative right???. Wether it be some group getting arrested for piracy, how the movie and record industry are loosing money, how IT stock price\'s are falling and will not stablize, how someone is tired of checking emails. The list gone\'s on and on today Bob. This isn\'t the internet revolution of several years ago anymore Bob :-(...sad but true.
Basically, what should be happening in IT is not. So many people focusing on the negative and helping \"Secure\" everything, but what was the last time you overheard someone not at work, someone you didnt know, at a bar or wherever, say something really interesting about IT??? I can bet hardly ever in these times. Now just a few years ago you heard it all the time, but IT is just becoming \"Old Hat\". We should be focusing on new idea\'s, new hope, new things to make people come back to the desktop at there own will and not at the will of work or burnden.
You, Bob, @MS, you wont get this, none of you will...not until it\'s too late. Remember as soon as a dog start\'s barking, you look to see where the dog is, then you look to make sure you can get out if it comes out you, and then you make note of who the dog belongs to or where atleast it live\'s.
This is what is happening with your whole company right now with consumers Bob. Luckily it\'s on a level where there not directly picking this up. But oh how they will Bob...they will no matter what. You will be left in a entire world turning to something other than MS for all there IT needs, and when they do guess what, they will find it cheaper, more direct without alot hiddem implemations, just as good as before. Oh and Bob...it will be CHEAPER!!! Think the consumers won\'t like that Bob?? Think their turning to a alternate because they actually care about the company who makes there software??? No Bob, No. The will turn for it\'s just more convienant and leaves them more time in there physical lifestyle that they have come back to after being burnt out in cyberland in today\'s world.
Just to make sure I get to tell you this incase I can\'t find you in 5 years...
Goodbye Bob...Goodbye.
-
Finally......Someone with his/her head where it should be ......
In the real world
......all I have to say....... I get ya but like u said ....for most it will be all too late !

I tried going to Run and typing in : oobe/msoobe /a and all I got was \"file not found\". What did I do wrong?

Try using the full location i.e type into the RUN command
c:windowssystem32oobemsoobe /a
note that there is a difference between back slashes and forward slashes
-
it works also for me...
after i installed SP1 on my XP home
i used this one and said windows is already activated!...
-
the crack used below method will be activated after 30 days. I already tried it. Its will work when u just installed XP pro/home .
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWPAEvents]
\"OOBETimer\"=hex:ca,82,b8,55,d4,04,b5,cf,cc,5b,24,97
and save it as a .reg file somewhere simple like C:winactivation.reg
(Save a copy of your original key just incase it goes wrong)
Double click the reg file and enter it into the registry. To see it it went right type oobe/msoobe /a into the run box and it should say \"windows has been activated\". Now open notepad again and add this.
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionRun]
\"WPA\"=\"regedit.exe /s c:winactivation.reg\"
-
Change your system date to 1 year ahead, then change it back. Tell me if it still works...

each copy has a different number so if you\'ve lost it then tough luck
-
Dude if you or whoever wrote this little gemcould just write that little bit of code that MS send when an activation is done legally, you know the icon above your programs in the start menu disappears and all that. This other crack you wrote which actually does work. It keeps the activation pending in the system information at 30 days forever so your system is always pending activation. I don\'t know if this will have an effect in the future but it does workaround the problem
-
don\'t get me wrong i like your crack but isn\'t there a less sloppy way to do it without the secreset file in startup etc. There must be a way to just eliminate activation from the system.
-
I ended up getting over the OEM retail version. I just did an integrated install on the corp cd on hd and re burnt it as winxpsp1 corp and whallah!, Win XP SP1 with no activation
-
Can you describe the process in detail, did you change your OEM to a Corp version?
How did you burn it down and why does that eliminate the activation...
I was very happy with the first HEX method, and is running a OEM on 7 or 8 machines (installed it on a couple of friends machines to) but i have had to phone around telling people not to install SP1 untill i have a waterproof solution - Like the HEX method... Couldn\'t someone please post a very detailed manual of a fully tested way that will keep working. I already tried everything here but nothing worked
ThanX ;-)
-
You could try this...however i wont run XP and you shouldnt either...it\'s a trap and ploy...once you run it they do own your computer at the very least...if not you. Aslong as you FULLY understand that your ok...alot of people just dont think that is the truth...but it sadly is..know your right\'s and stay away.
but if your part of the mindless herd you can try right here... (http://\"http://shop.microsoft.com/Referral/Productinfo.asp?siteID=10798\")
-
Funny...
-
Thanks mate. This activation crack works a treat. Only problem I had was with the final step. If, when you drag the winlogon.exe onto your desktop and rename it winlogon2, you must remember to copy the edited version into the system32 folder or your PC will go into a continuous loop. Once again, Thank-you.

Here is the link

-
So wat is the best way to get the activation BS for xp home edition now? the hex editing?
-
This link only tells you how to slipstream SP1 onto the istallation CD...
It doesn\'t help with the Activation problem...
I\'m running XP Pro OEM that has been activated on my dads computer (since he\'s the one who bought it) but i\'ve been running it for a year on my PC too with the Logon HEX...
So i can easily install SP1 but i wants me to reactivate afterwards...
The problem is not the installation it\'s the activation...
\'Cause i\'m using the original key witch is unknown to MS ( or not a suspicius key anyway) It\'s the only key i\'ve ever had that works on this OEM.
The key generator progs cannot generate oem keys... not even out of 200 will any of them work...
and the Corp Keys doesn\'t work with the OEM... at least not mine, It\'s a Danish Language version so it\'s propably a differen key...
If anyone has a solution that works on a oem or knows how to change an oem into a corp version or similar problem please write i\'ve tried every single solution on this page, but since changing my key isn\'t the problem i\'ve found nothing...
Thanks
-
Hey guyz... I wanted to know how em I gonna know if My xp is evaluation copy or another kind of copy of XP during my first installation. I don\'t see ACTIVATE WINDOWS when I press on the start button just link one website says... but I have here the upgraded copy located in the cd. I also want to know what are the differences between those copies...
Thanks guyz

You can download a program called delpart.exe. Run it from DOS.

Hi, I have a problem, at first I try to activate windows XP Pro (2600) using one tool, but it\'s lock my windows (You know, it login and you can only activate, no more) so I reinstall and try again and use Fireball metod, but I don\'t find that string in all file, so I undestend that people say \"I dosn\'t work!\" I think they can\'t find this string, I am to!
/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> If posible send me pls modifed winlogon.exe or I ask Fireball - plz explain why in winlogon I can see 036660 FF 35 C0 A7 00 01 68 E4 19 00 01 68 38 EB 06 01? not 8B D1 57 33 C0...? I use hview and hex and don\'t undestand howto remove activation, And how to look how many days is left for locking? I don\'t see activation shotkut and system don\'t show me how many days, but I hear what is some *place* inside windows (not register) where is string, if winxp activated then this string was gone.
P.S. Sorry of my english, I am from Lithuania
-
HA! I Remove activation question
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />))) I am user! I try to do like say Fireball (I use hview - the best DOS HEX editor IMHO under DN (the best DOS SHELL! IMHO)

/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> but then I expand new on from surce cd and change 39660h row like Fireball sayd - it\'s work!!!

\"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWPAEvents]

-
I have found this adice once and used it for Windows XP Home just two days before activation expired. Not a new install but and upgrade from windows ME. Activation Disappeared and have had no problems since.
-
I\'ve home edition with SP1 and i tried to modify the winlogon.exe file, but there\'s no way to find the famous string 8B D1 57 33.... i suppose the sp modified this file.
Any idea?
-
Yes, SP1 nullifies the winlogon hack.
No hack available for SP1, yet.
-
Does anyone know anything about a hack for Office Activation?
-
Hello...
I\'ll ready do this crack and they work...but when i restart the computer the regestry back again...and the reminder come out again...what can i do???
-
Just a note: I found no \"Activation Required\" key in all the registry of a corporate installation. But then, corporate is exempt from activation...
Maybe its in retail?
-
Yeh, but after you reboot it comes back. WHat good is that?
-
u r not forced to do the registration thing in fact what u have to do is entering the activation code and it\'s on the back of the cd cover just write it down and u will find that the windows don\'t ask u again about the activation thing
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' /> but u must write an authorized cd key to do this operation right ...
-
Win XP Pro Retail ....VERSION 5.1.... works quite well initially after OOBETIMER is set to new, BUT after reboot, it somehow sets itself back to normal where it ask for reactivation. Is there a more dependable method of activation other than the ones shown above for the \"xp pro retail version 5.1\" PLEASE HELP.

hi @ all, i\'ve read all the answers (yes i did it...!) and i\'ve this 2 questions for you:
i would like to try it with the corporate version, because i dont need to activate it, right?
if i install a corporate xp pro version with a corporate key from a keygen, the sp1 should work without trouble, right? but works the online update also then?
and another question:
a friend has a original xp pro retail version that is activated by the internet activation method. if i install xp from his original xp pro cd and use his legal key, but bypass the activation with a working method that was posted here and install the sp1, works the online update but for my friend get trouble with his own online update? can we update independent without trouble? Because i use his serial and i dont know, what the new version 4 online update process by m$ is looking for.
-
If you install SP1 on a Winlogon Cracked version you have to reactivate... I thought you read everything ;-) Your friend won\'t get in trouble... I\'m running a legit copy, that i bought, on 8 PC\'s but i\'ve only got SP1 on the first original installation...
-
I installed Windows XP home on my laptop a few weeks ago using the winlogon hexedit crack. It worked very well. Unfortunately, I wasn\'t aware that SP1 invalidated the crack and I ran the windows updater. Now of course windows wants me to register with MS and activate my software. Does anyone know a work-around for SP1? I can always reinstall XP, but would rather not.
-
wtf are you people scared of , microsoft cant come after you for using a pirate version of office/xp , they can generate a list of *known* pirate keys and all new service packs wouldnt install/etc , but I seriously doubt the FBI is going to show up on your doorstep and demand to see your computers for 1 pirate license , the only cases ive ever heard relating to piracy are very large rings of people who MAKE A PROFIT off selling the cds/etc , for one license , you think they are going to take the time/engery/money to find you , take your computers into posession and then prosecute you ? I understand some peoples reaction to be paranoid , but unless you are cutting into someones cashflow/profits you dont have to worry about \'getting caught\' , im not saying its right .. just that its very unlikey that they will take the effort to do anything to you.
anyways , cheers .. and screw MSFT for trying to make people activate their software , looking for a better solution ?
check out linux + gnu (heh , stallman ur a chump but I\'ll give you credit anyways , if you dont get this .. jus forget bout it )

Im pretty sure these people are microsoft employees , this fourm needs to publish the person\'s IP address (partial , just the general host/network its coming from) along with any post , if this method has been proven to work , its not the methods fault you are a complete idiot and cant hex a single binary file .... this method has been verified and works , if it doesnt .. you are most likely using a stupid p2p sharing verison , or a ripped version .. get somebody you know who has an xp cd to burn you a copy and try again
-
thats prob why it isnt working you tool , it has to be 2600
-
quick question , where did you copy the cracked version of the winlogin.exe , which EXACT directory locations ... there are 2 you know ?
-
c:windowssystem32
c:windowssystem32dllcache

if your version of xp isnt activated...does that mean that it could cause programs on your computer to have errors..and shut down?

well, hello this is my first post to this forum, i havent read all the messages, and i probably never will, maybe one day, but, i have spent a lot of time searching of a way to crack that darn thing, this is what i propose, i found that in c:windowssystem32oobe you can find all the files that verify the activation confirm code that some dude gives you over the phone they are plain html, java, vbs code, and some dlls the marvelous thing here is that i found the precise code that does this thing, when you have the code, you enter it and it verifies it, pretty normal, there has to be a file anywhere in your pc that has a generator of codes so those files will check on them at the time the activation confirm code is checked, i know its kind of stupid just to tell you this, but im working on it, and i tell you this so you all might be encouraged to look that, i believe you realy dont need a crack file, and if only changing a value in registry would make the trick it wouldnt be a secure process for msft, the point is, that file has to be there and its not going to be called wpa.* whaterever that * means, no, its written somewhere else, im going to find it, as my name is tarutaros, just give sometime, plus anyone up to the challenge of looking for that you can doit if you know about hexeditors, javascript html asp vbs, because its all about that, its not magic its something very simple just happens to be very hard to find, so long everybody, keep on looking, i dont know if someone already posted this info, if that is so, excuse for thinking the same thing that you did so bye
-
Just wanted to say thanks to who ever created this crack:
Post Extras:
The only one that I tried that actually worked. The trick to finding the dllcache file is to go to run and type in the path: c:windowssystem32 and c:windowssystem32dllcache Use the ultra edit trial and this crack is a breeze.
-
I don\'t see activation required under WinLog
-
You know, that \"RemoveReminder\" reg setting works very well if you don\'t want the annoying balloon tip reminders everytime you boot up saying you have x days to activate, but I seriously doubt there is some hidden reg settings to disable activation.
/sad.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':(\' /> Here\'s to hoping though.
-
You can ghost Windows XP after Activation I do it to my PC
-
FYI
If you have a corporate Key...follow these instructions to make it official. This was put on a website for only a day and MS made them take it down.
Regedit
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionwpaevents
double click OOBETimer
Remove CA from the value
Click ok, exit
Start - Run
%systemroot%system32oobemsoobe.exe /a
Click on the second option, then Activate
Run the proggie again, and it says its activated. Very simple.
If you don\'t have a corporate key, well, sorry.
Good luck

I have install de XP home edition.... But I can´t enter to copy the wpa.mdb .. what i sould do ??? HELP!

Will this work with Windows XP Home (OEM) ?

-
dear bwana, i tried what you said on the home edition of win xp. The first one is fine. But i am not able to find the second one, that is the activation key reqd. in winlogon. There is no such key there. Please help me as iam stuck. i also tried safe mode and administrator log in
Thanks
-
I tried your method on my winXP 2002 version(build 2600) with sp1(Latest version ) installed. It worked very well till I changed the system date 2 yrs ahead to check and then I got locked outside the login screen.I had to reinstall everything.Can you or anyone suggest a better method?
-
These techniques just do not work!
1. You can\'t manipulate winlogon.exe from Safe Mode because the file is IN USE. It cannot be renamed or deleted. You have to use Recovery Mode (by booting from the installation CD).
2. The modified winlogon.exe file as posted does not work (XP home, build 2600). If you replace the file from Recovery Mode and try to boot up you get the error \"User Interface Failure - msgina.dll failed to load\"
When are you guys gonna get serious and post a crack that works?

Is it possible to change something in the norwegian version of WinXP, so it will accept product keys from the english version??
Thank you for all answers!
-
does this work with Academic XP Pro upgrade 2002 (with SP1)?
Thanks.
-
Unless you are using a copy of Xp with SP1 installed, the Winlogon Hack DOES work (For Home/Pro OEM)
Follow the posts with reference to Ultra-Edit32 editing proggie.
Modify and replace the winlogon.exe file as stated in previous posts , follow it word for word. Replace the x2 Winlogon .exe\'s as stated.
There are lots of people responding to posts on this forum who have used this WORKING hack and have been running it for well over a year with no problems.
BTW. Dissing the forum and its posters hurts ur chances of eva getting help here and some of the most helpful and talented people frequent this forum.
SO....You just shot yourself in the foot esentially.
Peace Out... And Respect to all Tech Guide Members.
-
For all people with the Winlogon.exe hack who are concerned with installing SP1.
Check this link--> http://grc.com/xpdite/xpdite.htm (http://\"http://grc.com/xpdite/xpdite.htm\") (very scary !!)
Recommended that all people without SP1 installed to download this small file which deactivates a very serious security flaw in all non sp1 releases of XP.
I have attached this file directly to this site.
Peace Out....
-
I have XP Pro with SP1. Are there instructions for that?
-
No, You can\'t take the setupp.ini file, nor can you use the ghost image either.
If you take a ghost image and restore it afterwards, the hardware will not be recognized, forcing you to reinstall it, and making you reactivate it anyway...it\'s one of those really really long cycles, until you realize that you\'ve been doing something meaningless all along...
-
I think that\'s a good idea, but i don\'t think it would work that easy, I wouldn\'t know, because I\'m using the corporate edition
-
Previous anonymus guy who said this:
not so previous anonymous guy:

change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
Said key does not exist. any ideas what to do?
thnx
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes, I had this problem too... I was trying a number of things, and one of the things I tried was just changing the RegDone to 1.
Then a few days later when I rebooted, I went to \"Activate Windows\" and it said \"WINDOWS ACTIVATED\"
/biggrin.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':D\' />
wadda ja mean \"few days later\" did your computer run for a few days before rebooting it? or did you crack it without feeling obligated to try it out?
\"I ended up getting over the OEM retail version. I just did an integrated install on the corp cd on hd and re burnt it as winxpsp1 corp and whallah!, Win XP SP1 with no activation\"
gratefull for any help
-
First you can ghost xp. the drive that your ghosting from needs to be a slave. so if you want it to be an image you need a second harddrive set as a master. then do a normal ghost. works perfect.
-
I have the easiest way which took me 5min, ok you have to try this way.
(This works on XP Home Edition 2600 don?t know about the pro edition can be done anytime within the 30 day trial)
First off go to www.ultraedit.com and download a free copy of ultraedit32
Then make a copy of your winlogon.exe (copy&paste it to your desktop you can find the winlogon.exe Here-- right click your start button click on explore And find your WINDOWS folder click on this and have a look around for a folder called system32 open this and in there somewhere you?ll find the winlogon.exe
Open the winlogon.exe with UltraEdit
Once open scroll down to position -
00039660h: EB E9 8B D1 57 33 C0 89 02 89 42 08 89 42 10 89
And change these numbers to the ones below
00039660h: EB E9 C7 06 01 00 00 00 83 EE 04 C3 89 42 10 89
Now your winlogon.exe has been altered save it to a floppy (Delete the winlogon.exe on your Desktop)
Now! You need to boot in to safe mode and find the winlogon files,
click your start button and click the Run? icon
Copy&paste this address( C:WindowsSystem32Dllcache ) into the Run program
And click OK this will open the dllcache folder find the winlogon.exe and Delete it
Now Copy&Paste your altered winlogon.exe in its place.
Nearly finished
Copy&Paste this Address: ( C:windowsSystem32 ) into the Run?.
Program and click OK this will open the System32 Folder and find the Winlogon.exe
drag it to your Desktop and rename Winlogon2.exe and place the winlogon.exe
you Altered in its place.
Now reboot your System!
To find out if it has worked click your Activation button and you will see your copy of Windows XP is Activated
May be a good idea to download a copy of XP Antispy after all this Search in google.com \"XP Antispy\" for this.
I have had Windows XP Home Edition for almost a month now, and I\'m in about the same situation. But I have only 7 days left to activate it! Will any of these methods work now that I only have a week left?
-
How about the hex edit trick on SP1 where winlogon.exe is 516608 bytes as opposed to the first 430080. The same HEX string is no longer in exsitance so what can we do to avoid giving Bill a heads up on what we have.
-
Once open scroll down to position -
00039660h: EB E9 8B D1 57 33 C0 89 02 89 42 08 89 42 10 89
And change these numbers to the ones below
00039660h: EB E9 C7 06 01 00 00 00 83 EE 04 C3 89 42 10 89
This obviously works fine if your using Win XP Home but what if your using Win XP Pro ? These numbers are no where to be found.
-
39662h Sometimes.
Same hex edit tho\'
-
i don\'t have any of those numbers in my win xp home sp1 , and i need to get by the 30 day activation. help pls :X
-
Format your HD and reinstall XP again. Good for another 30 days anyway.
-
here is what your looking for...
On the first boot after install is complete, boot into SAFE MODE
(thats the F8 key) and open regedit.exe
Locate this following key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersion
change the \"RegDone\" key value fron 0 to 1
Then find this key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
change \"Activation Required\" key value from 1 to 0
-
i found and changed the first key, but the second key was not there. does that mean it works, or is there more i have to do?
-
RE:hell you just want something for nothing buy the dam thing and actiate it
This is a functional thread 4 people who want to try to defeat activation. You sir should go back to the Kids/Disney website and keep your S.A comments to yourself.
why did you even waste your time posting. Lame !
-
For people wanting to bypass activation for their pirated copy, I feel the same way. You want to use it, then buy it. You don\'t want to buy it, then use another OS. There are free alternatives.
If you did pay for it though, and there is a way around activation that doesn\'t involve downloading cracks or what-not, then that info may be useful and is why this thread is kept open.
-
i cannot find the last one.
can you please explain
-
My activation ran out and it wont let me on xp. I have boot magic with windows 98 on another partition and I can see all the files in XP, is there a way to get it to boot or is it a re install?
THANKS for the help
Read the whole thread. Tried the hex fix on the swedish version: xp 2002, professional (doesn\'t state any build). Now, I\'m not 100% that this contains sp1, so I\'d like to know from some1 how to easily check this.
The cd i used was a recovery-cd from Dell, but can guarantee that that whitout the fix windows prompted me to activate, so THIS dell version at least wasn\'t \"prepared\" for non-activation.
After replacing with the modified winlogon.exe from the recovery console (boot from cd and press \"R\") it started fine. I changed dates and so forth. rebooted and checked \"msoobe.exe /a\" which told me it was allready activated.
So, fueld by my success I went on to make a fixed \"cd\" using: winiso and modifyPE.exe (checksum app). And whilst it installed fine I still had to activate at the end of the installation. The funny thing is that I only had to overwrite the two winlogons with the same file I had on my fixed CD ... and it was again activated. Wierd stuff.
Oh, and I should say that the aforementioned 10-byte hex string was NOT to be found at 39660h, but rather at 395e1h. So if anyone can tell me how to find out what sp version is on the O/S I could thereby confirm that the hex-fix also works on integrated SP1 versions of XP. Wouldn\'t that be nice
/smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />
I would be much surprised if \"version 2002\" didn\'t mean SP1
cheers
I\'ve installed the Finnish version of build 2600 (SP1 included). I\'ve tried the hex edit thing but on line 0003660 the numbers are totally different (the same as in the post above). I\'ve also tried the reg edit thingy but there\'s no Activation requiered line there. and also the other regedit (with the changed binery thing) doesn\'t work for me.
FDV here, too lazy to log in...
Anonymous asks \"Do you think it would be possible to edit the winlogon.ex_ on the CD, and make a new CD, with the modified version, then install from it?\"
Here is the workings behind editing a file, making a new CD-RW, and installing from it.
http://home.earthlink.net/~vorck/ (http://\"http://home.earthlink.net/~vorck/\")
That said, based on my experiences trying to de-active Windows File Protection in Win2k at installation, I suspect this won\'t work.
(Sure the site\'s about removing IE but it\'s IMHO a good source for info on editing files and then slipstreaming them)
-
I had this same problem with the unmountable boot drive issue, I had to reset my BIOS to Fail-Safe settings and it installed fine after that. I am not sure which BIOS setting screws up the HD but you can go back in and make one change at a time to see which it could be. Hope this helps
I dont understand how to see whether my version of Xp is corp or oem or retail?
I tryed: Right click my computer icon
properties.
<- But what should there stand, if is a corp version ??
Hi,
The best solution seems to be windows xp corporate edition which doesn\'t require activation.But, if I install SP1 on corp edition will I have to activate it?????
THANKS
-
hmm.. In an attempt to end this long overdrawn thread.... some answers for you folks.. The registry entry that someone (apparently jokingly) keeps reposting is useless in regards to activation.. The hexedit job mentioned worked long ago on no sp1 copies of home and even pro. In sp1 there is no such string of hex and will not work anymore.. I will only say one more thing.. go to google.com an search for \"Windows XP SP1 Reset\".... Now please people... drop this thread.. And dont respong asking what you should find on google.. I will not direct anyone any further
-
I can\'t find the \"activation required\" key you are talking about. Is that for the pro or home version?
-
Finally, A useful post among all the blather here!
-
Okay, I right clicked on MY COMPUTER and it says MICROSOFT XP Professional
So im assuming i have the PRO edition.
Now my question, i\'ve had the product, pirated of course, for a couple of days now.
i have never seen anything prompt that says \"YOU MUST ACTIVATE THIS PRODUCT\"
so does that mean that my product does not need activation?
or how can i find out if my product has been activated (which i doubt cuz i never did) or if my product needs activation?
CUZ i read somewhere that it gives you 50 boots or 30 days to activate, or some nonsense like that.
btw, i have no internet connection on the computer running XP, do i still need to activate it?
-
why is my hard drive going crazy when xp is running
-
Ok, nevermind, I answered my own question.
I went to the RUN command and typed in somehting like \"oomeb /oom /a\" or something in that order and it gave me the activation prompt and it said that windows was already activated.
So I\'m assuming that I have the CORP. edition, since I never activated it.
My new question is, since my XP is activated now, can I install my cable modem on it, or should i leave it internet-less ---?
and should i upgrade to SP1?
and if i do upgrade, will my activation need to be redone?
-
If I set my system clock way ahead, say 30 years, then install XP will it think that my grace period ends 50 days or whatever from that date? Then I could set my system clock back to the right time and date and not have to worry about my grace period expiring for 30 years! Has anyone tried anything like this?
-
im pretty much in the same boat. i have a legit version running but the 30 day grace period has expired and i dont have a key. any way around activation?
-
Microsoft has gotten smarter with Grace Periods, smaller software programs will work like that but microsoft has a count down or something rather then comparing to dates....
-
THANKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS BWANA!!
I`ll be your slave for ever
/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
-
yes you can use the product ID number to activate windows xp home ed and pro up to 3 times and on 3 different computers if you wish, believe me I\'ve done it.
-
the source which u r trying to say it doesnt work at all????
-
ok and what if your in my boat where u spend 150 bucks on the oem pro verson and your system crashed 3 times and have to install from scratch wtf can i do??
-
Yeah well.. that license can kiss my ass.... I refuse to pay 400.00 to run the sucky OS on 4 machines!
-
thanks a lot. this is by far the simplest way to get around activation. so easy to do. To activate windows go to run and type oobe/msoobe /a
then type certificate as xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx ( your own certificate) in by phone
CLICK OK
then go to regedit in your windows folder and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINEsoftwaremicrosoftwindowsNTcurrent version wpaevents oobetimer
click edit binery
and type
0000 CA 82 B8 55 D4 04 B5 CF
0008 CC 5B 24 97
THEN GO TO RUN AND TYPE: oobe/msoobe /a
and it will say windows allready activated
-
click edit binery
and type
0000 CA 82 B8 55 D4 04 B5 CF
0008 CC 5B 24 97
I think no one understand that this method cannot work!
This only see the window surface actived.
If you do this and set the computer 30 days later.
Your window also not work.
-
Yeah, uh... I ran across this forum searching for a bypass because even though I would LIKE to reactivate stupid @#$!ing XP, the phone numbers that the stupid effing wizard brought up are FAKE. I can\'t ACCESS ANYTHING! It\'s crippled my whole computer!
*****Windows XP Is Holding My Computer Hostage.*****
I can\'t get into safe mode. F8 does Nothing. it boots up, goes to the login screen, and when I try to log in, it tells me that I MUST activate. I can\'t access DOS either. I. Am. Helpless.
Dear GOD I hope that the \"less\" will disappear in this forum
;_;
There has been much talk of cracks and hacks, every place I\'ve ever seen (while searching for them) said that they are inevitable. WHERE ARE THEY!? \"oh it\'s bound to happen\" \"there must be hundreds out already\" ok, WHERE? I need it, dammit, NEEEED it
note, I am an honest consumer who has been betrayed. you may quote me and use me against those M-effing THIEVING BASTARDS and Micro$h*t. Why the @%#$ did I BUY it for! I wanna @#%^ing USE what I PAID FOR.
*deep breath* whew... ... I needed that...
couldn\'t find any activation required key
OKAY
THIS IS THE MOST EASIEST WAY TO BYPASS WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL 2600 OR WHATEVER NUMBER IT DONT MATTER! just open notepad
put this in it:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows NTCurrentVersionWPAEvents]
\"OOBETimer\"=hex:ca,82,b8,55,d4,04,b5,cf,cc,5b,24,97
save it as something.reg on the desktop and double click it hit yes and hit ok. then go back to activate windows program and it will say \"WINDOWS IS ALREADY ACTIVATED\"
there, eat pooh.
-
Hax0r:
Only problem I seem to have is that after merging your string with my registry, when I reboot the activation is lost (ie - the system reverts to non-activated).
Did I do something wrong?
IT A PISS TAKE AND THE ACTIVATION THING IS ABOUT AS SECURE A BRICK ON A STRING.
-
there will only be a 0 or a 1 in the box
-
You dont havew to be in safe mode and it doesn;t have to be your first startup. If the keys don\'t exist the create them and it works.
-
there is no Activation Required key entry to change the value of. so now what
-
the method described by haXor_c0m seems to work at first glance, but it really doesn\'t.
Try it, then advance your clock a year and reboot: You\'ll be trapped in the activation message box at bootup and there is no way out.
eat poo indeed :-)
If you want to find a real XP activation crack, visit other pages. This is simple bla bla only.
There is no Activation Required key entry to change the value of in my registry. Suppose cause my copied WinXp Home OEM install had SP1 applied to it? Now what? Would it work if I uninstall SP1?
-
HEY CYRUS just read ur post on ur failure to boot....even into safe mode.....this happened to me also and like you, i also was a legitament user cause we both paid ALOT for this Sh*t (alot is used in this case to describe the outragious price slapped onto a rushed and shockingly unstable OS.)..........my issue occured after i upgraded a vid card and more memory...i got that same f-ing screen and i first called the # they suggest...i just explained my situation to the chick on the phone and she game me a new KEY...everythings fine....so my suggestions would be call that # or find the new phone# and talk too an overpaid microsoft employee too get a new #...(be convincing on the phone) 2. have u tried booting from an xp startup disk?that might give ya a little play to get back in and then u should hack ur winlogon.exe file described somewhere above
If you have XP Corporate, there is a tool floating around which will let you change your PID to one that SP1 will install on. It worked for me. Anyway, I can\'t get SP1 to slipstream into the Corporate ISO. Has anyone had success with this?
-
Nevermind. I got it working now. Not sure what was wrong previously.
-
Anyone know how to bypass the activation if I have a Windows XP Pro service pack 1 full version disk?
-
ok let\'s get down to it here!!!
Most of us know that the winlogon hack works, but if you update to SP1 it\'ll renig on you! if you try to hack winlogon again with the same trick, It\'ll go into a constant reboot cycle. So don\'t try to mod it again like my dumb arse! Or you\'ll find yourself starting from scratch.
Now the question is, has anyone found the mod for SP1? I have heard of getting a modded copy of SP1 but haven\'t found it, any Ideas?
\"Activation Required\". My WinXP is not aktivated and 30 days
DUDE....someone plz anbswer my simple question!!!!
1. can u install any patches for xp...? i know sp1 dosent work with the winlogon hack, but will anyother security patch updates work? or is SP1 a compilation of these patches?>
-
but does that winlogin hack work???
-
There is a small registry patch that allows you to change the serial to a working key, without having a valid key you can not load Service Pack 1 or do any upgrades.
-
What if your activation period is over and you cant access winxp anymore BUT you have another OS installed. Can you boot from that other OS and perform hex crack, or this works only with first boot when you have to go to safe mode?
-
thanx to whoever came up with this crack, its the only one i\'ve tried that actually works!! (even though I replaced the winlogon files some 6 days after I installed XP!!)
With a hexeditor edit a copy of winlogon.exe (c:windowssystem32winlogon.exe)
Change position 39662h (or 39660h sometimes)
8B D1 57 33 C0 .....
with these bytes
C7 06 01 00 00 00 83 EE 04 C3
Save and then replace the original winlogon.exe with the newone.
Must be replaced at
c:windowssystem32 and c:windowssystem32dllcache
In order be able replacing these files you must boot winxp in SAFE mode, or out from XP (real DOS, win98, etc).
Now XP HOME or PRO are activated.
Post Extras:
The only one that I tried that actually worked. The trick to finding the dllcache file is to go to run and type in the path: c:windowssystem32 and c:windowssystem32dllcache Use the ultra edit trial and this crack is a breeze.
I find the RegDone and I changed it, but i didn\'t find the \"Activation Required\" key, but I created It.
If u need to access windows xp to install cracks, backup, ect, after the activation period is up u can do this little trick discovered by me:
1. when ur computer is starting press F8 so that u get the screen that gives you the options to start the computer in safe mode and all that stuff
2. select start the computer in safe mode with ms dos prompt or something like that. (its been a long time since ive done this cause ive gone back to windows 98)
3. i think u will get the screen asking which user u want. just click administrator.
4. Type \"explorer\" (without quotes) and ur in. thats it. pretty simple.
if this don\'t work don\'t blame me cause ive havn\'t done this in a year. just tell me where u get lost and i might remember.
-
I got a hexeditor but the problem is that your said to search the 39660h or 39662h . i located only 39660 but her bytes are not the same is it a problem
-
yo.
-
did that worked for couple of days then started the activation over again
-
OK but in mine I dont have the second part the activation required. Have looked and looked no where in registry is it. Now what??
pls reply to ti2g2rEmail Removed
This is a great advice but I can\'t find that \"Activation Required\" key in this path. In fact, I did a \"Find\" and I still can\'t find it anywhere within the registry. Please comment. Thanks.
-
you need to boot from CD
-
I have windows XP home edition but i can\'t find the key \"activation required\" under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftWindowsNTCurrentVersionWinLogon
or anywhere else.
-
does anyone know how to activate Windows XP Home Edition that has Service Pack 1 installed already?
-
So there\'s no real way to Activate Windows XP after installing SP1?
-
Ok, here is the situation I just upgraded my com with additional ram, a new graphics card and a new cd rom drive, and it is asking me to reactivate. But when I try to reactivate they say I have excceded the limit. So is there a way to bypass tis reactivation process with SP1 installed and still be able to get future updates.
(The first time I installed it, I used the activation key and serial provided)
I only have 2 days left !!
-
Ok, say you just installed SP1 and found out that you cant use the crack anymore, well, i think people are forgetting a little thing called System Roll Back
/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
Easy to do, and it worked for me.
Go into Control Panel > Performance and Maintenance
on the left of the screen, youll see a link under \"See Also\" named System Restore, click that.
A box will pop up, check the radio button (if it is not already) next to \"Restore my computer to an earlier time\", click next.
A calendar will come up and you can click on the days to find when you last installed SP1, i forget what its called, but it should be something like \"Installation of SP1\" or whatever, click on it, hit next or ok or whatever, let the system restore and reboot, then bam! problem solved.. just dont update anymore, lol
what would happen if i edited the reg keys, after running xp for a while now, with SP1 installed?
-
The amount of keys in the winlogon.exe, is different than the amount listed to change them with on here. Should I only replace the first 10? Please help.
-
i 'm missing the key entry under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon for \"Activation Required\"... this is not my first boot after install and I already got the \"Invalid Key\" prompt when I was messing around installing the service packs off Microsoft's critical updates for XP, it had an anti piracy message too....oh well..I'm about to install mandrake 9.1.. but it would be nice to keep XP..
Hey everyone,
it all sounds like one big headache. My advice is to download Kazaa, emule, or a good filesharing program and get a copy of the corporate version from there. It is all over the place. You can also get registration cracks as well.
cheers
Does anyone know Exactly what the hex edit changes. I have used it for now over a year. And have had no problems. Thanks
-
If you want to bypass activation for Windows XP, the December 12, 2002 posting by Merlin totally works. I have done it on many computers without failure. You need UltraEdit (or any hex editor), alter the winlogon.exe, and replace the apporpriate files. Look at Merlin's instructions above. Follow the instructions. It works.
[quote name=\'Bwana\' date=\'Dec 2 2001, 12:12 PM\']I just purchased Windows Xp OEM, and do not want to register the SW. I am a sucker for new SW, but I hate the fact that MS is forcing registration. I will have a valid Key. I just want to know the best way around the product activation. Also I don’t want to be pestered when I upgrade equipment.
Thanks for any help.[/quote]
Ok, i recently purchased XP pro full off of ebay.com, it hasnt arrived yet but ive got to get it onto 6 seprate machines, i was recently hacked and dont want to repeat the process, i bought XP because i know ME doesnt have enough security to stop a dying cyber dust mite from frying your hard drive... isnt it possible that when you butcher XP onto your system it squeels out in pain, telling microsoft all about you and your dirty work and bringin em to your door with a SWAT team behind them? o.O not my idea of a good day
I was wondering how bad XP will run on a p3 500 with 768 megs of ram, a 30 gig hard drive, 32 meg video card, sound blaster awe 64, and a 10/100 network, this computer is used mainly for gaming on battle.net and currently has 300 some odd megs of ram in it, all of which is used when i play diablo two lord of destruction on its lowest settings, 200 megs of my virtual memory are used also
/ph34r.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':ph34r:\' />
(as i chatter on *rolls eyes*) when i do crack XP, what can i expect? it to run beautifully? or to find a bunch of super geeks with cattle prods at my door the next day, i also would like to know if i am less likly or more likly to get hacked running this operating system behind norton firewall
If you want to crack XP, you may want to try some serious warez sites, do NOT download an OS off of kazaa, morpheus, or whatever, there is a BIG chance it is messed with, (I.E. spyware, zombie type viruses ((zombie viruses are viruses that use your computer to attack other computers)) or just plain viruses that are meant to kill your computer)
and not fully functional, personally i would just go mow a few lawns, skip dinner once or twice, and go buy XP pro and crack it but thats just the opinion of a 14 year old, so dont listen to me, please, im too young to know anything
/tongue.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':P\' />
ONE last thing
which is less of a system drain, 2000 pro or XP pro?
e-mail me with replies, ill probably lose this thread in the millions of SPAM e-mails that i get from symantic
Why logon in safe mode ? What happens on first boot?
-
Okay, i've downloaded about 3 copies of window xp pro corp (supposedly). Anyway, each copy has the same EULA as eachother and my original copy of xp pro. Each EULA says that activation is required within 30 days. Should corp have the same EULA as the retail xp pro??? If corp doesn't require activation, why does it say that it does in the EULA??? Do I even have an xp corp if it is saying this??? If I don't have a corp version, how can I ever tell when I do, what do you look for???
Thanks in advance for any replies.
