Title: faulty RAM

i have been using my PC for 2 years now and it was working perfectly fine until last week.

when i consulted a comp. tech. he said it has a bad RAm. he recommended i buy additional, at least, 128 RAM.

i am just curious because unlike other cases that i've read in the net, they have 512 RAM and the comp reads only 256. but mine is that i have a 128 RAM but the comp. only reads 120 MB. what could be the cause of this. i already tried inserting it to the other slots but it's still 120...

u know what thats a good point i rely have to know that to
but for my experience i think its way u have a video card whith the mother board
i thing they use the ram off the computer my computer has 1gb 2x512 but it shows 960 mb
and une day i was like why than i realize that i have 128 mb ram on video card sho thats why the called shared memory ur video card uses only 8 mb that why it shows 120 i might bee wrong but i think thi it is

denadi21[censored] is right. Onboard video borrows its RAM from the system RAM (i.e. 128meg installed, 120meg system/8meg video).
I do suggest buying a stick of 512meg RAM (504meg system/8meg video).
Your system will feel much more snappier.
