Title: How many OSes
Post by: Dexter on October 17, 2000, 11:24:03 PM
How many OSes total(number and names and yes different versions can count as different OSes) have you had experience with, aka actually installed/used/worked in/etc not just looked at or heard off...

For me it\'s
4 windows (3.1, 95, 98se, WinMe)
6 linux (Redhat, TurboLinux, Corel)
2 *nix (FreeBSD, HP/UX)
1 BeOS
1 V2_OS
[14 total]

Well dang, I dunno if I can count that high /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />  I won\'t consider minor releases, such as from win3.1 to win3.11 or win98 to win98se.  But I\'ll consider the others so...

7 Windows 3.11, 95, 98, Me, NT 3.51, NT4, Win2K

7 Some Mars *nix system, Redhat 5.2, Redhat 6.2, Redhat 7.0 (argh no...the horrors!!!), Mandrake 6.2, Mandrake 7.1, Corel

1 Apple IIe (whatever OS it used...AppleOS?)

2 MacOS 7, 9 (I used an old MacSE and a newer one, so I\'m kinda guessing at the version numbers)

1 BeOS 5 (barely played with 4.5, doesn\'t count)

So I guess that\'s roughly 18.  And in case you don\'t think the old apple should have been counted...well I could list each version of DOS I\'ve used so...don\'t start /smile.gif\' class=\'bbc_emoticon\' alt=\':)\' />  At least I didn\'t list my old TI-99/4A
