trying to transfer data from my laptop to my home computer. wondering how to network the two to do this.

There are routers, network switches, specific LAN and USB cables, all designed to connect the two computers together.
All you have to do is either hit your favorite computer retail store or web site.

i realize you have to connect the two with (usb..etc), it's the next step of actually transfering data between the two that becomes a problem.
